Flying High

The Flight is a wonderful addition to the Fleshlight range, with its mind-blowing internal texture and sleek outer case. It's definitely my favourite Fleshlight to date.

extremely useful review
The Flight is the newest variation in the Fleshlight case, following on from the “Sex in a Can” and the Blade/Sword products. Visually it's a far more appealing product to look at than the standard flashlight-style design, instead bearing more of a resemblance to an expensive flask or water carafe. The surface of the case is slightly textured, which not only adds grip to the product, but which also gives the plastic a sleek carbon-fibre look. In terms of size the Flight is a smaller product than the conventional Fleshlight, measuring in at a total height of only 8" and 3" wide, as opposed to 10" x 4". I found that I preferred this more compact design due to its reduced weight and less cumbersome nature. The base cap of the Flight is slightly impractical as it’s angled, which means you can't stand it upright on that end., and if at any point during use you need to put it down, then you have to lie it on its side. Like with other Fleshlights the base cap can be loosened or tightened to adjust the amount of suction felt within the toy during use. Unfortunately no matter how tightly you screw the cap down a small amount of air will still leak in, preventing you from achieving a complete vacuum, but in my experience the Flight offered a stronger sucking sensation than with other models.

The opening of the Flight is very similar to the design of the Pure, only with some whirlpool-like grooves spiralling towards the centre, possible intended to resemble the turbines of a jet engine. This is probably one of my favourite openings thus far; as it's not as tight as the anal opening on the “butt” models it's much easier to slide yourself inside, without needing so much force. You gently slip in, as opposed to the “pop” sensation you get with the butt, which on the whole I found to be a more comfortable experience. The opening is about half an inch wide, which makes it very easy to apply lube to the inside of the Flight, simply by squeezing a bottle or sachet over it.

The official Fleshlight website lists the insertable length of the Flight as being only 6" long, which had me a little concerned at first, but I measured it for myself and the internal length of the insert is actually just slightly under 7", and therefore should be suitable for around 9/10 men to use without a problem. I found, when using it, that if I thrusted as far as possible I could feel myself bumping up against the end cap, but I wouldn't classify it as being especially problematic. There isn't a lot of motivation to actually thrust that deeply, as the final inch of the canal is completely smooth, so you're not missing out on much, if anything, if you don't go all the way down there. The internal texture of the Flight has to be one of my favourites that I’ve tried. Just beyond the opening are some subtle bumps, followed by pronounced nodules, then the canal tightens to a narrow point, which is followed by more nodules, and finally it concludes with a ribbed section.

What impressed me is that you can really feel each individual section, even more so if you take it slowly to begin with. The noduled areas are really good at stimulating all over and around the head of the penis, especially down the nerve-rich frenulum. As you move between the two noduled sections you’re aware of the tight ring separating them, and you feel a slight pop as you push through it. The best way I could describe would be as an intimate massage for the whole penis; you want to take long, slow, deep thrusts so that you can feel each section, and be driven crazy by all the nodules tickling and teasing you over every inch. When you screw the cap down firmly and add more suction the individual sections seem to become less apparent, but you get a deeper massage-like feeling in the process. The whole sensation feels so wonderful that it's actually almost a shame to reach climax, because the run up to it becomes the best part, but when you finally are ready you're guaranteed a powerful orgasm. One initial concern that I had was that because of the Flight's smaller size it might prove tighter than the other models, but happily this wasn't the case, and it can still easily accommodate a good girth inside.
Experience
The Flight uses a clear "Ice" style insert, which is a bit of a strange design choice considering that the case is opaque. One of the biggest differences between the standard pink material and the clear is that the clear becomes incredibly sticky when you wash it. This stickiness in turn adds significantly more maintenance time to caring for your Fleshlight. The Flight does look good, with the frosted glass appearance of the clear insert contrasting against the sleek black case, but it really is a matter of form over function. I would have preferred that they had used a coloured insert instead; maintenance is probably the number one complaint of every Fleshlight owner, so anything they could have done to reduce that would have been greatly appreciated.

Talking about maintenance, the Flight doesn't come packaged with a protective plastic rod inserted in the centre, so when you first get it the inside has a thin coating of powder which you’ll really want to wash out prior to using it. If you don't then that powder will just form into a paste as soon as you squirt lube in there, and it’ll end up stuck to places you'd rather it not be. Fleshlight maintenance on the whole can be a bit of a nuisance. To make cleaning easier the ends of the case can both be removed and the insert slipped out, allowing each part to be washed separately, before being left somewhere to air dry. Once the insert has dried you'll then notice that aforementioned stickiness to the surface of material, which is perfectly normal. You can store the insert this way if you choose, but the tacky surface makes it rather awkward to slide it back into the case, and it just generally isn't that nice. To restore the material to its original condition you’ll need to powder the whole surface with a thin layer of corn starch. Needless to say this is somewhat time-consuming and can make a bit of a mess. On a positive note I did observe that the Flight required less time to air dry than my other two Fleshlights, presumably because of its smaller size.

Even with the maintenance taken into account, I would whole-heartedly recommend the Fleshlight Flight to anyone without hesitation. It's compact, discreet, and most importantly it feels incredible. If you're looking for a premium quality masturbator at a reasonable price, then this is definitely the one to go for.
Follow-up commentary
Out of the three Fleshlights I have, and my Tenga Flip Hole, the Flight still remains my absolute favourite masturbator, and the one I use the most. I still think that the clear material is a drawback though, as I feel sure I'd use it even more frequently if the maintenance wasn't such a hassle.
