Sex Toy Finds New Use for Toothbrush Motor

The surprising thing isn’t so much that someone has developed a vibrator based on the motor of a Sonicare toothbrush. The surprising thing is that, in this day and age, with vibrators no longer taboo and very available –ahem– online, that there are some people still using something like a Sonicare toothbrush as a sex toy. Somebody had a minty-fresh vagina!

Evidently the motor in the Sonicare does get up a pretty good vibration and GeekWire reports that a Seattle start-up called Revel Body just got enough loot from generous “angels” to develop a new high tech vibe motor like the one in the Sonicare toothbrush, only for a sex toy.
The device will be called The Orb and may be out later this year. The motor will use sonic technology for better vibration and less noise than traditional motors.

Revel Body founder, Robin Elenga, had no prior interest in developing sex toys. But after talking to workers at Sonicare, and discovering that consumers confided that they used the toothbrush for other than it’s intended purpose, it suddenly became a viable option.

“It was just this idea that if vibration is better beyond what the existing motors can do, we should try to help it,” Elenga says.

Can’t wait! Now we’re just gonna go “brush”…
