Unique Friend for Orgasms

You can have your cake, and eat it too. The creative design is both appealing and functional, with 3 different sites for stimulation and 4 vrooms of power. Those who love pinpoint stimulation or broad will have it; those who want buzzy vibes or rumbly vibes can have their pick, too. UFO even offers a friendly appearance and interface system that makes it endearing. Did I mention it's waterproof, silicone and rechargeable?

Use

Ideas for the UFO...
1. Clitoral vibrator for women -- two in one, broad and pinpoint stimulation.
2. Perineum vibrator
3. Some anal teasing
4. Non-erotic massager
5. Actual toy (Seriously! It's so friendly and nice to touch!)

Top of UFO

Something about the shape of this toy really lends itself to creativity rather than confusion, for me. The UFO could be used anywhere your imagination takes you, but it really shines for me as a clitoral vibrator, especially since it has two edges to it -- the rounded, broad side on the bottom and the ridge that makes up the rim of this flying saucer. Certainly men could place it under their balls for delightful perineum stimulation. Both sexes could enjoy some light anal teasing using the rim of the UFO. The UFO is definitely conducive to partner play, since it's easily held, strong enough to massage most areas of the body and, the best part, it'll light up in the dark. How fun is that?

The UFO is powerful enough to contend with many other clitoral vibrators. It's truly discreet, yet not boring or blobby looking. If you're looking for a unique toy, but are unwilling to compromise on actual functionality, the UFO is for you.

Material / Texture

The UFO is a dual-material toy. The neon pink area is squishy silicone, while the white control panel on the top is plastic. Despite being two materials with an obvious edge between them, the UFO is waterproof, which is great.

The silicone used in the UFO is matte color, slightly draggy. I find it plays well with lubes (I used a water-based one). The entire toy is a little squishy; if you were to shake it a little, it would jiggle slightly. The edges of the rim of the UFO shape give way to pressure slightly, but do not bend or flex. The bottom feels fairly solid, even though your finger can sink a little into it.

You would use the silicone portion for stimulation; even though there is no texture, the changing width of the toy from rim to bottom and anywhere in between provides some interest.

The plastic top is hard plastic; all the buttons are enclosed under the plastic. The magnetic charging port is also located here, but is totally waterproof.

Design / Shape / Size

Measurements:
The UFO fits into my cupped hand quite well. It's about the size of my palm's diameter. I think this size is adorable -- any larger and it would be silly and conspicuous; any smaller and it wouldn't be able to do its job.

Comparison

So the UFO looks like a toy -- is it really useful?

Oh, yes. While in use, I actually noticed that there are just about three discrete surfaces to the UFO to enjoy. There's the rim of the saucer, the rounded bottom but also the concave surface in between. I wouldn't normally think of that area as anything special, except that's where the vibrations can be felt the strongest. Also, the concave shape really does help to cradle your clitoris and rub against your labia or frenulum.

In my opinion, the vrooms noticeably vary throughout the toy. The strength goes from about 2.5 vrooms at the rim and 3 at the rounded bottom. The bottom is defintely stronger, but I'd hesitate to say that the rim is weak sauce -- also, the rim provides pinpoint stimulation and an edge to rub against while the bottom is broad. I find I like both broad and pinpoint stimulation, so this was an excellent two-fer for me. Pressing into the concave portion of the toy, the vrooms jump to 4, which is exactly where I like to be to go over the edge.

Discretion and Travel
Personally, I leave my UFO out -- even though I have housemates, I have a bit more privacy than others in room mate situations or living with their parents. Nevertheless, I enjoy seeing the UFO out on my desk. It's cute, it lights up at me when I touch it and once you have a bunny and a banana on your desk as well, people stop questioning you.

Even though UFO might pass for an interesting toy, since it lights up at the slightest touch and is quite loud, it may not be discreet enough to travel. If you do decide to travel with it, the double storage bags that Fun Factory included are pretty A-okay.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The UFO is, of course, a vibrator. And what a vibrator! To turn it on, press and hold the plus button for 3 seconds; then, the steady vibrations will begin. There are 7 steady vibration levels. I love having the ability to climb the ladder, so to speak, so I can increase the strength as I get closer to orgasm. This allows me to have the power I want when I want it without numbing myself.

Steady Vibes:
1. Very low, about 1 vrooms, 2 bees.
2. Low, 2 vrooms, 2 bees.
3. Medium.
4. Medium-high.
5. High. 4 vrooms.
6. Highest! This level is still 4 vrooms, but with slightly more surface vibrations that increase the feel of the vibes, but not really the power. This is the main difference between buzzy and rumbly vibes in general. It's also 3 bees, with a high-pitched, oscillating quality of noisiness.

The quality of the vibes -- I would say the UFO is variable depending on where you use it. At the rim, you'll get buzzy vibrations. If you press the concave portion to yourself, the vibes are deliciously rumbly. I'd say there's something for everyone, since the character of the vibration frequencies are mixed.

Patterns:
The patters are all about the same strength, not falling below 3 vrooms and going up to 4. The patterns can be accessed by pressing the star button.

1. Fast pulse
2. Fast rev
3. Wave
4. Rollercaster

To turn off the UFO, simply click the minus button until it turns off. This could mean clicking it as many as seven times, since there are seven vibration levels. This could be a turn-off for some. Alternatively, you could simply click and hold, which will then turn the toy off in about 3 seconds. In my opinion, I like Fun Factory's control system. I find that the buttons are highly responsive without being over-sensitive. Finding a toy with the three button system and does it well is somewhat rare.

Description of the UFO, charging:
I have yet to find a review, video or discussion board post about the normal charging behavior of a Fun Factory Click n' Charge toy. I own both the Yooo and the UFO now, and it would have been helpful to know what's normal and what's not.

While charging

For the UFO, the black charger makes a stable connection when the Fun Factory logo on the black port lines up directly over the silver, metal, magnetic 'Fun' logo lines up, exactly parallel. Then, the black port light will be a strong, stable, red light. It should not blink or waver; it probably shouldn't look very dim, either. Making the wire of the port about 90 degrees from the toy itself is helpful to make and keep a stable connection; I really wish Fun Factory had made an indented or helpfully curved surface for its chargers. As it is, the UFO's surface curves away from its charger, which makes connecting difficult.

On the UFO, first the white lights under the buttons will blink in unison; then, the buttons will light up in turn, going around in a circle. The lights will fade on one button while getting stronger on the adjacent, and this action should look fairly 'smooth'. I know my Yooo was out of commission and broken when the lights were seriously flicker-y.

The manual warns that the UFO should not be stored uncharged, as this will damage the battery. The UFO took about 6 hours to charge the first time, and only 2 hours for every time after. I find I can use it about 6 times, ~30 minutes each session before it needs to be plugged in. When UFO is done charging, the red light on the black port turns off, but the white lights on the UFO itself stay.

Care and Maintenance

The manual states the UFO is waterproof. I have yet to use the UFO in the tub yet, but you're not limited to bath time -- also pool time and shower time! Despite being a dual-material toy, the red silicone is flush with the plastic control area. The buttons are completely covered, making them safe zones for lube, fluids and water while cleaning. Likewise, as a magnetically charging toy, the charger port is inaccessible to liquids. I love this feature! I wish all toys were magnetically rechargeable.

Cleaning up, due to the completely waterproof nature of the UFO, is a cinch. Easy methods include toy wipes, soap and water or a 10% bleach solution. As the UFO is a vibrator with electronics, do not send it through the dishwasher, boil it or microwave it.

Experience

First and Lasting Impressions:
I never do first impressions for toys, because I usually know what I'm getting into, even with discreet cuties like the Leaf line. But the UFO is different! I was delighted by the cute packaging, the double satin bags and then, the color! It's not really red, perhaps a reddish pink with a dose of neon. It's even wonderful to touch without using it as a sex toy. While it's true the sound of the vibrations is louder than I like, there's something about the layered noise it produces that even makes it sound like a UFO. In my opinion, that's kind of fun.

That being said, this is a different and surprisingly pleasant experience for me. I've never really felt like interacting with technology is very fun, but sometimes I really do find the touch-activated lights somehow endearing. Even its charging pattern is interesting to look at, since its buttons will light up in a clockwise pattern. At first I thought that was unnecessary and complicated, but well... I find that I look over at it while it's charging way too often to really think I dislike it. This is the first sex toy I own that could actually double as a real, entertaining and interactive toy. All I know is that I'm beyond charmed by it. I love the UFO!
Follow-up commentary
I still love my UFO! It was my introduction to Fun Factory toys and I can't wait to get more. This toy is a definite pleaser and I keep it on my nightstand to have on-hand. I've found the battery life to be more than adequate as well as the power. As a couples' toy, it's been a blast. The patterns are great for teasing and giving over to a partner.

The only thing I've noticed to mention is that the white buttons on the top have gotten a little 'dirty' looking with use. I've tried paying more attention to them while cleaning, but they seem stuck a slightly grey shade. Obviously, it's white plastic, so I'm not surprised.
