Yummy, egg shaped lip balm

At first I wasn't sure about this lip balm. After using it for over a month though I'm impressed. I love both of the flavors that I've tried. It truly softens my lips and is fun to apply.

Use

This round lip balm from Evolution of Smooth is meant to soften and improve the taste and smell of your lips. A big feature of this Evolution of Smooth product is that it's organic. It also isn't tested on animals.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I love the soft, slick feel of this lip balm. It's not too thick or too thin. I have to reapply it about as often as any other lip balm that I use. Well unless I end up licking it off or having it kissed off.
    • Creamy
    • Slick
    • Smooth

Taste / Aroma

I own the Sweet Mint and Summer Fruit flavors. The mint tastes and smells like other mint lip balms that I've used in the past but a bit sweeter. It also leaves a tingly feel on my lips. The fruit flavor definitely tastes fruity and sort of reminds me of lip balms from my youth but richer in taste. My man says that it tastes like watermelon. He loves watermelon so that's definitely a plus.
    • Smells good
    • Strong taste

Performance

After seeing this product on EF while browsing the beauty section I definitely wanted to try it. However almost $8 for something that I wasn't sure I'd like seemed high. One day while shopping in a department store with my man I saw them at the register being pushed as an impulse item. The price in that store was less than half of the EF price. They had the Sweet Mint and Summer Fruit flavors. I was trying to decide between the two and asked for my man's input. So he said, "I'll get you both", how sweet.

I immediately opened and put on the fruit flavor. Both of us loved the taste. I hadn't used a lip balm that isn't in stick form since I've been a child. I've always hated getting my fingers sticky when applying them from those little pots. Well after applying this with my fingers a couple of times I realized that I could just roll it on. That was much better!

The first few days that I used these I wasn't sure about them. While the fruit flavor is different from other balms I've tried, I've had mint ones before, so I didn't want to base my reaction solely on the taste and smell. However I've decided that I love them!

I carry the Summer Fruit in my purse. Although it's too bulky to keep in the side pocket with my other lip products and I have to locate it in the bottom of my bag it's definitely worth it. There is something special about these.

I keep my Sweet Mint on my bedside table. This makes it convenient for applying in the middle of the night when my lips seem to grow drier. In this case the size is a plus. If it were a stick balm it might roll away or I might not see it quickly in the night. However the shape and size of this balm catches my eye. I never have to waste time looking for it. I should also mention that my bedside table is right next to the heat vent for that room. Even though the lip balm is always in close vicinity to the hot air coming in the room it hasn't melted.

I've had these for at least a month and a half. I use both every day and am not close to running out. Since they are so long lasting I may decide to buy some of the flavors that I've only seen on EF even though the price is higher.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural

Packaging

What initially attracted me to this lip balm while browsing EF was the cool, round container. It's so fun to have sitting out and to use.

When you purchase these they are sealed in a plastic wrapper that lists the flavor, ingredients, an expiration date (mine is 06/15) and directions ("Twist off top. Pucker up. Smooth on. Smile."). Everything is also printed again in French. The wrapper states 36M which means that this product should be fresh for about 36 months after it has been opened.

I've included a photo of the Summer Fruit flavor next to a tube of my Baby Lips balm to give you an idea of the size. Each round, EOS organic lip balm container includes 0.25 ounces of lip balm.

Ingredients are as follows for the Sweet Mint flavor, I disposed of the Summer Fruit packaging ASAP but they should be very similar: Olive Fruit Oil, Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Peppermint Oil, Shea Butter, Stevia Leaf/Stem Extract, Tocopherol, Linalool. Do not use these if you are allergic to any of these ingredients.

It is listed as being 100% natural and 95% organic.

When it comes to carrying these around they can be problematic. They do take up extra space in your purse. If I'm not carrying a bag then I won't take one because they are too bulky for my pockets.

These egg balms easily screw apart and back together. I haven't had any problems with leakage.
    • Does not leak
    • Very informative packaging
    • Would make a nice gift
Follow-up commentary
I'm still a big fan of these lip balms. They last a long time even with frequent use. I also introduced my best friend to them since I've been so impressed with the quality and design.

In fact I also have the honeydew/honeysuckle flavor now. BTW-It smells and tastes of honeydew to me. I don't really detect any honeysuckle.

Plus I plan to to add the tangerine flavor to my collection as well.
