Coconut/Vanilla (Desserted Island) Scented

The Velveteen Hand Creme by Cake Beauty is a thick, luxurious hand creme that will leave your skin feeling smooth and moisturized for hours after applying. Not to mention you will smell quite delicious, but don't be tempted to eat this creme because it shouldn't really be ingested. This hand creme comes in Coconut/Vanilla, Raspberry Kiss/Vanilla, It's a Slice and Unscented so there are plenty of scent options for everyone to enjoy.

Ingredients:

Water/Eau (Aqua), Glycerin, Cetyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Cetearyl alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Dimethicone, Stearic acid, Althaea officinalis (marshmallow) extract, Milk Lipid, Mangifera indica (Mango) seed butter, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl glycol, Sorbic acid, Carbomer, Sodium hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA.

This light tan-colored hand creme is rich and thick but is easily squeezed out of the squishy tube bottle it comes in. It is not runny enough to make a big mess but it also isn't so thick that you can't spread it easily. This creme feels lightweight and absorbs easily into the skin after about 2-5 minutes of rubbing it in. It does not feel greasy or sticky after applying, it just leaves skin feeling soft and supple with a nice scent that lingers for hours. A little goes a long way with this creme so it is worth the higher price you would pay for it.

It is not suggested to ingest this hand creme but if you do accidentally touch your lips and then lick them, you'll notice it tastes quite nasty like most lotions that aren't made to be eaten.

The scent is like a milky, sugary vanilla mixed with a little bit of coconut which ends up smelling like baked cookies after it's been rubbed in. I actually put this on my hands one night before bed and woke up smelling baked goods. I had forgotten about the scent of the lotion at first and thought someone was making cookies or some other tasty baked foods in my kitchen.

The Desserted Island scent is not overpowering unless you're one of those people who prefer unscented products and it's not a floral scent so even the menfolk could possibly appreciate this hand creme. The scent will last for over eight hours if you don't constantly wash your hands, so reapplication will be needed if you want to maintain the cookie smell.

This hand creme did very well at moisturizing the skin without being too slick, but reapplication is necessary if you wash your hands a lot. This may not be the hand creme for you if you need intense moisturization, but it does make a pretty great everyday lotion. Just be sure the tube does not get pushed on too much in your bag/purse or it will burst open and become a squishy mess. The moisture and scent from this hand creme absorb very easily and last for over eight hours without washing it off, but if you need to it does wash off quite simply with soap and water.

Only concern with this was that it contains glycerin and fragrance (for those sensitive to those ingredients).

The 3.4 fluid ounce plastic tube with flip top cap came wrapped in a plastic bag that was tied in a knot. The bottle can stand up on a flat surface and just a slight squeeze will dispense the creme. This is a great size for tossing your purse or bag and when the tube is empty you can just cut it open and rinse it out to be recycled.

There are natural ingredients in this lotion and it is also parabens free.

I got this on a Facebook Friends deal and wasn't sure how well I was going to like it or that I could even use it because of some of the ingredients. I was happy when I didn't have an allergic reaction to it because my skin is pretty sensitive.

I've been using this hand creme since I first got it and have been very happy with its performance. It moisturizes very well and the tasty scent lasts a good long time. Granted it does need to be reapplied if I wash my hands a lot but I'd say this hand creme is worth a serious try. I did once get some of this in my mouth and I can tell you it tastes nothing like cookies or baked goods, it's just downright gross so I wouldn't advise trying to eat this lotion.
