I have never developed brand loyalty for Astroglide because none of their products have wowed me. However, this product was more than satisfactory. I purchased this silicone lubricant while I still had two unused bottles at home. I hated the containers they were in but not the product themselves! I had the same problem with my two previous lubricants; the bottles would not close properly and the lubricant always leaked. The problem meant that the bottles were always hard to store and even harder to open when I really wanted to get down to business! Astroglide X silicone lubricant, however, has a much better bottle and cap top than the other two products. This little bottle is easy to store, stays closed with no leaks, and is easy to open when I need it. This is super important if you are packing it away in a tool box to take to the dungeon or other play space; you can not have your rope getting leaked on!

I like silicone lubricants and jelly lubricants, but loathe oil based lubricants because they stain and are not safe to use with condoms. This silicone lubricant is good for toys, intercourse, and masturbation. Astroglide X, like all silicone lubricants, can not be used with silicone toys. So that has to be taken into consideration if you have more than a couple silicone toys. I only own and use one silicone toy at the moment, so it is still convenient for me.

For masturbation, I prefer jelly lubricant. Though, I love silicone lubricants for intercourse because it lasts longer and does not require reapplication like jelly does. I use this lubricant for vaginal and anal intercourse, and LOVE how it feels for anal. I also use this for inserting toys anally into my partner. A little goes a long way. However, anal play usually requires reapplication even with silicone, since the anus is so delicate and absorbs moisture. He does not report any special preference for Astroglide X, but prefers it over jelly since it is not feel as cold as jelly usually does on his naughty bits.

It is easy to clean up with a cleanser or soap from both toys and skin. I also like to moisturize my legs with it!

Because the bottle opens easily and does not leak, I had a wonderful night upside down on the couch one evening. My partner reached under the couch, pulled the little bottle out, lubed up, and slipped right in my back door with no fuss over opening and closing the bottle.
