Whipspider Jellyfish - Watch out for that sting!

The Whipspider Jellyfish is a lovely, lovingly handmade toy with a ton of potential. Just be sure that you can handle the detailed and plentiful texture before you buy.

Use

The Whipspider Jellyfish is a whimsical, non-realistic toy with a high amount of texture and a flared base. The flared base both makes the Jellyfish suitable to use in a harness as well as anal use. The Jellyfish is fairly straight, and better used as a thrusting toy rather than a g-spot or p-spot toy. The Jellyfish sat well in my liberator BonBon, the flared base keeping it snug and secure. Since the Jellyfish is made of a medium density silicone, I would be comfortable letting a partner use this toy on me without fear of injury.

Material / Texture

The Jellyfish is a very textured silicone toy. The silicone is actually three different colors - a metallic blue and purple swirled together, a metallic pink, and a translucent, glow in the dark white at the tip. The colors are stunning and lovely to look at. The texture is extreme. Use caution and copious amounts of lube if you have any sensitivity to texture at all. The silicone of the Jellyfish is of a medium firmness; it can be bent and wiggled, but it holds it shape well as a thrusting toy.

Design / Shape / Size

The Jellyfish is pretty, straight toy with a pronounced head and a ton of texture. The size is listed as 7" (6" insertable) and 1 3/4" in diameter. I found the length to be accurate, and the diameter to be accurate for the tip where the toy is widest. While the measurements don't seem to be very challenging, the texture really makes the toy feel much larger than it is. The Jellyfish is not discreet in my opinion. While it is very artistic and non-realistic, it's fairly obvious that it's phallic, and what it's intended use is.

Performance

As much as I wanted to love this toy, it just wasn't for me. I like texture quite a bit, so I anticipated much love for my Jellyfish but for some reason I just couldn't get along with it! The texture was just too much, all over the place and it was painful for me to use even with virtual buckets of lube. I have a Whipspider Tentacle that I like quite a bit, and the texture doesn't seem much more raised or pronounced so I can't quite figure out why this toy did not work for me. I was also disappointed that I didn't get the "pop" I was wanting from the pronounced tip of the Jellyfish. The general shape was fine for thrusting, but the texture just made it too difficult to use with any kind of speed.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is a hygienic, durable toy material. It's easy to sterilize, and fairly simple to store. When storing your Jellyfish, make sure to protect it be covering it with cloth or a ziplock to keep it from touching other toys. To clean your jellyfish, you can put it in the dishwasher (only on the top rack, and never with detergent), boil it, or wash it with a gentle sop and water. Be careful to get it very clean when washing, as the ripples and crevices of texture can harbor bacteria if skipped. Only use water-based, silicone compatible lube with a silicone toy, as silicone lube can damage it. Watch out for lubricated condoms that don't list the ingredients of the lubricant used.

Packaging

The Whipspider Jellyfish comes in a very minimalistic clear plastic bag, with a simple paper insert from the Whipspider company.
