Venus body butter - body moisturizer discontinued by Venus - review by Zombirella

Venus Aromatic Body Butter is a thick, luxurious body moisturizer. It can be used anytime, anywhere you have dry skin or feel the need to moisturize. With the variety of scents here, there is something for everyone. Thicker lotions like this are great for extra dry and rough skin.

I will mention caution for those that have reactions to parabens.

I chose the Pineapple Tangerine scent and the ingredients on the tub read:
aqua, cocoamide dea, cocoamidopro pyl betaine, sodium lauryl sulfate, glycerin, carbomer, triethanolamine, fragrance, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, imidiazolidinyl urea, fragrance, may contain: fd&c yellow 3. fd&c blue 1 and fd&c red 33.

The texture of the body butter is much thicker than any lotion I have tried. I am a major fan of CAKE and Bath and Body Works due to the thickness, and this stuff is thicker than both of those. It feels smooth when rubbed into the skin. There is a bit of a greasy feeling at first but it doesn't hang around long at all and soaks in well. The butter stays where you put it.
Since it is in a plastic tub, you have to scoop it out with your fingers.

I LOVE pineapple anything and was excited to try this scent since I haven't found it anywhere else. When I first unscrewed the cap and removed the safety seal I could instantly smell the sweet, juicy goodness! The scent just made my mouth water and smelled like fresh cut pineapple. I can't get a hint of tangerine, but that is okay because I was hoping the pineapple would be the overpowering scent. It is such an uplifting scent, reminds of summer and cold tropical coladas!
The scent is very noticeable, strong but not headache inducing. When it comes to fruity scents though, for me, the stronger the better! I want people to smell how yummy I am!

This body butter is great for using right out of the bath or shower. It's even better when paired with the matching body wash or scrub, which are equally heavenly in scent. It lasts a decent amount of time on the skin, I applied it to my my entire body in the morning and at 7pm I don't feel dry. I did reapply it to my hands though, but I am a lotion addict and constantly putting it on, especially after hand washing. I have to have smooth, soft hands!
The thickness is great for just shaved areas and really moisturizes deep into the skin.
It will wash off easily but I don't know why you would want to wash it off after applying it.

The tub it comes in is plastic and tasteful. It looks like a spa product. It isn't purse sized but can be put in your overnight bag or suitcase. There is information about ingredients and how to contact the company as well as a couple warnings on the label.

I just love this stuff! I wish I would have tried it sooner while the sale was going on. I have more lotions than I know what to do with but I just had to order this scent. I just can't put into words well enough how AMAZING this stuff smells. It will definitely be great to cheer me up when the winter months hit (though I do get excited to stock up on Bath and Body Works Peppermint lotion). Mandarin mango is next on my list. I hope Eden always carries the pineapple scent because I'm a fan for life now!

The only thing I find wrong with any of the Venus products are the prices, WOW! But that won't stop me from tossing a bottle of body wash or scrub into my cart along with the lotion when I run out.
