The Body Dew Silky Body Oil is a lightly-scented body oil that can be used as a moisturizer or fragrance. It can be used in place of or in addition to perfume or body spray. It's not intended as a massage oil and because of its viscosity, it would not perform well as such. This product is also not intended as a lubricant and is incompatible with condoms. The bottle suggests using after bathing or showering, before drying off with a towel. I have found that the oil works best when my skin is damp but not wet, though it also absorbs fairly well into dry skin.


Those with allergies should exercise caution, however, because this product does contain some potential allergens. Body Dew contains both soybean oil and sweet almond oil. This product also contains fragrance, which may not be appropriate for those with sensitive skin.

The bottle sprays the oil in very small squirts, more like the "stream" function on a squirt bottle than the "mist". It does take quite a few sprays to cover a large area of skin, which can be tedious, but the small squirts are nice when you are just looking to dispense enough for a very small area. The viscosity of the oil is very velvety, as it is comprised of three very light oils (soybean, safflower, sweet almond). It is thinner than baby oil, fairly runny and when sprayed on the skin, it is neither sticky or greasy after you rub it in.

This oil is available in three different scents, though I chose the original scent. The original scent smells wonderfully earthy and floral, it reminds me vaguely of incense. The bottle says the fragrance is a combination of gardenia and tuberose, though it smells vaguely of sandalwood to me as well. Body Dew also claims to contain pheromones, though I cannot personally tell any difference as far as that is concerned. This product is not edible, so I would not recommend tasting it.

The Body Dew oil absorbed nicely into my skin and the scent lasts reasonably long when applied to damp skin. When applied after a shower to towel-dried skin, I found that the scent lasted for about 4 hours. When applied to dry skin, the scent seemed to disappear after about 2 hours. In both cases, the oil made my skin feel soft and supple without feeling at all oily. I loved the very sexy scent of this oil and the light texture. I have not experienced any irritation when using on my arms and legs.

Body Dew comes in a very large 8 ounce bottle. It comes with a plastic cap that snaps on over the pump, though it does not snap on very tightly. Though I have not personally had any problems with leaking, this product would probably be best stored upright.

This oil is paraben-free, sulfate-free, and was not tested on animals.
