A Decent and Affordable Beginner Kit

In general, this is a good kit for a beginner. I would still purchase this kit again, even though I have since mostly moved on to other toys. I still use them, as they are good for warming up with, and they will whet the appetite of a beginner to experiment with a wider variety of toys.

Pros
The thin tips make insertion easy. They are smaller than most other butt plugs and anal toys.
Cons
The thin tips can poke and are sometimes uncomfortable. The packaging is NOT discreet.

Use

Well, these are butt-plugs. The name alone is pretty self-explanatory: you stick them up your butt, and that's what they're best used for. They're not good for thrusting, since they're not designed for that and the narrow tips might poke/bruise. They're flared at the base in order to prevent your rectum from sucking them up there. Like any other toys you use for anal sex, be sure to use lots of lube... and a condom, if you plan on sharing.

These are good for both solo and couples play. Solo, you can put the plug in either to derive stimulation directly from the plug itself or by having the plug in while you masturbate or perform other activities. The plugs are good for warming up before other types of anal penetration.

For couples, you can put the plug in and experiment with various sex acts while one or the other (or both of you, the kit comes with more than one) wears the plug. If you're going to attempt intercourse while using a plug, I'd say start with the purple one as it is the slimmest. Since this IS a Beginner Kit, if you are really a complete beginner I'd recommend starting solo, before bringing your partner into things.

Material / Texture

The silicone that these toys are made of is velvety smooth. They have a very, very slight seam that you can feel if you rub the surface with your fingertips, but you don't feel it at all once they're in. They did not have a noticeable odor beyond a slightly rubbery "new toy" smell that went away the first time I washed them. They have a slight give that's good for a toy of this sort, and all of them are slightly flexible, but they're not "squishy". Pure silicone is one of the safest materials available, and one of the easiest to sanitize, so it's one of the few materials I will use for anal play.

Design / Shape / Size

The nice thing about this little kit is that the plugs offer a great deal of variety. Each of the 3 plugs is a completely different shape and design, is suited for a different body type, and offers a different kind of stimulation.

The plugs have unusually narrow tips, which make insertion much, much easier for newbies - but they also poke me. Although the narrow tips can be helpful for some people, I did not particularly enjoy them. While the thin tips make the plugs easier to insert, beginners should be careful not to poke themselves.

I have used other plugs and dildos since buying this kit, and find that my sphincter does not rebel against blunt tips in the way that it did against the narrow tips of these butt plugs. This may be why not many butt plugs have narrow tips like these. The bases have pretty good suction on them, although the thin tips mean that you're likely to poke yourself if you try actually inserting or riding them that way.

I personally measured all of the plugs and used my own judgment. All 3 plugs have an insertable length of 3.75". The diameter of the flared base on each plug is 2.25"

For reference, the circumference of my index finger at the widest insertable point is 2.5"
Since measurements in inches pretty much mean nothing to me without a visual size reference, here is an image comparing the plugs to the size of my hands, in particular my index finger:

Plug Size Comparison

PURPLE PLUG:
Circumference at largest insertable point: 3.5"
Circumference of tip: 1.25"

The purple plug is slim and long, with the thinnest tip. I feel that it is the easiest plug to start with if you have never done any anal at all, but it is also the easiest plug to accidentally poke yourself with. I still don't find the thin tip very comfortable, although I still use it as a "starter" before I move on to other toys.

BLACK PLUG:
Circumference at largest insertable point: 3.75"
Circumference of tip: 1.5"

The black plug is probably my favorite. This one is a bit chunkier around the middle and curved in such a way that it offered nice g-spot stimulation. I measured this one several times, to make sure the curved shape was not influencing my judgment. It does appear to be .25" larger than the other two plugs, something you may want to keep in mind. I can't say what it would do for a p-spot, as I have only used these plugs solo, but the black plug is probably your best bet if that's what you're after. The tip is rounder, too, so there's less of a chance that you will poke yourself while inserting and using it.

PINK PLUG:
Circumference at largest insertable point: 3.5"
Circumference of tip: 1.5"

The pink plug is... weird. It's kind of bubbly. It offers some more stimulation than the others, but it did not do anything particularly special for my g-spot. It has a very nice sensation when you pull it out, though, similar to using larger anal beads. I would say that it is the most versatile, as the bumps make it possible to insert it to shallower depths. Its tip is also the roundest, so it's the least likely out of the trio to poke you.

These toys are not discreet. They look like butt plugs. If you leave them lying around, it's going to be pretty obvious what they are. Their small size does make them easy to conceal.

Performance

The material is nice and smooth, so it's easier to insert and remove. The first few times I used them, it felt uncomfortable and stung a little bit, but that actually turned out to be my lube and was not the fault of the toys at all. Now that I've switched lubes, they are very comfortable and do not sting.

None of them will stay in. They all have a tendency to pop out, which is disappointing. The tip of the purple one has a tendency to poke me, which means it's not good for wearing long term. The black one is probably the most comfortable to wear, but the tendency to pop out means you'll have to wear some tight shorts or underwear.

Care and Maintenance

These plugs are pure silicone, which makes them very easy to care for. You can boil them, put them in the dishwasher, use toy cleaner and antibacterial soap, or rinse them in a 10% bleach solution. If you want to be super safe (or don't want to deal with the idea of handling something that has been up your butt) you can cover them with a condom. In fact, it is probably still a good idea to use a condom if you plan on sharing them. Because they are silicone toys, it is best to use water-based lube.

These toys are very small, so they are easy to conceal and store. I store them in zip-lock bags stuffed into clean cotton rolled up socks. Stored in this manner, they're completely inconspicuous sitting next to my regular socks in the dresser. Unlike many other silicone toys, they don't seem to attract very much hair or lint.

Packaging

The packaging these toys came in was NOT discreet. Thank goodness my roommate has a sense of humor.

This Is How It Was Packaged When It Arrived

The plugs came in a plain brown box with paper cushioning. They were in a clear plastic bag which prominently displayed the words BEGINNER ANAL KIT. The words are HUGE, by the way. I removed them from the packaging to clean them, and stuffed the package in the recycle bin. Thanks to the light weight of the plastic packaging, the bag still popped back up to the top of the bin. I awoke the next morning to a text message from my roommate indicating that she was pleased that I had finally discovered the joys of anal sex. We had a good laugh over it. I also look forward to when the garbage man also learns about my tentative forays into sticking things up my bottom the next time he empties our recycling bin. That bag is evil and I know that it will somehow work its way up to the top of the bin again.

Incidentally, once opened the bag isn't any good for storing the toys. You will need to store them in a zip-lock bag or pouch.

Personal comments

I'm definitely glad I purchased this kit. The black plug, in particular, definitely works some wonders on my G-spot in a way that g-spot vibes and dildos really can't alone.

Experience

This is the very first anal kit I purchased. I bought it specifically because the plugs were thin and had narrow tips that are easier for a beginner to insert. I was still a little bit intimidated by them even though they are very small, because I was a complete newbie to the world of butt plugs and anal dildos. They taught me a lot about anal sex and butt plugs in general. First, I don't like thin pokey tips and need a rounder plug. Second, getting a plug all the way up my butt for the very first time is awkward and difficult, but not impossible (patience is a virtue). Third, although I have never been terribly enamored with the idea of anal sex, and didn't think it would do much for me, it can be quite enjoyable. If you have a partner who is interested but hesitant, this may be a good kit to start with.

The purple plug is the smallest, and is the first plug I tried. With a lot of lube and a little effort, I managed to get it all the way in. It was ok, but nothing particularly special. It offered a nice sense of fullness, but did not stimulate me in any specific way. It was still useful for working my way up to inserting the other plugs, and is the only plug that is slim enough that I was still able to fit a dildo into my vagina with ease.

I didn't think the black plug did much of anything at first, but once I had inserted it and began fingering myself, I was instantly soaking wet. It was like magic. The black plug is definitely a keeper.

The pink plug was different, and offered an experience closer to using anal beads. While it was not impressive while being inserted or worn, it was enjoyable when slowly pulled out again. If I don't switch to an entirely different set of toys such as my anal beads or dildo, it's nice to finish with.

Although I was not thrilled by how much the tip of the purple plug poked me, I think that if I had tried to start with a blunter plug I never would have gotten very far with butt plugs. Despite my irritation with the tips of the plugs, this was still a good kit to start with. In fact, I still warm up with the purple and black plugs before using my other anal toys. This kit also directly led to me purchasing a wider variety of anal toys and experimenting more in general.

Follow-up commentary
Although it's a "beginner" kit and I have other toys, I come back to this one a lot. It's really great for warming up before playing with other toys, and I'm definitely getting a lot of mileage for my money.
