Versatile, Bubbly Little Guy

As my first specialized g-spot vibrator, this toy was an excellent choice. The material it's made of is super smooth, and the design and color are delightful. It's more than just a g-spot vibe: it provides all sorts of stimulation to the clitoris, vagina, perineum, and anus. It's extremely versatile and is easily my favorite toy. Its compact size means that while anybody who knows what a g-spot vibe looks like will recognize it for what it is, it's still easy to conceal.

Use

According to Wonderland's advertisements, the Pleasurepillar is intended to be used as a g-spot vibe. I found that it fell a bit short at this, but it performs incredibly well at clitoral and external anal stimulation (personally, I would not attempt to insert this toy into the anus). It is intended for use by a woman. The curved head is supposed to stimulate your g-spot while the ribs provide vaginal stimulation. It's generally meant to be used solo, but your partner could use it on you as well. It works fairly well for perineal stimulation, which some men find pleasurable. I have also used it for anal stimulation while using anal toys and it works well for that, as well. I also enjoyed using it to tease my nipples.

Material / Texture

Although the base is plastic, the functional part of the toy is non-porous silicone. The silkiness of the silicone material surprised me, at first. I spent a while simply stroking the toy without even turning it on because it felt so nice against my fingers and the back of my hand. Not surprisingly, it feels equally nice when you use it to stroke other regions. Almost every part of the toy is at least slightly rounded. It had no smell and a neutral taste.

Design / Shape / Size

The Pleasurepillar has a whimsical, bubbly design. I find the turquoise color of the toy to be unique and attractive. It is approximately 5.75" long, with an insertable length of roughly 3.75". I had no reason to insert it that far, but the length means that it should be able to reach most womens' g-spots. It has a circumference of 4.25" at the final "bubble", which is its thickest part.

Size Comparison

The head flexes slightly, which makes finding and targeting your g-spot easier, but it isn't so flexible that it's useless for applying the pressure that you need. Almost every part of this toy except for the handle is curved or rounded in some way. Its small size and general ease of use makes it suitable for beginners. It's also waterproof (which I honestly feel that in this day and age almost every vibrator should be).

It's not super-discreet to anybody who knows what a g-spot vibe or dildo looks like, but most people without much sex-toy experience may assume that it is a massager. Because it is so small, it is very easy to tuck into your luggage or even your purse. It can be easily concealed in a pillow case, sock, or makeup bag. It may even fit into some larger glasses cases.

Functions / Performance / Controls

DESIGN and PERFORMANCE:
For such a simple toy, the Pleasurepillar is quite well designed. It only requires a single AA battery - a nice change of pace from the behemoth I owned about 10 years ago that sucked up D batteries like crazy. I have owned it for roughly 3 months, and even with almost daily use, it is still running off of the same AA battery I put in it when I got it. The vibration you get out of such a small battery is satisfactory, but not mind-blowing. Installing and changing batteries is extremely easy because you just screw the bottom off with your hands, like a soda bottle cap. You don't need a tiny screwdriver or a coin because there are no screws to deal with. I have not had any issues with the end accidentally unscrewing or popping off.

It's fairly quiet and makes only a slight buzz. The end of it glows a bright aqua color when it is on, which is not necessarily discreet if you don't want anybody to see it under the covers. It makes the vibrator easier to use and locate in the dark if you set it down and drop it, and it's a visual indicator that you've accidentally left the vibrator on. That's good, because this vibrator is quiet enough that forgetting you left it on could potentially become a problem. This toy is waterproof and the battery chamber seals very well. I have had no issues with water getting inside of the toy, and it is quite enjoyable to use in the shower.

Functionality and Design

SETTINGS and CONTROLS:
Pushing the button on the bottom turns the vibrator on, and each successive button press switches to the next of ten total settings. Vibration patterns are a little bit hard to describe, but I'll try my best. When I say "wave", I mean it vibrates in several pulses as the intensity slowly builds. When I say "pulse", I mean it starts out less intense and ends more intensely over the course of a single fairly quick vibration, and then quickly trails off. When I say "buzz", I mean that the intensity of the vibration remains the same throughout, and that the vibration itself lasts less than a second.

1 - Constant intense buzz
2 - Constant medium buzz
3 - Constant low buzz
4 - Building wave
5 - Steady throbbing pulse
6 - Stronger throbbing buzz
7 - Quicker strong throbbing buzz
8 - Slower medium pulse
9 - Slower medium throbbing buzz
10 - Low quick pulse

Each setting is enjoyable in its own right, although I admit that I like the higher settings better.

Because it's a single button, it's very easy to operate. My main issue with it is that the button to change settings is on the very bottom, so I tend to hit it a lot by accident. When I first got it, I also couldn't figure out how to turn it off without reading the instructions. You have to hold the button down firmly for 2 full seconds in order to turn the toy off.
    • Discreet sound
    • Long lasting power
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

The insertable part of the toy is pure silicone. The base is plastic, though, which limits some of your cleaning options. I personally spray it with toy cleaner, and wash it with antibacterial soap and the hottest water I can stand. I don't think it's a good idea to try to boil it because of the plastic base, but it stands up to running water that is hot enough to give off steam. The bumpy body and curved head make it a little bit of a pain to clean if you let anything dry on it, and getting in the ridges can be a little difficult, but generally it is easy to care for.

You can keep it in its little "book" box, or do what I do and store it in a clean cotton bag. It will attract a little bit of lint, but not very much. Because the body is made of silicone, it is best to use water-based lube. It is unwise to use silicone lube with silicone toys.

Packaging

Packaging

The packaging that this particular toy comes in is attractive. It is intended to look like a fake book. This illusion will not hold up to close examination, but anybody who gives it a cursory look will assume it's just another book, game, or DVD case sitting on your shelf. I think that this would be a nice gift for a friend or lover because the box it comes in is so pleasant looking.

    • Good for storage

Personal comments

This is the first specialized g-spot vibe I've tried, although I'm not a stranger to g-spot stimulation. It was actually recommended by a friend, and after reading other reviews I purchased it. I was a bit worried and, I admit, a little bit confused by the whimsical shape. I'm glad I bought it, though, as it is currently my favorite toy. It serves so many different functions that it really is indispensable. I can't wait to see if a male partner enjoys it as much as I do. The lowest setting might be fun to use to tease a pair of balls, and a man may enjoy using it to tease the perineum and external anal region as much as a woman does. The unique hooked shape of the head means that it may be possible to hold the nose against the front or rear of the vagina while you ride your partner so that the both of you can enjoy the vibrations together.

Experience

When I first got this toy, it was pretty easy to pop it open and figure out where the batteries go. It was just as easy to figure out how to use it. I was using it within 5 minutes of opening and washing it. The velvety silicone felt wonderful against my labia.

I found that the AA battery in this particular toy just didn't offer the "rumble" I needed to really stimulate my g-spot. Thankfully, it's excellent for more than just g-spot stimulation, using the head to stroke my clitoris is extremely effective. In fact, the nose of the "caterpillar" is extremely effective for pinpoint clitoral stimulation. I have found that I can actually hook the nose into my vagina to provide distant g-spot stimulation while laying the bubble section of the neck against my vaginal opening and clitoris, which is wonderful. The head is rounded, silky, and flexible enough to actually rub over my clitoris without irritating it, kind of like a big velvety vibrating finger. I can also turn it around and hook the nose under my clit, which is equally enjoyable. Using this toy to stimulate the perineum while wearing a butt plug also feels quite nice, just be sure to thoroughly wash and disinfect the head if it comes in contact with your anus before using it vaginally again.
    • Hits more than one spot
    • Multi-use
Follow-up commentary
This vibrator is too small and the vibrations are just too weak to keep me happy. The sharp angle of the head, and the fact that it catches on my pubic bone, have gradually become more irritating. I've since moved on to other, more satisfying, toys.
