The Jellyfish dildo from Whipspider Rubberworks is my very, very first toy from this company and oh. my. word. That craftsmanship that goes into these toys is freaking incredible and truly unlike anything I've seen with ANY other sexual product, particularly with silicone which can be a finicky material. Right out of the package (just a simple plastic bag with a cute care tag inside) I was obsessed with examining every inch of the surface. The detail is that fantastic. At first I saw a bunch of little spheres sprinkled through the legs...tentacles...whatever they're called, that I assumed were defects and was pretty bummed. But after checking a few promotional shots of the dildo, and then looking back over this thing I realized they're actually supposed to be air bubbles, people! How many dildos are there with air bubbles! It just shows the amazing amount of thought and planning and creativity that goes into these designs and creativity goes a long way in my book. It's one of the major reasons that Fun Factory is probably my favorite sex toy brand: innovation and an active imagination!

I was intimidated by the texture of the Jellyfish far before I ever got it, in spite of how cute it is, far before I ever made the decision to wishlist it even. Its bulging head cut with shadowy grooves, thick shaft carved with knotted, entwined fishy-limbs that are maddening to attempt to unravel with the eye. This is a completely 100% top to bottom textured toy and this aspect has long put me off to it. Who the hell wants THAT much stimulation? A power sander seemed less daunting to my cowering vagina. Yet? I was pleasantly surprised by how much give this rather firm dildo had. Not floppy, but squishy and yielding to a nice hardy squeeze and also flexible enough to work with your sensitive bits and not against them. At seven inches in length with six of them being insertable and about 1.25 inches of width, that give matters. The flexibility made this texture somewhat easier to handle, although I talk more about this in the experience section.

The broad base makes this a comfortable toy for anal or vaginal use and will be comfortable for an intermediate range of experience for both. It's fully harness compatible with most harnesses including my Jaguar and Commando, although it hasn't seen much use in them for me because my partner has found this is perhaps too much texture for anal use. I can't personally vouch for this fact because this size of this challenges the higher end of my anal range for the time being. Jellyfish is also made from silicone which is a 100% non-porous material meaning it cannot absorb any bacteria. This makes it especially good for anal (if you can handle it) because a thorough cleaning of the surface will render your dildo quite clean. Bacteria can of course collect on the surface so be careful to boil for 3-4 minutes or wipe with a 10% bleach solution before using vaginally after anal use or before sharing! For daily cleaning a simply lathering with anti-bacterial soap and warm water should do the trick.

And besides being harness compatible and made from silicone all that jazz, it's one hell of a freaking looker. Seriously! Like art status people! I find myself pulling it out and turning it over in my hands just to look at the conjunction of the pink, teal and white swirls, glistening with a slight pearlescence. It even glows in the dark!!! I tried futilely to capture it with my camera to no avail, so you'll have to take my word for it when I say it's a pretty awesome experience to watch a glowing phallus disappear into you in the dark. Slightly eerie, but ultimately quite satisfying. The base, which is over a half inch long, has a hole for a bullet on it which has been filled with silver silicone. Whipspider allows for their insertable toys to be ordered with or without this cavity, although EF only carries the cavity-less types. Not a problem for me because I think if this dildo had any more stimulation I'd be unable to take it, yikes!

I gave this nautical cock fives stars because it really is a perfect toy is nearly every way. At least in the objective sense. But subjectively, in my very personal opinion this was not my favorite toy. It's the kind of dildo that I'll reach for when I want to feel moderately full and HIGHLY stimulated, but not one I'll go for when I want a nice stretched feeling or when I want firm G-spot pressure...or any G-spot pressure at all. Don't get me wrong: this CAN be angled to hit your spots, but it takes a little work and is a little anticlimactic (no pun intended) for myself. It does feel really good being slid in and out of my pussy slowly, and each ridge and ripple does give a very distinct sensation that I can't say enough about. That's truly the strength of this toy. However, this may really irk a lot of folks especially if you like to thrust rapidly - which I do. Every now and again I like to leave something hefty inside of me while I masturbate but this isn't really big enough to stimulate me while stationary. The sensation of slow thrusting is pleasant but frustrating. As I rub my clit and get closer to orgasm I want to start fucking myself hard and fast and...gah, I just can't do that with the Jellyfish.

I'm not getting rid of this toy because it's completely unlike anything else I've ever tried or owned in terms of the texture. For that alone I'm glad to own it. But beyond that it falls short for me in terms of my needs. But if you like moderate girth and length and don't need firm pressure on your G/P-spot then you may well enjoy it. Just make sure you can handle all the ripples and bulges this thing has because it's a lot to take, to be sure!

My poor jellyfish does not get pulled out as much as it probably should. Whenever I reach into my toybox for a dildo and I see him, too often I think "ehhhh, I don't know if I'm in the mood for that much texture right now." Sometimes I get stuck in routines with dildos and the ones that are a little too adventurous get neglected. Still, every time I take the time to break out the lube and slowly work this guy in I am in HEAVEN and I wonder why I hadn't done it sooner. The texture is unlike any other silicone toy I have, I mean it's just...COMPLETELY covered with ripples and veins and ridges, every single centimeter.

Definitely not an every day thing and it definitely requires a little prep, but I do still adore this thing.
