Pink champagne dress - mini dress discontinued by DreamGirl - review by ToyGurl

If you're a girl with a short torso and long legs, this will be the perfect short dress for you to wear out to the club or even out to dinner with your sweetheart. If you're like myself, with long legs AND a long torso, this will NOT be the dress for you. Since the plus sizes are out, if you're a tad bit overweight, order a larger size. If you normally wear a large, just let this one go or buy it to wear as a shirt. I've wanted this dress for a really long time... since way back when the plus sizes were still around.


You've got to know first off, that I'm NOT a plus size girl. If anything, an extra large on occasion, but NEVER a 1X, 2X, 3X, etc. I usually look for mediums/larges when I'm at the mall, and an extra large is usually something I purchase when it comes to tight fitting shirts as I have a very, very tiny pudgy belly. So I went ahead and said "Hey, I can order a L! That will fit me great!" after reading a larger woman's review and watching her video. She said she was wearing an XL, which looked way too big for my figure, so I went with the L. Her dress looked about a 2X, but being told it was an XL I knew a L would be great on me, even if it was TOO big.


It got here just about an hour ago, and I tried it on to find that it was too small! I was so surprised pulling it out of the box because it is so much shorter than I have seen in other reviews. I could see my vulva as I stood in front of the mirror. I was so upset that I started to cry and do the whole "I'm not beautiful, I'm fat, blah blah blah" thing with my husband. He comforted me and told me to go get my review done, so that's what I'm doing...


I was very pleased with the pillowy effect of the dress. I love pillow-top shirts/dresses because they hide any bulges or "imperfections" in a figure. Since this dress is more of a tunic/shirt on me, that's how I am reviewing it. But even with nothing underneath, it did a great job at hiding my tiny belly.


The design of the breast area is very nice. It is put together in a way that simply doesn't allow you NOT to show cleavage. I'm a little iffy about showing cleavage in public, but along with the design and the padding, my breasts looked fantastic. I was so excited when I saw that I wouldn't have to worry about my nipples showing, as the padding takes care of that.


The straps are sturdy, but there was a tiny bit of some thread coming loose on the left strap that I noticed when I took it out of the box. I repaired it immediately, as I'm a wonderful seamstress, to avoid problems later. But the rest of the dress is held together well and I can see it lasting me a long time. The top of the breast area, where the straps begin, is adorned with two circular metal add-ons encrusted with jewels that sparkle quite fabulously! Very shiny, and they add a great touch to the piece.


This piece needs to be washed cold, on low to no spin, with a very light soap that is safe for colors. You don't want any discoloration or bleaching since there is black. I prefer dry-cleaning, so that is what I am going to do. The tags mention hand-washing, but I find that to be too much of a chore. If you have a good washer that has a no-spin cycle and a cold option, utilize what you've got and save your hands some work.


The thong that comes with it is actually really nice. It is see-through, which I don't necessarily like, but it could be worn daily as another G-String thong, so I don't mind. I always need more when it comes to wearing my skirts for work... no one likes panty lines! As far as wearing it without anything over it? Nope. It's made for a tiny vulva, which is very apparent once you put it on. Not many women I know have a vulva that is 2.5 inches wide.


I might use this as a shirt, I guess. Or I will hang it on the wall and tell myself "THAT's how much weight you need to lose by Christmas!". I couldn't possible toss this or give it away because it's just too pretty!

Overall, this is a fine piece. I wish the sizes didn't run small, but I can find a way to work with it. Whether it be by using this as a shirt instead of a dress, or losing weight. I'll probably take the second route since this shocked me into reality that my small pudge is keeping me from wearing what I want to wear. However, I don't find this an excuse for a company to make a L into a M. So think carefully about what type of figure you have before making this purchase - you might end up with a shirt!

I've started to like this more. I ended up keeping it as a shirt. Best friend has the larger size and it's WAY too big on me... So I'm just in between, I guess. Anyhow, it looks fabulous with a pair of jeans and some nice heels. Perfect thing to wear to the club or just out with your hubby.
