A Must-Have Toy!

The Perk is simply a stellar toy. I am completely satisfied with it. Although I sometimes wish the vibes were a little stronger, the feel of the toy itself is just perfect. The Perk is how I would design a dildo for me, personally, if I were able to.

Use

This toy went way beyond my expectations. Now, I'm a male (who enjoys anal play), so I won't be able to tell you about how this toy feels for vaginal use. But I can say that this toy left me speechless.

I haven't used it with a partner yet, but it's perfect for using with a harness OR for solo play. I slipped a waterproof bullet in, and it's ready to go in the shower (my favorite place to play).

Material / Texture

The silicone of this toy is moderately firm. I've used floppier silicone before and assumed it was all the same – not so. The firmness of this toy is enough that it gives just slightly to the (firm) touch, but it will retain its shape throughout any thrusting, I'd say.

There isn't any smell at all: a big plus. It's smooth but still gives you a good rub when you're riding it. It is completely nonporous and holds lube well, but it doesn't tend to collect dust. Again, this toy is perfect; I can't say anything bad about the toy in this area.

Design / Shape / Size

The shape! I'm not a complete beginner when it comes to anal play, but I enjoy being able to use a toy without having to work really hard at relaxing just to get it in! The head looks a little blunt, but it slipped into my ass very comfortably with a little lube. The ridges on the head are well-rounded and comfortable. This toy is slightly curved, but it doesn't easily reach my P-spot (which it wasn't intended for anyway). At 4.25" in circumference, I can dive right in with this toy without much warm-up and feel completely full. It's a great thrusting toy, AND it can vibrate!

This toy is hollow to allow a vibrating bullet to be inserted. Even without a bullet, though, it's perfectly rigid enough to use. The cavern for the bullet is deep enough that the entire bullet can rest inside the toy without any part of it exposed at the end. This allows the dildo to rest on a flat surface or to be worn in a harness and not have the bullet poking the wearer or being turned on or off unintentionally (which is one of the downsides of the Buzz 1 by Tantus). Oh, and do be sure to add a drop of lube to the bullet when you insert it into the dildo, as without it, it can be difficult to remove.

The bullet that comes with this toy is made of plastic. It has an O-ring, but it claims not to be waterproof, so I wouldn't trust it.

Performance

This toy has definitely become my go-to toy when I want something in my ass. Many days I'll even use it without the bullet. With the bullet, however, it is just strong enough that I can feel it throughout the shaft and head. The included bullet has only one setting, but it is satisfactory, aside from not being waterproof. The vibrations weren't earth-shattering but were transmitted well throughout the shaft and head and were strong enough to make me moan.

Care and Maintenance

As with all pure silicone, the Perk can be cleaned by boiling (for three minutes), on the top rack of the dishwasher (without detergent), with bleach (10% bleach, 90% water), or with antibacterial soap and hot water. Personally, I love the option of boiling in case I ever want to use it with a partner. Currently, though, I just wash it before and after every use.

Packaging

The product came in a clear plastic bag with a cardboard tag along the top. The toy could clearly be seen as it sat in the bag, but the upside is that the minimal packaging is easily recyclable: a definite plus for me. The only downside to the packaging is that it doesn't really provide any sort of storage. I keep this, and my other few toys, in a nice cloth shoe mitt.

No instructions were included with the toy, but it was all fairly simple to figure out. All I had to do was remove a small piece of plastic that kept the batteries from touching the contacts inside the toy. Easy!

Follow-up commentary
Ok, so here we are, a few months later. And you know what? I still love it. That's right, in fact, I might like it more! After trying a few other items, I've returned to the Perk with a renewed appreciation and a renewed understanding.

The Perk is, after all, a strap-on dildo. When I originally wrote a review for this product, I had only used it on myself, but it's finally been used on me! Yes, my lovely girlfriend was very accommodating and I know realize how perfect this toy really is. The Perk's wonderful, fuckable 6 inches is just right for strap-on play. After trying the Mistress, I learned that there's a sweet spot to fucking: it's nice to have your partner thrust all the way into you, to feel her body meet your body, which is why after returning to the Perk, I feel that the length is just right. Any longer, for me, can be a bit uncomfortable. The 4.25 inches in circumference (which is easiest viewed by taking a length of twine, measuring, then creating a loop) is really just right. It feels full, but isn't too large so if your partner gets a little carried away, you should be safe (as an intermediate). And, as noted in the original review, there aren't any real edges on the toy, again making it nice and safe for a partner who may be a little new to moving her hips. :]

All in all, the Perk is a great strap-on dildo. It's versatile, in that it can hold it's own in solo or partner play, but it really does shine when it's strapped to your partner.
