-UseThe Icicles No.8 is a glass dildo. It has a shaft that’s six inches long with three waves along it, and a bulb, an inch-and-a-half sphere, which constitutes a wonderful handle. Down the center of the toy is a beautiful darkblue swirl, and the iridescence on the outside of it gives it just the tiniest bit of drag.

Because of its smooth-slim nature and with the gentle taper of the rounded tip, I’d suggest this to beginners to both anal play and glass sex-toys. One caveat: try not to thrust too hard with it. It's made of glass, which is quite unforgiving. If using it on a partner, take your time, use plenty of lubricant, and investigate any sign of discomfort immediately.

It can be used for anal-penetration (shaft-end-only!), vaginal-penetration with either end, and the waves stimulate the clitoris and the perineum nicely too. It can be heated in warm-water or chilled in ice-water to add dimension to your massage or play, and the round handle is great to work out tight knots in muscles.

-Material/TextureThe Icicles No.8 is made of solid Pyrex, aka tempered glass. It’s waterproof, sterilizeable, and good for temperature-play. It needs little lubrication before play, and it’s firm enough to be tilted against different pleasure-zones of the body.

I’d call this toy "semi-realistic." It's not shaped like a penis; however, the first wave at the tip of the shaft can simulate the head of one, and if you turn it around and use the bulb-end for penetration (vaginal-only here!) it feels even closer. It's odorless, tasteless, and non-porous.

-Design/Shape/SizeI love the Icicles line, especially the No. 8. The waves catch the light, and the swirl through the center is gorgeous. The loveliness of it makes it less threatening than some toys, which was the main reason we bought it. I was a scaredy-virgin. I'll admit it.

The actual shape is amazing, too. The quick clenching of the anus as the waves along the shaft make it open-and-close is very stimulating, but not overly so. The waves are well-tapered to provide as much glide in-and-out as it can, without pain, even for anal-virgins. This almost gives the rush of the first-penetration with every thrust and wiggle of the toy. And being narrow, it's fantastic for beginners, while its solidness makes it feel more-filling than it really is, meaning it's great for experienced and advanced users. Being made of solid glass it's fairly heavy, which I liked. The bulb keeps the toy from getting lost in the user's bottom, and it’s comfortable lying down, but I wouldn't walk far with it inserted. And why would you? It's not a butt-plug, it's a dildo, and we all know what those are for.

-PerformanceMy favorite part of this toy is the waves. You can feel every one of them as it slips in-and-out past your anus or the opening of your vagina, and it's just...delicious. And I know delicious. I'm a chef.

Like all glass toys, this can be completely sterilized in one-of-three ways: boil it in water for three-to-five minutes; wash in the dishwasher (top rack, no soap); or hand-wash in hot water with anti-bacterial soap.

The Icicles No.8 doesn’t come with its own storage-pouch like most glass toys do. However, you can get one here at Eden, or your local sex-toy-shop, or you could even make one! That's what I did. Just give it a loving home, safe from dings and cracks. If your glass toy chips or cracks, THROW IT AWAY IMMEDIATELY. That’s just dangerous.

-PackagingMy boyfriend and I bought our Icicles No.8 at a sex-toy-shop. It was packaged in a clear plastic clamshell, the toy on the left and the name on the right, with the boast "Ice it down, Heat it up!" underneath. It would’ve been great to store it in, but we were so excited we destroyed the clamshell getting into it.

-Personal CommentsExcluding my boyfriend’s cock, this is the most comfortable thing I have ever put in my butt. It’s without-a-doubt the most-used toy in our arsenal, followed by our Feeldoe. And believe-it-or-not, if you find your vagina getting too accustomed to the shaft, the bulb-end fits inside for a fuller, slightly-more-realistic feel. The shaft only requires a drop-or-two of lube, and it's ready to slip in for some anal fun. DO NOT insert the bulb-end into your anus. The rest of the toy is too thin and smooth to prevent losing the toy in there.

This is still probably our favorite toy, though the Feeldoe is gaining an extremely close second. As promised, I tried a couple different ways of using it with a harness. First, because we didn't have a real dildo harness, we tried a Japanese Shibari rope harness, and it worked beautifully! A couple weeks ago we acquired an Aslan Leather Vegan Commando dildo harness, and it works well in there too. So I would say that, depending on your harness, this toy could definitely be considered harness-compatible! Be warned though: If you're planning on an extended session with this toy, start with it NOT in a harness. It can get uncomfortable and leave a bruise on your pelvic bone if your harness doesn't have a back. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed my review and I still highly recommend this toy!
