Slip-sliding Experience

This lube is long lasting and mimics natural fluids well. It's great for anal play, as well as vaginal, and doesn't have too overbearing a flavor.

Sliquid H2O is actually the first water-based, non-blow-job lube I've owned, aside from samples you sometimes receive with toys. And those, more often than not, have found their way into the garbage instead of being used.

When M mentioned increasing the amount of anal play we do, I asked to buy this one; because I tried Sliquid Splash in Honey Dew Cucumber, and absolutely adored it. And then I read the interview with Sliquid's CEO over at Eden Link and fell in love with the company. Their lube has to be good!

Sliquid H2O is glycerin and paraben free. It's packaged in a recyclable plastic bottle with a push down top. The label is two shades of blue with a woman's face and the symbol for female. There is also a list of the 100% vegan ingredients (Purified Water, Plant Cellulose, Polyquat 007, DMDM Hydantoin), and a list of its claims to fame; one of which is "Formulated to last longer than most Hollywood marriages".

That cracked me up. I love a lube with a good sense of humor.

It's supposed to be unscented, and it is, for the most part. There's a faint soapy smell to it that goes away soon after it mixes with your own fluids.

As for the flavor, it, too, is slightly on the soapy side. Not so bad that it gags you. Just a touch. And it dissipates with a quick sweep of the tongue. There's no real aftertaste.

When I first dabbed a tiny bit between my fingers, I was a little disappointed. It got a little sticky between the pads of my fingers. But later, when I actually used the lube during play, I couldn't repeat the reaction.

The lube is slick and slippery. It's very similar in texture to natural fluids and lasted a really long time. I had no problem with needing to reapply during anal play. There was no flaking or stickiness. And it rinsed away as soon as the water hit it in the shower.

I'm not sure I'm ready to end my search for a good lube after the first product. But it will definitely be the product I compare all others against.
Experience
I've never owned good lube. No, really. Once upon a time, in a land far away, I purchased a strawberry flavored lube from some novelty store, but it sucked. Bad. And I guess I just assumed all lube was like that.

So, I never really saw the use. I'm twenty-nine and only have a problem with dryness if I'm extremely dehydrated or occasionally when I'm ovulating. Why on Earth do I need lube?

Except we own a silicone and a rubber butt plug. And M really likes the rubber one. Now I do, too.

With Sliquid H2O, I was able to use the rubber plug, which usually sticks to the skin and is the larger of the two, virtually painlessly. I didn't want to take it out, whereas usually, when we use saliva or something, I'm begging for it not to even go in.

Granted, it's possible any lube can do that. I guess we'll find out as I begin my hunt for the best lube in the world.
Follow-up commentary
So I'm not quite as in love with it as I used to be, but I haven't stopped liking it either. Here's the thing:

I'm finding that if my ph changes (e.g. during illness, ovulation, my period, etc.), this lube doesn't react well. It gets a little tacky, absorbs quickly and doesn't reactivate as well as some other water-based lubes I've tried. But it's only during those times that I have a problem. So it's quite possible it's me and has nothing to do with the lube.

I'd still recommend it to anyone. I'd just recommend keeping another lube handy in case you find you have the same problem. Which, for me, isn't a problem cause I'm a lube addict now. But some like having one tried and true to turn to.

Great review! It's interesting what you said about pH changes. I have trouble with lubes (including this one) getting tacky and absorbing quickly all the time; perhaps my pH is out of whack! Definitely something to look into...

@LL - It's possible. I had a nurse friend, once upon a time, whose ph was too... something for waterbased lubes. High? Low? I don't remember. I just remember her saying all waterbased lubes did that for her.

Great review! Wow, I never thought about my monthly body chemistry changing affecting how lube works, but that totally makes sense!

Seems like everyone thinks highly about this product. pH levels can make a lot of things change about your body.

Hmm... this is quite interesting. I, like buzzvibe, never thought of pH changing the ability to mesh well with lube! I think I'm going to give this stuff a shot!
