Purple Power Tool

This vibrator packs a lot of power, which it directs at your clitoris with pinpoint precision. It's one of the most powerful vibrators I've used to date--and also pretty loud. It has 7 vibration settings independent of the speed, and rotation settings for the steel beads in the shaft. It's supposed to be waterproof, although I have heard otherwise. I personally had no issues with water damaging it. Due to the length, girth, and intensity, this is not a good vibrator for beginners.

Pros
It has lots of power! The dolphin is just the right length and angle to hit my clit.
Cons
It may be too powerful for some people, the vibrations are TOO targeted, and it's loud.

Use

This is a rabbit-style vibrator with a slight twist--rather than 2 "rabbit ears", this has a single "nose" shaped like a dolphin. It's kind of cute. Rabbit vibrators are specifically designed for women because the vibrating "ears" stimulate the clitoris. I haven't had a male partner who particularly enjoyed using this style of vibrator on himself. It's really either best to use for solo play or for a woman's partner to use on her.

It's a pretty easy device to use. You insert the dildo portion, nudge the dolphin nose up against your clitoris, and push the power button. Because this toy is noisy, you may want to ensure that you have plenty of privacy or cover up the noise with the sound of running shower water.

Material / Texture

The insertable portion of the toy is pure silicone. It's very smooth to the touch, with a slight give. Silicone is non-porous and a 10 on the Edenfantasys safety scale. The handle and control panel of the toy are plastic, which is still quite safe but is only an 8 on the safety scale. The shaft of the toy is slightly ribbed, but I barely felt the texture. The rotating beads in the shaft of this toy provide most of the stimulation from the shaft. This toy has no taste or smell.

Design / Shape / Size

Back in the days of yore, I owned a rabbit vibrator. It was one of the older Jack Rabbit models--a Pearl, I think--possibly even also by California Exotics. It was a behemoth that ran off of 2 C batteries at a time, which it ate like candy. I'm pretty sure I could have clubbed somebody to death with it.

In contrast, the Silly Diver runs off of 3 AA batteries, yet manages to be at least twice as powerful (it still weighs just as much, though). This vibrator has heft. Due to the size and weight, I don't consider it to be travel friendly.

Holding in hand

The battery compartment features an "easy load" design. Rather than dropping batteries in and fiddling with them to get them into the right position, a small plastic piece pops out which you fit the batteries into and drop back into the vibrator. At first, I was confused because I saw two notches for AA batteries but after installing them, the vibrator still didn't turn on. I didn't realize that there is also a third notch in the back for a third battery until I pulled the plastic piece out again and examined it more closely.

Batteries

It has a rotating shaft with steel beads in it. The rotation controls are separate from the vibration controls, which is nice, and you can turn the rotation on and off (the default is off).

This toy is supposed to be waterproof. I haven't tested that rigorously, but it survived running water and a good dunking during its initial cleaning. I have read that it can't handle being submerged for any length of time, though, and didn't want to find out if that was true. It's a nice magenta color with a lighter pink handle.

I wouldn't recommend this for someone who is a beginner to using vibrators and dildos. The Silly Diver has a lot of length and girth to it, in my opinion. The head and shaft were a little bit boring--they could have used some more texture or a more interesting shape. The shape of the dildo is pretty much useless for g-spotting, but if you like deep penetration, this is a good one for you.

The dolphin nose vibrates like crazy. The vibrations don't extend very strongly to the end of the dildo portion, though. One of the issues I have with rabbit vibes is that the ears are often too low or short. I don't know where manufacturers think my clitoris is, but 90% of the time they're wrong. It may be a little bit high up. If you've had issues with rabbit vibrators not reaching your clit or hitting the wrong spot, this vibrator might be a good choice for you.

Comparison to Sharpie

Measurements:
Total Length: 10"
Insertable Length: approx. 5.25"
Circumference: 5"
Length of Dolphin (clit stimulator) from base of dolphin/insertable point of dildo to tip of nose: approx. 2"
The dolphin juts out from the base of the dildo at an approximately 30 degree angle.

Because this vibrator is so large and heavy, it's not very travel-friendly.

Functions / Performance / Controls

At first I was a little clueless about what the controls did. The package had a helpful diagram on the back that pointed out what each button was for, though, so that helped. It's pretty easy to find and push the buttons while you're using the vibrator, although I did mix up the power and rotation buttons a few times in the dark.

SETTINGS:

Controls

Vibration:

To tell you the truth, this device has no "low" setting. It has high, higher, and highest. Seriously. The Silly Diver does not screw around. I have nicknamed mine The Silly Jackhammer.

1. "Low" (for this vibrator), steady vibration
2. "Medium", steady vibration
3. High, steady vibration
4. Even pulses
5. Rapid building rumbly pulses
6. Long, steady, evenly-spaced, strong vibrations
7. 3 fast pulses followed by a long one

Rotating beads:
Up and down arrows turn beads on and adjust between 3 speeds, independent of vibration.
The center button changes the direction of the beads.

Noise:
When you turn it on, it sounds like it's about to launch itself into orbit. You might be able to hear it through closed doors, although to untrained ears it probably sounds like a power tool. I mean, it practically IS one. Due to its shape, size, and how loud it is, this toy is not discreet at all.

Care and Maintenance

The insertable portion of the toy is pure silicone, but the base is plastic. It's supposed to be waterproof, but I have read otherwise. Because of the plastic and movable parts, it can't be boiled or run through the dishwasher. I spray mine with toy cleaner and clean it with antibacterial soap and the hottest water I can stand. You can also cover it with a condom if you don't want to deal with cleaning it. This is one of the easiest toys to clean that I own.

Because a portion of the toy is silicone, don't use silicone lubes because they will cause the material to degrade. Use water-based lubes instead.

Due to its size, it's kind of a pain in the butt to store discreetly. I gave up and just shoved it under a pair of pants in my dresser drawer.
    • Difficult to store
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The toy comes packaged in a clear plastic box that triumphantly proclaims it to be "The Ultimate In Female Stimulation!". It's not exactly discreet, and the dildo is prominently displayed. I guess it could make a decent gift box--it's not super ugly. It's not super attractive, either. The box was easy to open. I wouldn't consider it to be good for storage. The packaging had basic information on it regarding the features and controls (such as how to turn the vibrator off by holding down the power button for 4 seconds).

Personal comments

If you have a sensitive clitoris, this is NOT the vibrator for you. If you haven't had much luck with rabbit vibrators in the past, though, give this one a try.

Experience

At first, this vibe was too much for me. I specifically bought one of the strongest vibrators according to reviews so that I had a good reference point for what 5 "zooms" would be, and because I've had poor luck with rabbit vibrators in the past. They just haven't done much for me.

Just starting off, the vibrations were too intense for my poor little clitoris. The first brush felt great, but then quickly became painful. The dolphin's nose does a fantastic job of pinpointing vibrations--maybe it does it a little bit too well. The rotating beads and shaft were also nice but didn't make or break the experience for me.

Ultimately this was OK with me, though, because one of my issues with vibrators is that they're stimulating to begin with but after I get going, they just don't have enough power to push me the rest of the way. I switched back to a weaker vibrator for a while until I was ready to try the Diver again.

The next time I tried it, it felt good. It was still just a little bit too intense for me even on the lowest setting, so I switched to one of the pulse settings. After a while, I switched back to Setting #1, which was the lowest steady vibration setting.

This is not a vibe I can just push up against my clit. I have to nudge the dolphin's nose to the side because having it directly on my clitoris is overstimulating and painful at first. The vibrations are so strong, though, that this works really well. Eventually I was able to handle direct contact from the dolphin's nose.

This is the part where I decided that the Silly Diver is worthwhile after all. Multiple orgasms are an extreme rarity for me--I'm one of those ladies who goes off once, and that's pretty much it for a while. It also takes me FOREVER to get there. Well, not any more, courtesy of Mr. Dolphin. I was a little bit taken by surprise by exactly how quickly and intensely I climaxed--and also the fact that I was able to do it several times. The problem is that even then, the Diver's vibrations are just too pinpointed and intense, and things get borderline painful fast.

I'm actually hoping that as the batteries run down the vibrator will lose a little bit of its power. It's too powerful, but only slightly so. It's almost perfect, but the "too much" is just a little too much at times. I have some 'numb clit' type times, though, when I think the Diver would actually be just right--the one vibrator that can actually go the distance when my clitoris has decided to be stubborn.

Silly Diver actually makes me want to try Silly Rabbit. I've been looking for a g-spot vibe with this sort of sheer power.
Follow-up commentary
This vibrator still packs a punch and it doesn't drain batteries nearly as quickly as I feared. It's definitely my go to for when I want to get off fast, although it can be too overwhelming...and it's not the vibe for when I want a nice, slow, relaxing sort of orgasm. It's also pretty bulky so I can't really pair it up with anything else. Oh, well.
