Ben-Wa Balls; Tiny Toy or Big Trouble?

All in all, these Ben Wa balls are just not worth it. They are so small that they offer little stimulation and so light weight that they didn't really work my PC muscles at all. The REALLY big issue here though, is the fact that they can get stuck and those terrifying moments of debating whether or not to have a doctor search for a sex toy lost in my vagina have crossed this toy off my list permanently.

Use

Ben Wa balls are designed to stimulate the vagina while working the PC muscles, increasing arousale and tightening and toning the vagina to intensify orgasms. They are meant for females only, as they could become lost if inserted anally.

Their small size makes them easy to use but difficult to remove and many people have reported issues with the balls becoming temporarily 'stuck'. Designs featuring removal cords may be a better option and these are currently available, though the cordless designs are still chosen by some.

Material / Texture

Doc Johnson's Ben Wa balls are made of smooth hard plastic. They have a seam running around them attaching the two sides and this may be felt somewhat by hand but I did not feel it during use. They have no noticeable smell or taste.

Design / Shape / Size

The fact that these are perfectly round and smooth purple balls makes it easy to pass them off as marbles or random game pieces that may be floating around the house and they would not be immediately recognized as sex toys at first glance.

Their small size and smoothness makes them ideal for beginners to insert, as they will not find the size to be too much and the Ben Wa balls slide in easily with little or no lube. I do prefer larger toys myself and would have liked a bit of added weight and size.

Performance

These Ben Wa balls are comfortable and not overly large or obtrusive, so you could keep them in while going out for the day and doing errands without finding them to be overly noticeable.

Occasionally one of the balls may click against the other, but this is a quiet sound easily masked by other movement or noises and would be no more suspicious than the clinking of change in your pocket (and it is quite a bit quieter than that!).

I did find that for the most part they stayed still and did not rub or stimulate me unless I was being very active, so I would rate them as a weaker pleasure object.

Care and Maintenance

Their smooth surface makes them easy to wash off and wipe dry, but the fact that they are plastic means that they cannot be 100% sanitized, so it is not a good idea to share these with a partner.

They can be stored easily due to their small size and innocuous design.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging on these Ben Wa balls is quite a bit larger than the balls themselves and would be inconvenient to store them in just because of the added shape of the clear plastic packaging. They do however come with instructions on how to use them.

Experience

The first time using Ben Wa balls, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard that they had been invented so that women could wear them during the day, toning and working their muscles while increasing desire and that the exercise they provided to pelvic muscles would strengthen orgasms.

I took one of the small purple balls in my hand, looking it over and feeling the weight of it before inserting first one and then the other. I could feel a light sense of pressure but they are fairly little and not very heavy. It didn't take any effort to keep them in place, even when perfectly relaxed, my muscles seemed to be holding them without really working at it. It seems like they are too small to be really stimulating to me and too light to be working my PC muscles at all.

The upside is that they are very quiet and you can go about your daily routine without walking funny or any of that jazz, so if you like a very light sensation (that you have to focus on to notice much) then you may enjoy these, but I had been expecting something more intense.

When it came time to remove them, I tried pushing them out using only my vaginal muscles, but no luck. I could feel the Ben Wa balls shifting around a bit but they seemed no closer to coming out. After a few more minutes of this, I tried frantically searching online and found out that many other women have also had temporary issues with Ben Wa balls becoming 'stuck'. Following advice I found on a forum, I used my index finger to push firmly on the front wall of my vagina and the first ball came out. I had to repeat the process for the second ball, which at first was not working. By the time I managed to remove that one I was stressed and worried. After all, how could I go to the doctor and explain that I had somehow lost a tiny ball in my vagina?

After removing them both I decided that from now on the only types of balls I will even attempt inserting are those that have withdrawl cords on them and a few days later I went out and bought Lelo's Luna Balls, which I have been very happy with thus far and never experienced any problems using.
