Sliquid Liquid: Worth the 12 Quid.

This was the first glycerine free water-based lube I tried. After struggling with frequent yeast infections and skin sensitivities with other personal lubricants, I was thrilled to finally find something that worked well and didn't cause any negative reactions. Using high-quality lube that agrees with my body has improved my sex life immensely.

Use

Sliquid H2O is top quality water-based, glycerine and paraben free lube. Great for general use by anyone needing some slick, it shouldn't cause any yeast infections or other adverse reactions. Sliquid H2O is my preferred lube for toy play. Since it's water-based, it's safe to use with all toy materials, including silicone. I love the natural feel of the lube. It's very effective for quickies and brief lovemaking sessions, but I find that, with prolonged skin-to-skin friction, it dries out and get sticky.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Sliquid H2O comes out of the bottle easily. It is pretty thin, but stays where you put it. I haven't had any problems with it dripping or being messy during use. It starts off feeling very natural and lovely, but it dries up and gets sticky with use. This isn't uncommon for water based lubes and is easily remedied by adding a few drops of water or applying more lube.

Taste / Aroma

Sliquid H2O is fragrance-free and completely odorless. It's an unflavored lube. To me, it has a very slight soapy taste, but it's not so noticeable as to be unpleasant.

Performance

This lube does the job very well and lasts a decent amount of time. While it's still slick, it feels awesome and very natural. It gets sticky with use and requires either reapplication or adding water to make it slippery again. As far as clean up, it does not stain, but because it gets reactivated with water, I find that it requires a little extra rinsing to wash off.
    • Gets sticky
    • Reapply often

Packaging

While the little flip-up top makes it easy to open and apply with one hand, the lube can get stuck around the opening and dry there, making the top sticky and messy. My advice is to make sure the top is clean and firmly closed when finished, otherwise it gets clogged. The packaging is discreet enough. While anybody who reads can tell what it is; there aren't any suggestive or blatantly "adult" images on the bottle.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Messy dispenser

Special Features

As a standard water based lube, Sliquid H2O doesn't add any warming, cooling, or tingling sensations. Straight out of the bottle it initially feels cold then quickly warms to body temperature. By adding lubrication and easing friction, it enhances sensation very nicely.
Follow-up commentary
I'm really hesitant to say I don't like it anymore, because it's not so much that I don't like it, but that I have found a few other lubes that work much better for me. Sliquid H2O was one of the first glycerin-free, water-based lubes I ever tried. As such, it introduced me to the wonders of using lube without having to be paranoid about getting yeast infections, and so I have some sentimental feelings for it. But it's definitely no longer my lube of choice, and I seriously doubt I'll buy any more. Sliquid H2O works really well, save for being too thin for anal use. I just subsequently found ones I like more.

Good to see you found a lube that doesn't cause the yeast overgrowth that other lubes can for sensitive lady parts.

wanted to ask: what are the lubes you prefer instead now?
  • Contributor: buzzvibe
@lcl1669, Sliquid Oceanics is my favorite water-based Sliquid lube out of the 4 I've tried so far. I also really like Blossom Organics and Slippery Stuff gel (even though the Slippery Stuff has parabens in it), but EF doesn't seem to carry those. The LELO lube works well enough, but it's a bit thin and has a bitter taste.
