7 function wireless remote egg - egg discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by BBW Talks Toys

I requested this for review for two very specific reasons. One, I wanted to compare it to the similarly priced California Exotics Egg I recently reviewed. Two, it had an On/Off switch, which I knew going into this would instantly make this different from my other egg. Now that I've clarified that, let's get on with it, shall we?

This egg is made by Doc Johnson. It has seven functions that offer various speeds and patterns of vibrations. It is controlled by a wireless remote that has a key fob on it that would make it easy to attach to a belt loop or to your keys. I would say that the best uses of this toy for me are clitoral and for other erogenous zones. While this egg is fairly petite and will fit up inside me enough to nestle into my G-spot, the strength of the vibrations are simply lacking. I suppose it's fairly buzzy externally, but internally? Frankly, I could barely feel the vibrations. This likely has to do with the fact that it's powered by six (yes, SIX (6)) watch (LR44) batteries. Add that to the N battery that goes into the remote and this gets to be pretty pricey to power. It came with only one set of batteries. No extras. That was also disappointing as nearly all of my toys that have required either watch batteries or N batteries came with a backup set.

The range for this toy leaves something to be desired as well. I attribute this to the fact that the antenna wire is fairly small. We didn't use this outside the bedroom, which if you ask me (and you are since you're reading), this is a good thing because My Mr would have had to have been within 6 feet of me at all times to change the vibrations or turn it on/off by surprise. He went to the living room to get our feather tickler and took the remote with him. NOTHING. No changes no matter how many times he hit the little remote. This made it a further disappointment to me. If you like soft vibrations and don't have exhibitionist plans, this might be great.

I suppose something that could be fun to try with this toy is having one person use this for masturbation and the other partner could have the controls. One partner could use this on their clit, penis, or testicles while masturbating and the other partner could easily increase the vibrations or change the pattern or even turn it off to throw their partner off orgasm. It would make a fun little toy for that kind of teasing and play.

The egg is plastic and has a soft, velvety texture to it. A great feature of this little egg is that it's compatible with all of your lubricants. It's easily cleaned with toy cleaner and some warm water, but cannot be fully sanitized due to the rubber O-ring that makes it waterproof, so if you are planning to share, wrap it up in a condom or toy cover. This little egg is absolutely not safe anally. It will get swallowed by your bum. You will go to the ER. You will be highly embarrassed. The wire that serves as a retrieval ring is also the antenna so you don't want to pull on this too strongly or it will dislodge.

Let's go through the motions, er vibrations, here for a minute:
1. Very low, steady vibration.
2. Low, steady vibration.
3. Medium, steady vibration.
4. Revving increase, then pause.
5. Medium pulses.
6. Fast pulses.
7. The first four notes of Beethoven's 5th... do do do dooooooooooo (or zzz zzz zzz zzzzzzz)

As I mentioned earlier, we've only used this in the bedroom. We used it during one of my rare submissive nights. My Mr made me get on all fours then inserted this while he made me read erotica out loud. The erotica got me hot, the toy did not enhance the experience at all. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be using this too often. It might come out a couple of times for teasing, as I recommended above; however, for the cost of the batteries required, it may not be worth it.
