Use

The Jellyfish by Whipspider Rubberworks can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used for vaginal play, in a harness with a partner, or for anal play. While the toy is a shorter dildo, the head isn't best for beginners as there isn't a taper for easier insertion. Because of the flared base, the toy is perfect for anal play, and if positioned correctly could possibly stimulate the prostate. For g-spotting, this toy is fantastic. While it holds little to no curvature, its bulbous head is great for rubbing against the g-spot when thrusting, and it's girth is great for stimulating the entire length of the vaginal walls. If you like the 'popping' sensation against the pubic bone, this toy has the ability to do that as well.

Whether you're in the shower, the pool, or the comfort of your bed, it's always time for jellyfishing! This toy is made of silicone, and there aren't any mechanical parts to worry about submerging if you're wanting to have some bath or pool fun. So let your imagination run rampant!

Material / Texture

The Jellyfish by Whipspider Rubberworks is made from premium silicone, and is of high quality. It rates a 10 out of 10 on the Eden safety scale, and has no smell or taste whatsoever. Out of the package, I did detect a small scent of something, but I assume this is a releasing agent from whatever mold they use to pour the silicone into. Silicone retains body heat, and is completely free of any harmful materials such as phthalates or rubber compounds. It is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and non-porous, so you don't have to worry about any nasties sinking into the dildo.

The material itself has a light squish to it, and I'd compare it to that of Vixen Creations' silicone toys (not Vixskin), but slightly more plush. It's flexible, and can bend rather easily, and it's fun to squish in your hand if you're holding it. The material is smooth and not as tacky as other silicone toys I've had experience with, which is an upside if you're waiting to use it while warming up, and it's laying on the bed or a towel to the side. While it does pick up some lint and dust, it's not a super magnet to every fiber floating around. However, the base doesn't have the matte finish that the dildo itself has, so it will attract dust and lint to it due to it's shiny finish.

This toy was not designed to be realistic but rather whimsical and fun. However, it has a phallic shape, so it feels slightly realistic when you're using it, as the head rubs against the g-spot if you maneuver it right. The slight give to the material helps with insertion, and when using with a lubricant, provides amazing results and sensations. The defining features of this toy are the long tentacle like 'veins' down the shaft of it, making up the legs of the jellyfish head. These 'legs' feel amazing when you're playing with this toy, and massage the vaginal/rectal walls as it glides in and out.

This texture along the shaft of the toy can be used by anyone, however, the size of the head is more for intermediate to advanced users, which will be explained/shown in the next portion of this review.

Features: Jellyfish 'head', 'tentacles' around the shaft, a floral-like design on the top of the toy (this cannot be felt during use), flared base for anal/harness play

Design / Shape / Size

The overall design of the Jellyfish is beautiful. It's handcrafted by some amazing artists to give you a unique and pleasurable experience. It has a slight curve, but due to the material being on the squishier and more forgiving side, it takes some maneuvering to stimulate the g-spot, even with the bulbous head it has. The size of the Jellyfish by Whipspider Rubberworks is an intermediate size, and isn't suited for beginners. While it is on the shorter side of dildos, it does have a round, non-tapered head that can be difficult for insertion if you're not used to it.

The measurements of the Jellyfish are as follows:

Overall length - 7"
Insertable length - 6"
Circumference: - 5-1/2"
Diameter - 1-3/4"

A standard mechanical pencil, Tantus Rocket, Jellyfish

While this toy is not realistically designed and more on the side of fantasy, it is in no way discreet. It's shape is very phallic, and if left out in plain view, people will know what this is used for. The toy is equipped with a flared base, so if you're looking to use this in a harness or for anal play, you can. I'm unaware of the current TSA laws, but this toy would definitely fit in your carry-on bag and/or your luggage, and is small enough that it wouldn't take up a lot of space during travel.

Performance

This toy has an overall 4 out of 5 performance and overall design. It's shape and texture leads to amazing stimulation when thrusting. While it doesn't have much of a curve, the perfectly bulbous jellyfish head makes this one bump against a g-spot relentlessly. The texture along the shaft provides extra stimulation and the flared base makes it perfect for partner or anal play. If this toy had a suction cup, it would be even better.

When fitted into a harness, the base takes up much of the space, and if you're bigger built, it doesn't leave much room for thrusting. I prefer using this toy to thrust by hand, as it's much easier than strapping it on for partner play. If you're more petite, there shouldn't be much of a problem I don't believe, as it's my stomach that gets in the way. If you're thrusting by hand, this toy does hold some weight, so you may be taking small breaks in between with this one, as one's hand can grow tired from holding onto it.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is very low maintenance, and easy to take care of. It should last you a lifetime with the proper care and treatment. To clean silicone, there are numerous ways you can go about it. If you're not sharing the toy, a simple rinse with mild soap and water should suffice, but be sure to get into all of the crevices and details of this toy, as there are a lot. A small, soft-bristled brush should do the job of getting into hard to reach areas if you're washing it under the tap.

If you are sharing this toy, you can wash it with a 10% bleach solution in 90% water, put it in the top rack of your dishwasher without detergent, or boil it for 3 minutes in a saucepan/pot, making sure not to let the toy touch the bottom or sides of the pan. You can also spray a disinfecting toy cleaner on the toy and then rinse it thoroughly if you choose. Because it is non-porous, you won't have to worry about fluids seeping into the toy. If you're boiling or washing it in the dishwasher, the silicone may retain a large amount of heat, so be careful upon removing the toy from the dishwasher or pot that you're washing it in. Allow the toy to air-dry, or pat it down with a lint-free cloth so that no particles are left behind.

To store it, put your toy back in the Ziploc bag it came in, or place it in a cool, dry place. Never store your silicone toys next to other toy materials as they could have the potential to 'melt' together.

Side note: I store all of my silicone toys together in a trunk touching one another and have no problems. However, always be sure that the toys you are storing together are silicone. If you're unsure, separate the toys, and do NOT allow them to touch.

The instructions on the card that came packaged with the toy say as follows:

To clean, wash with soap and water or boil in a saucepan for three minutes.
Do not use with silicone-based lubricants. (this means use water-based lubricants only)
Silicone is durable, but easily cut; keep your toy away from sharp objects.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

This toy came packaged in a plain, clear Ziploc bag. It also came with a certificate that has the Whipspider name on it, with information about the company and how to care for your toy. There weren't any instructions with the toy, but it's a dildo so it's very straightforward anyway. If you want, you can keep the Ziploc bag to store your toy in so that it keeps dust and dirt from sticking to the material, or you can simply toss it into the recycling bin. Because the packaging is very minimal, it wouldn't be ideal for gifting to someone, so you may want to buy a gift bag or box to put it in.

Personal comments

Unfortunately, this toy has been discontinued on the site, and as I recently found out, Whipspider Rubberworks no longer has a site in which they sell their toys. This is such a shame, because they were a really unique company, and their attention to detail is nothing short of mesmerizing. If you can find this toy elsewhere, I suggest grabbing it up. It's definitely worth having in your toy chest, and I am regretful that I never got any other whipspider toys. I was really looking forward to getting my hands on the larger tentacle toy they sold.
Follow-up commentary
Jellyfishing is still a favorite pastime of mine. This toy feels amazing if you love texture, and boy do I! I would have loved to have gotten my hands on other toys in this line/brand, but unfortunately that will not happen. It still glows just as bright as the day that I got it, and the glow lasts for about an hour if it's been out in the sunlight of my windowsill all day.

Yeah Wow, the head is so so big !

Thank you both! @OH&W, Lovebears Yeah, it's kind of difficult at times, even with lubricant for me because there's no taper of insertion, it's just massive and then has a giant dip. But! It's oh-so-good once it's in!

Terrific review on this dildo! I wish Whipsider Rubberworks was still in business. I have wanted this for years! I miss their Tentacle dildos, too.
