Wet look thigh high stockings - thigh highs discontinued by Coquette - review by mpfm

I lusted after these the first time I saw them. They seemed to be perfect for giving the illusion of thigh high boots. I put off purchasing them because I was afraid they wouldn't fit me. I am plus size and don't usually have much luck with the plus size version of one size fits most. I have much better luck with when actual sizes are given. After looking at them for months I finally decided to take the risk. I am glad I did, because they are freakin' fantastic. I love Coquette for making these.

The wet look is very similar in looks to latex. The material is black and shiny. They are made from 80% nylon and 20% spandex. The spandex makes them very stretchy so they should fit a variety of sizes. They are held up by a band of elastic at the top. The elastic does a decent job of keeping them up. They don't need a garter belt as mine stay up all on their own. They are very easy to put on. I simply put my legs in and pull them up. I don't have to do any fancy dance to get them up straight like some stockings. They really are fool proof. I wear them often and they are still as good as new.

My legs are short as I am only 5-3 and these reach up a little past my mid thigh. The elastic band stays put without cutting off my circulation. They look like they might be hot to wear, but they are not. They are comfortable and don't make my legs sweat. I like to pair them with a pair of closed toe black heels. With the heels they do resemble thigh high boots. When you consider the price of boots, the stockings are a bargain.

My only quibble with these is the toe. They are cut weird across the toe and so the fit of the feet and ankles is a bit off. They don't conform to my feet like stockings should. Sometimes there is a little sagging around my ankles. I only wear these in the bedroom so I am not worried about that flaw. Someone who wanted something for public might want a better fitting pair. I am happy with these.

Hand wash and hang to dry to keep these looking good. Don't even think about putting them through the washer & dryer. The material folds up nice and is wrinkle free for easy storage.

I like to wear this royal blue chemise with it. I have a couple of other all black chemises but the blue and black is my favorite. My husband can't resist me in these stockings. The first time I wore them his eyes popped out and I had to lift his jaw off the floor. It's nice to know I can still get that reaction after so many years.
