Honey dust - edible powder discontinued by Kama Sutra - review by LivingandLoving

I bought KamaSutra Honey Dust as a surprise for my boyfriend a few months ago, and I must say that I LOVE it! I mostly use it on myself to have a little extra fun with my man, but I also enjoy using it just to keep dry. CarrieAnn's excellent review mentioned this as well, but I'll just reiterate that when you sweat, it doesn't make you sticky as you might expect of a product with sugar in it. Instead, the cornstarch in it keeps you dry. As the weather gets warmer, I'm learning to appreciate that function on a whole new level! If you happen to spill it or put too much on though, it washes away with water.

The Strawberries and Champagne flavor that I got tastes mostly of strawberries and not much of the champagne. It's not a candy or jelly kind of strawberry flavor, though. It's definitely sweet, but not overly so. I do appreciate that KamaSutra uses real glucose sugar with some saccharin instead of aspartame, which I usually find has a strange aftertaste. It's all in preference, but if you prefer real sugar and you are not diabetic, this is a great tasting product. The powder also smells lightly of strawberries, and as long as you put it on sparingly the scent isn't overpowering.

The canister of honey dust also comes with a feather applicator, which is pretty sturdy with a wooden handle, and a satin sort of bag which presumably is for storage. I used the bag for something else entirely because while pretty, it's just not practical. One note about the feather applicator: if you have a cat, keep it WAY out of reach. My cat got ahold of it and carried it down two floors. By the time I realized what was making so much noise on the kitchen floor, she was starting to bite it. To KamaSutra's credit, none of the feathers fell out, and I snatched it away before she could do any real damage. Feathers don't take to cleaning very well, so I recommend preventing cat attacks in the first place.

Since I was surprising my boyfriend, I put some honey dust on right before bed when he was brushing his teeth. As soon as we started making out, he nuzzled my neck and mumbled, "Mmmmmmm! You smell like strawberries!" Immediately after that he started kissing my neck and delightedly exclaimed, "Tastes like strawberries too!" He sounded like a kid in a candy shop who just discovered a new sweet, and the best part was that the sweetness was on my skin.

After a few more uses, my fiance and I still LOVE this honey dust. We've used it on both of us by now, and since we both like strawberries, it's a treat for us to spice things up a bit. I've seen some different posts on the forum about flavors, and my only advice is stick with what you already like. I bought the strawberries and champagne flavor specifically because my fiance mentioned liking strawberries, and I like them too. I'm not sure what he thinks of honeysuckle, so for now I'll wait and maybe get that flavor in a gift pack or something smaller to just try out. With that said, this is the only flavor I've tried myself, but I like it a lot. It really does taste like strawberries, not strawberry-candy flavoring.
I've also tried occasionally wearing the honey dust under my clothes as a "surprise" for later, but I think it rubs off on my clothes so I usually have to reapply it. It's still nice for keeping me dry, but I just wouldn't expect the sweetness to last for hours after you get dressed. Overall, I LOVE this honey dust, and when it eventually runs out (which won't be for months, at least), I'll be buying more!
