Astroglide stepped up by making a silicone based lubricant, but perhaps, they jumped the gun too soon. Their simple, two ingredient formula, just doesn't cut it compared to the other silcione lubricants on he market. The feel is far from luxurious.

Pros
No smell or taste, Lasts for a decent amount of time, Good with hard materials
Cons
Oily then greasy, Runny, Doesn't blend into skin or natural lubricants, Expensive for amount
Astroglide is a popular brand simply because it is readily available to many in large retail stores and pharmacies. It's not the greatest though. They have now developed a silicone lubricant to go along side their water based one. Did they stand well against the other manufacturers of silicone lubricants? Not so much... this lubricant puts them in the middle of the road just like their water based one does. Yes, it's an improvement from their previous products, but it isn't great. It does last a long time, that is for sure, but I didn't like how runny it is or how oily it feels. It also doesn't absorb well into the skin unless you use tiny amounts of it. This makes it better for shower play though. I guess that is an upside as well.
Another cool thing is the ingredients. There are apparently only two: Cyclomethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane
When this lubricant first comes out it is surprisingly runny. It's even runnier than some water bases lubricants I own. When smoothing it in, it feels like baby oil at first. It is very slick and smooth. It eventually thickens out a little bit to stay in place, but it always stays oily. After it has been exposed to the air for a while (about 5 minutes) or a lot of friction has occurred, the textured becomes greasy. So while it does last a long time, it doesn't last well. It requires being washed off with soap and water after use. It's not a lubricant that blends into my skin at all.
This lubricant has no smell and no taste that I could detect. Most silicone lubricants have a low smell, but I really didn't smell anything with this one. Point for Astroglide.
Overall, my partner and I were not a huge fan of this lubricant due to the way it makes us feel during and after the use of this product. I prefer it for solo toys, especially hard materials for anal. It works best for that, in my opinion.
Vaginal Sex: This did last a good amount of time for vaginal sex, but it took away from the experience since we felt a bit icky. My partner especially didn't like it since he often grabs his member during sex while switching positions etc. and hated getting this on his hands. It is safe for use with condoms, so that is also a plus. My partner prefers to use condoms with this lubricant since it keeps the lube from making contact with his skin. As mentioned before, if you don't finish from sex, it doesn't leave a bad taste for oral afterward. If you used a lot, I'd wipe it down well beforehand.
Vaginal Toys: Similar to how it behaves on human flesh, this lubricant also doesn't get soaked up by porous materials. It tends to feel a bit sticky on materials like UR3, but works fine on TPR and especially well on harder materials like glass that are even easier to clean.
Anal Sex: We don't like this lube all that much for anal for the same reasons that we don't like it much for vaginal sex. It really just doesn't feel nice. It feels gross between the ass cheeks. It did make for easy entry though. That I cannot complain about. It is thick enough to last for awhile too.
Anal Toys: This is the best use for this lubricant. It only gets me dirty when I use it solo and for anal toys and that way I am not wasting any of our higher end silicone lubricants. I like to use this with my Njoy plug or a glass probe. It cleans off of those pretty easily.
In all of these instances, the lubricant didn't feel natural and didn't seem to jive well with preexisting lubrication.
Astroglide X comes in a plastic bottle that contains 2.5 fluid ounces of lubricant. For the quality and low amount, I find this lubricant to be over priced. I can't even recommend this lubricant to people on a budget. There are much better silicone lubricants out there in much larger bottles for cheaper or the same price.
The bottle is easy to use, though. It has a push up to flip open cap. The bottle is plastic with a slightly curved shape that aids in holding. The silver bottle's front label is pretty discreet since the sexual language about it being a lubricant is very small. The bottle comes in a cardboard box with a lot of information on it. The bottle has not leaked as of yet. It is good for traveling since it is small.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it1 month after original review
This is a horrible silicone lubricant, horrible lubricant in general, for that matter. I won't ever put any money into purchasing this and don't recommend it to any one for any reason. There are much better choices out there, for less!
