I think this vibe is best used for general external use, as well as clitoral stimulation. The shape and width of the head is really unsuitable for anything beyond external use. The strong vibrations feel great on sensitive areas such as the breasts, neck, and stomach. Using alone or with a partner is easy. Because this toy is powered by an A/C power cord, you're limited to bed-only use, but the cord is long enough to give you a substantial amount of flexibility in use.

The material on the head of the massager is very smooth and soft, yet firm. While the material is firm, the neck of the massager has an accordion look to it that allows for rotation and bending. This is a great feature because it makes the toy easier to hold into specific positions and gives the user(s) more physical freedom. It did not have any smell to it, which is always a plus. The head has inset rings around the sides, which could possibly give stimulation to some, but I personally did not find there to be any sensation from those ridges.

The design of this toy is brilliant because the sheer size of the base allows for an incredible diversity in use. The size of the head fits my body perfectly and the length and width of the handle gives much freedom to the possible positions of use. The design is very simple and approachable, so I think beginners who require very strong vibrations would enjoy this toy. However, the one drawback to the size is that it becomes less discreet and difficult to travel with and store within your bedroom.

The Fairy Wand is controlled by a dial in the middle of the handle of the base. It clicks firmly when it goes from the off to the lowest setting. I have been very pleased with the controls so far in my use of the Fairy Wand. I was initially concerned that the placement would cause accidental speed/intensity changes during use, but I rarely have that problem. There are no patterns built in, the wheel only increases the intensity, but the smooth design of the wheel makes it very very easy for me to manually create my own patterns during use, which is a really neat feature that I've never seen anywhere else. The wand has immense power, and is the most powerful toy I've ever used. I often have problems with numbness if I use it for too long, so before committing to this toy, know yourself and your limits. The toy is very noisy, even at the lowest settings, so this would definitely not be a good choice for anyone in a shared living situation. Finally, due to the fact that the toy uses an A/C power cord, using in or near water is not allowed.

My main complaint about this toy is the difficulty to clean. As I mentioned before, the head has inlaid ridges along the side, and while they do not add anything texturally, they allow for gunk to collect within the tiny space. I found this out the hard way and spent the better part of an hour using a cleaning wipe and my fingernail inside the ridges. This toy is also much longer than average vibes, not to mention has a long power cord, so your usual storage methods may need to adjust for the Fairy Wand. I personally had to upgrade the makeup bag I once used for a larger zippered bag when this toy came into my collection.
