Blueberry Blush

This stuff is pretty amazing. The scent is intoxicating for me; I can't get enough of it. It will moderately moisturize skin, but will not help extremely dry skin. The moisturized, soft skin will last all day or night, but the scent will wear off around the 3 hour mark. Pheromones? Not so sure about how effective those are in this...but man, I keep spraying on more!

Use

Body Dew silky body oil is a nice all-purpose oil for the body. It is mainly marketed for females (in this scent at least), and infused with pheromones (apparently) to help attract others and set the mood.

It can be used to moisturize after a shower (the only advertised usage), but I have found it also easy to use to prep your legs for shaving before showering, to soften up tough skin on elbows, or to help treat the ends of flyaway hairs. I think this would make a wonderful gift for a lover or friend, or to get yourself for a personal spa day (okay, every day). Just be sure if you get this for a friend that they do not mind the phrase "Replenish sexuality and moisturize... for skin that begs to be touched!" printed on the side of their body oil bottle.

This product is not tested on animals, is sugar, sulfate, and paraben free, and suitable for all skin types.

I should note that while it is moisturizing, because it is for ALL skin types, it will not be a cure-all for excessively dry skin or skin disorders.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is an oil, so it is a clear yellow substance that is quite thin in consistency.

As a comparison, I use another all-purpose body oil from The Body Shop called Monoi Miracle Oil (though I got it a few years ago, and I am sure they call it something else by now). I swore it would be the only oil I'd ever use, as I don't like greasy things and most end up smelling funky, weird, or too perfume-y to me.

Body Dew is slightly more watery, or light feeling. It doesn't leave a feeling of grease and rubs in generally well and pretty quickly. It does run down the body fairly quickly. My Monoi Oil is slightly thicker feeling, like it wants to stick to the body more. It takes longer to rub in, but it can leave a slippery feeling. It runs fairly quickly as well, but I suppose all oils will.

There is absolutely NO sticky feeling from this oil.

Taste / Aroma

When I got this for assignment, I was worried at the scent being described as "a breath of petal softness..." and being named "Make Me Blush." The tomboy in me retches in disgust at that name. Having worked at a certain store for a year, I know that my preferences when it comes to scents can be hard to pinpoint, but when all else fails a light, fruity smell is a good safety. But floral? Not for me!

However, when I first dispensed some of this oil onto my wrist... Oh, man, I couldn't stop smelling it! My boyfriend thinks it is "nice," which is good because he gets allergies with perfume-y, floral scents. We have to prescreen air fresheners due to his sensitivities.

This scent is...well, it's supposed to be sweet pea, blue violet, with white cedar.

To me, I think it is warm, slightly floral, and berry. For some reason, my primal mind just smells it and thinks "pretty blue." It smells like blue to me. Sexy, pretty blue.

It smells pretty damn good.

As far as how long this scent lasts, it is relatively light and not at all overwhelming. I tried this on my lower legs and wrists/hands about an hour before I went to a 3 hour class. At some point, the scent died down and disappeared. I have reapplied since, to try to clock a time, and I would say that the specific noticeable scent lasts around 3 hours.

As a last note on scent, I will say that everyone's body chemistry slightly alters the scent of perfumes just a tiny bit. Some people will smell more floral, some more berry; some people will have chemistry that pulls out an otherwise dulled hue... overall, though, I generally believe this to be a lovely scent.

Performance

As I said, the scent did not pass the 4 hour mark.

The soft feeling your skin is left with does last much longer though. It rubs in completely, so there is no noticeable lessening of the effects when you wash your hands or body.

It does moisturize and soften skin, but it is not a drastic "OH MY GOD" change. It rubs in very well, though. I like to use body oil before I shower, even if it is backwards to most people. I think my showers dehydrate my skin the most and dry me out, especially when I shave. I like to pretreat the skin on my legs before jumping in. I never get a cleaner, softer shave. This product isn't the best for that, because it absorbs too well, too quickly. I cannot fault the product for this, because it is how the product is specifically intended to work. I suppose that is why I keep my Monoi Oil in the bathroom, though.

There is no real worry for cleaning up, because the bottle is tightly sealed and comes with a spray top and a large plastic cap.

I will say that if you want to smell like this all the time, noticeably, you will end up reapplying a few times per day. But the bottle is large, and a little goes a long way.

Packaging

I was surprised at how big this bottle is! It stands as tall as a 20oz bottle of soda (including its cap). Of course, it is not 20 oz. but 8.5oz. I am confident, though, that this bottle will last me quite a while.

Body Dew comes in a spray bottle, which is easy to dispense and quick for clean up. You will not accidentally spill it. However, I personally find it odd to use a spray top for a liquid. It just feels strange to me. I am sure I will get used to it, though.

The package is discreet enough, with only a tiny logo from Classic Erotica on the back at the bottom. It does let you know all the warnings, with easy to identify pictures on the sides (I listed those at the beginning of the review). It is also Made in the USA (the company is based in Chatsworth, CA).

It gives you directions to use it on damp skin after the shower.

Special Features

Pheromones...this oil is supposed to have pheromones in it that attract others and make things sexy.

I did not notice anything other than me wanting to bathe in the stuff. My boyfriend was pretty tame around it, and, as I said, I did wear this to a class... and no, men were not crawling toward me. Or even glancing at me. Oh well! Maybe someone else will have more luck with the pheromones.

Personal comments

Ingredients:
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Copuline-alike, Copulandrone, Reconstitued Andronone, Retinyl Palmitata (Vitamin A), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), BHT, Fragrance (Parfum)

Most of these get my stamp of approval. BHT, for those who want to know, is a triglyceride (fat) that helps preserve the oil.

The pheromones in this are at the end-half of the list of ingredients, which means that there aren't a lot of them in the oil itself. This is possibly also why they are not crazy-effective.
Follow-up commentary
I love this stuff. It has a permanent place on my bathroom counter. It is also much better in scent than the perfume counterpart, so anyone considering or deciding between the two should probably go with this!
