Body dew silky body oil - body moisturizer discontinued by Classic Erotica - review by Hot 'N Sexy TexasMama

The Sassy Citrus Body Dew Body Oil by Classic Erotica is a wonderful product...if you don't mind a bit of oil. It is a pheremone-enhabced, perfumed body oil that is meant to be used on your body. The label states that it should be used after a bath or shower and prior to drying. You are supposed to gently massage this onto damp, moist skin and massage it in a circular motion.

Although this does not sting like some products might if they have alcohol in them, I would not use this on my genitals just in case of an allergic reaction. I also would not spray this in a room or on any clothing or sheet sets because of the amount of oil that is in this spray. When I spray this onto my body, it feels almost as if I'm using baby oil or mineral oil on my skin. Mind you, it is a scented oil that smells great, however, it is oil none the less.

The ingredients in this product are: Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Copuline-alike, Copulandrone, Reconstitued Andronone, Retinyl Palmitata (Vitamin A), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), BHT, Fragrance (Parfum)

According to the company's website this product is paraben-free, sulfate-free and sugar-free. It is made in the USA and no animal testing is done with it. This product is also part of the Body Boudoir line by Classic Erotica which is made up of three fragrances in the body oil and six fragrances in some of the other product options. I will have more on that near the end of the review.

As with all bath and body products, if you suspect you might have any reactions, it is always good to do a patch test first on your body.

This product has a very oily texture and feels very much like baby oil or mineral oil. When you spray it on your arm, it is very runny and looks like this:



That was two pumps of the spray when I only needed one but I wanted you to see how runny it is. It is designed to be used on wet skin and my skin was dry at the time so I could show you how it will run.

I tested it today in water to see what would happen since this is designed to be applied to your wet body before drying off. Here is what happened when it was first put into water:

Once you rub it into your skin, the oily feeling goes away within a couple of moments and your body feels soft.

My husband and I both describe this as a "tangy, zesty lemon". Its almost like lemon pledge but with more tang to it. As I've shared before with some other lemon scented products, when I think of lemon scents I think of either Love's Soft Lemon which a warm and sweet lemon or I think of Jean Nate' which is a stronger almost alcohol smelling lemon that is tart. This is closer to Jean Nate' than it is to the Love's product.

Yet, while I describe this as a zesty lemon...it actually has grapefruit and orange flower in it for the scent. Surprise, surprise!

So, I went to Basenotes and used their fragrance directory to search for other fragrances that contain both grapefruit and orange flower and the site gave me 12 fragrances that have these products in them. I'm picking a few and sharing about them so if you are familiar with these scents, perhaps you can imagine what this sounds like.

Beyond Paradise Blue by Estee Lauder has grapefruit as one of its top notes and orange flower as one of its middle notes.

Effusion for Him by Iceberg also has grapefruit as a top note and orange flower as a middle note.

Hervé Léger Femme by Herve' Ledger has pink grapefruit as a top note and orange flower as a middle note.

Miami Glow by J.Lo also has the same ingredients in the same positions for the notes.

Real for Her by American Eagle also has the same ingredients in the same notes.

For those who might not know - fragrances are usually made up of ingredients in a top note, which you smell first and then a middle note which follows the initial scent and then a base note which is what lingers. If you are familiar with any of those fragrances above and like them, you may enjoy this fragrance too.

Unfortunately while this has a strong smell when you first use it - it dies down to a lighter scent after a few moments and within half an hour you are left with just a very light fragrance.

I want to start out by clarifying the fact that while the product feels oily at first, as if you were using baby oil or mineral oil, the purpose of this product is to lock in moisture for your skin to nourish it and keep it from drying out. Once you rub this into your skin, you don't feel greasy or oily for more than a few seconds.

In addition, your skin stays soft for a long time. One of the times I used this, my skin was still soft about 20 hours later. I was shocked because we're having a dry and somewhat cold winter (for us) right now and I had been applying some other products every 6 hours or so.

The scent is very strong when you put it on and it softens or fades within a few moments. Unfortunately, that lemony tart smell just does not continue for long. Of course, with any fragrance, the best thing to do is to layer your products so that the scent will last longer. When used with the body fragrance listed at the end of this review, the scent lasts much longer.

This is packaged in a 8 ounce fluid bottle with a pump spray nozzle and clear cap. The best way to describe it is to show it to you here:



While you may not be able to read the label in this photo below - you can see that the bottle is fairly informative.

I do not know which of these scents and products Eden carries right now as I'm pulling this information off the company's website.

I want to add one final thought here. This product states that it has pheromones in it. I have not dealt with that claim at all in this review. I only based my review upon how this product worked on my skin and how much I enjoyed the scent.

At this point in my life, I'm not interested in attracting others. I simply want to attract My Man and he likes me in almost anything - even coffee or spaghetti sauce or onions!

Also - while this product states that it can be used in the tub (on their website), I have not used it that way as I prefer to take showers.
