Use

The Dona Plumping Lip Balm is the third item from the Dona line that I've tried. The lip balm comes in six different scents, each infused with an aphrodisiac ingredient. This lip balm works for a variety of purposes. It works as a lip plumper, for which the effects are subtle. I already have fairly full lips, but I did notice the tingling sensation upon applying the gloss and a slightly thicker appearance to my lips.

Here's what my lips look like without the lip balm:

Here are my lips a few minutes after applying the balm:

This balm also works well as a moisturizer. I frequently have chapped lips and have noticed some improvement in the condition of my lips since beginning to use this product. I don't think it would work very well for severely chapped lips, but for the occasional dry skin and for everyday use, it works well. I also love using this under lipstick for a glossy appearance and to make the color pop. This also contains mangosteen, which is an aphrodisiac, though I have not noticed any changes to that effect.

The ingredients in this lip balm are:

Olea Europeae (Olive) Fruit Oil, Beeswax, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Riicinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Menthoxypropanediol, Tetrahexyidecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Vanillyl Butyl Ether, Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen), Flavor

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lip balm is much more slippery than the Blistex chapstick I generally use. It makes my lips look shiny and functions almost like a very light lip gloss. I love the texture of this on my lips, which is not as thick as many varieties of chapstick and lip gloss. It feels like a very light oil almost, but does not feel greasy.

Taste / Aroma

The flavor of this lip balm was disappointing. I ordered the mangosteen and expected it to smell fruity. Instead, what I got was sort of an odd toffee smell. It was somewhat off-putting at first, but I have gotten used to the scent. The flavors are apparently named for the aphrodisiac ingredient they contain, which is not necessarily what they will smell like. I would have liked something sweeter smelling, because the scent seems sort of dissonant as something I'd wear on my lips. This balm has no discernible taste.

Performance

The tingling sensation lasts for about five minutes when I apply this. The lip balm stayed on my lips for an average amount of time when worn alone and even longer when worn under lipstick. It absorbed nicely into my lips and did not leave any sort of residue.

Packaging

The packaging is very discreet and classy. There is a sticker that says "aphrodisiac-infused" on the cap, but it peels off easily.
    • Discreet looking packaging

Special Features

This lip balm causes a slight tingling feeling. The tingling was light and was not painful. The lip balm also has mangosteen, which is an aphrodisiac, however, I have not noticed any effects thus far from using it.

Personal comments

This lip balm seems to melt easily. I had it briefly in my pocket and noticed it had melted a bit. I would suggest storing it in a cool place.
Follow-up commentary
Though I still really enjoy this balm and use it daily, it's no longer as smooth as it was when I first got it. When it first comes out of the tube, it's a little gritty, which is kind of offputting. Luckily, the grit seems to dissolve pretty easily. I still like this, but it would be much better if it didn't get gritty!

I agree with you about the Mangosteen one being disappointing...I was expecting it to be fruity like the other Mangosteen products but to me the smell was just nasty & I did not like it, so i tossed it...lol...Great review

So the other mangosteen products smell different than the lip balm? How interesting.
