I am not typically into cutesy things, but when I saw this I had to add it to my nightie drawer. How can you pass up on wearing naked cartoon characters? Well, I couldn't, but I wouldn't call it a good use of my money. This is a great piece, but the fitting is off.

This arrived in a simple plastic bag, on a cheap plastic hanger. I suppose you can reuse the hanger if you want, but I prefer using nicer hangers. This folds well, anyway. The packaging is see-through, so it's not discreet if you have reason to hide your lingerie.



Out of the Bag
The sales tag is on a ribbon that is safety pinned to the piece, so there is no worry about tearing the gown. The main tag is NOT sealed on, but instead it's loose. This saddens me when I buy clothes now, because the heat sealed tags are so much more comfortable to deal with.

The overall gown is decently made. There are seams down each side with tight stitching. The trim at the top has even tighter stitching, and the material itself is soft and almost satiny. As for the bottom stitching, it is looser, and it makes me nervous of tearing.

The straps are ribbons with an adjustable button. It's pretty flimsy, but seems to be sewn on well. The button itself can be adjusted to 15" from the armpit to the top, or down to 11". There's not too many options. Also, because this is a ribbon, it can bunch and get twisted. I've noticed loose threads on the sewn pieces around the button, but so far I don't believe this is a problem.

From where the straps begin to the bottom of the gown, the total length is about 28" unstretched. The bottom measures about 26" wide (laying flat) unstretched. The top measures 18" wide (laying flat) unstretched, and it doesn't begin to flare out until the belly button area -- at least on me.

Once I got this on, I realized that the sizing wasn't true to what I'm used to. Here are my measurements for comparison:

It fit nicely enough around my breasts, although it pulled them awkwardly. As you can see in the photo below, it made my breasts look lopsided. I wasn't aware of it when the picture was taken, so I'm sure this could be rectified with a mirror. However, if your measurements are close to mine or bigger, plan on bunching occurring. I had THOUGHT that this size would have fit nicer, but it was very snug around my tummy and made me feel uncomfortable. I was happy with the length though, despite the bunching on the rest of me. As for the straps, they didn't irritate my sensitive skin, but they were also a bit too snug. I have wide shoulders, so this may not be a problem for everyone. Basically, if you're on the end of Coquette's size chart for this, like me, then expect it to be snug and possibly too tight to bother with.



Overall, I doubt I will ever wear this unless nothing else is clean. I still love the design, but it's just not comfortable enough for me to wear often. As you can see above, it did nothing to enhance my shape, and it made my breasts look flat and lopsided. However, it's cute, and it would be a great nightgown if I lose weight.

After trying to wear it for the second time, one of the straps broke. I was able to sew it back on even though I HATE sewing, but then the second strap broke. At this point I was too annoyed with the item and threw it out. The straps were not tight on me. This is just an issue with the quality of the ribbons and stitching used.
