Traditional vibrator discontinued

2, 3... 4! Form 4! AH AH AH!

The Form 4 is in no way a bad or poor toy; it just could have benefitted from a bit more specialization. It sits in the middle, multi-purpose road of clitoral/internal toys. It works decently well for both, but it could have been an even greater clitoral vibe. Still, I feel owning a JimmyJane Form is an experience.

Use

Was there ever a Form 1? Because I see Forms 2-4 and 6, but no 1 and 5. Regardless, welcome to the Form 4! The Form 4 is marked as a traditional vibrator, but I see that most buyers use it for clitoral stimulation. The size of the Form 4 allows for it to be inserted as well. It is long enough to get to most G-spots with some angling. If you can only cary one toy on-the-go and you like both internal and external stimulation, then you might want to look at the Form 4. If you're don't need a whole lot of length or girth, then this can work for you. While it is more expensive than most similar vibrators, the Form 4 might be a good value if is really two toys to you.

The Form 4 has all the qualities those look for in similar toys. It is made of good materials and rechargeable. It is waterproof and pretty discreet in sound. The charging base makes it a bit more bulky for travel and lowers its discretion value, but this can be managed. The Form 4 should not be used for anal play since it is smaller, smooth, and could get lost. It can be used for muscle massage.

Material / Texture

The coating on the Form 4 is made of silicone. Silicone is one of the best materials you can have on a toy. It is very body safe, has a long shelf life, and is hypoallergenic. The silicone isn't as luscious as JeJoue or LELO silicone, but it's still up there. I wish it was a little more plushiness.

The Form 4 is primarily smooth. It is raised on the front of the toy towards the bottom where the buttons are. The shape gives it some change in sensation. The head of the toy is more rounded and then slims a bit at the neck and flares again for the rest of the body/shaft. It can be stimulating to use the Form 4, especially at the entrance of the vagina (where the majority of the nerves are there). The changes in circumference may be appealing to some users for teasing. The Form 4 is firm and unyielding. It has a very noticeable seam around it, but it is not really felt during use. It could have been smoothed a bit more.

There is no overt smell or odor to the Form 4.

Design / Shape / Size

The dimensions of the Form 4 could make some thinking it either has an identity crisis or is a happy marrying between internal and external oriented toys. It is 5 inches long with an insertable length of 4 inches. At its widest point it has a circumference of 5 inches. Beginners may not want this one if they are looking for a longer insertable toy (the first couple of inches of the toy by the neck is smaller and manageable for many beginners). For comparison, the average circumference of a toy is 4.25 to 4.5 inches. If thinking of it as a clitoral toy it is on the larger end. I present to you the great wall of clitoral vibrators!

From left to right: MiMi, Salsa, Muse, Luxe Liberte, Bliss, Siri, Touch, Life, Form 4, Sue, Pen.

Since there's a lot going on in this picture, here's a closer one involving less toys to get a better sense of scale. In this picture, the Form 4's buttons look a bit like an explanation point. Also, my flash on the camera makes it look a little ligher in color than it actually is.

As you can see, it's on the large side. It's not a terrible thing since it is still easy to travel with compared to a standard rabbit that can be a foot long. The Touch can fit in a purse or bag easily enough when traveling. You can lock it by holding the plus and minus button for a couple of seconds. Do the same to unlock it.

Functions / Performance / Controls

there are three buttons on the Form 4: a plus, a minus and a sideways "S" button. The buttons are located on the bottom belly of the toy. Press the plus button to turn the toy on. There are five standard vibrations that increase in intensity. This toy is a high, rumbly 4 vrooms. It has a great motor that show work for the majority of users.

If you want one of three patterns, check out the sideways "S" button. Once you have you desired intensity, press it. It will cycle through as follows: rollar-coaster, long accelerating pulses, faster shorter pulses, and then standard vibrations again. The Form 4 will remember what pattern you left the toy one, which is nice and convenient. The Form for has the vibrations travel well, almost too well. It can be felt through to the base of the toy. This can cause some itchy numbness to your hands depending on how tight you grip the toy.

The Form 4 is rechargeable. It has a charging stand. Plug in the charging stand and then place your Form 4 inside. You have to make sure it sits in it just right. The Form 4 will let you know. If it flashes when you place it in, that means it's not on well enough. Also, when you remove it form the charger it will let you know the state of the battery by flashing. 1 Blink is basically little charge. 2 Blinks means it is partially charged and 3 means fullt charged and ready to go. 4 Blinks means SOS and to charge your toy.

Care and Maintenance

YOu don't have to worry about getting the Form 4 wet. You can throw it in the sink to soak if you want. It's a fairly streamline toy, so debris is easy to clean off of it. Line collection is not that high considering it's a silicone toy. Still, it's best to keep it wrapped in a lint free cloth. Only use water-based lubricant with the Form 4.

Packaging

Form 4 has some pretty heavy packaging. The box is solid and has a weight to it (compared to most sex toy packaging). The box is not discreet in that the vibrator is pictures, but it is classy and cute. It reminds me of the packaging you would have for an iPod or other high end electronic. Open the box and you'll see the charging stand and vibrator covered in a plastic shell. Pull it apart to release the toy.

There are two instruction inserts: a quick guide and one explaining the warranty and other details. I really wish this came with a pouch considering the price. There are sixty dollar toys I have received with nice pouches. This one is more than twice that price.

Experience

This is the first Form toy I own. I have one previous product from JimmyJane, the Hello Touch (which, while a great concept and idea, needs some tweaking to be an overall awesome item). I wanted the Form 2, but I hear so much about the infamous glitch that I don't want to get it until I hear it's been resolved. I decided to go with the Form 4 since I can look at this one the most objectively.

The Form 4 reminds me of the SinFive Sue due to the size. It fills your hand. It is more multi-purpose than smaller vibes because the Form 4 can be used both internally and externally. It has strong vibrations and has the qualities many would look for in a luxury toy. What should I compare it to? Since the Form 4 is multi-purpose, I'll do my best to compare in both respects Then I'll give my opinion on how the Form 4 ranks if you're looking to use it primarily for clitoral stimulation or internal stimulation.

Don't be a Clit-wit: A break down on clitoral vibes.

There are a decent amount of strong, luxury clitoral vibes that are rechargeable through a wall socket. I am not including some USB toys (yet) because toys like Mia and the Kandi Kisses are strong but in their own right. I feel like it's a bit unfair to compare them like that sometimes. (I wonder if the new Jopen toys will blend the line). Sue is USB chargeable though. This is the one exception I have. Here are the majority of clitoral vibes I own that fit these requirements.

For your convenience, I also have them ranked from left to right. Everyone's different so another person's ranked list might be different. However, I think other users would only have small differences in my list (I small shift in ordering compared to a major shift). The top clitoral vibes in my opinions are Leaf's Life, We-Vibes Tango or Salsa, and MiMi. While MiMi is halled as "the" clitoral vibe, I don't think it's number one overall. Still, it's a great toy with all the perks. However, the egg shape can lead to les spinpoint stimulation and can numb the hands. The buttons can also be a pain.

If you like plastic or don't have to have a silicone toy, consider the Tango or Salsa. I think the motors on them are stronger than the Motor on both MiMi and life. They are pretty darn strong. They are small and can be a pain to hold on to for some. The only difference between them are the tips. I find Tango has a tip that better grips or stays on the clitoris. Salsa is great for super pinpoint stimulation, but it's even harder to get there. This can be corrected with slipping them in a silicone sleeve. Then it becomes a bullet.

Life is not as strong but still a solid 4 Vrooms. It's a bit more pricey than the other top vibes. However, it is a lovely toy as well. It doesn't have patterns either, so be warned. It is packaged wonderfully in both its box and canvas bag. The one button control is simple. The shape is easy to hold and and offer both pinpoint and broader stimulation. It's also green, which is rare in the luxury sex toy world.

If we keep going down the list we'll see Siri and the Touch. Siri would be higher on the list but i give it penalty points for having an open port and not being waterproof. I bet LELO is making a Siri 2. I bet it will be a top contender is not at the top. It offers great vibrations and good controls as well as the awesome LELO silicone and packaging. The We-Vibe Touch has the same motor as its sister vibes but is slightly more diffused. The silicone is a bit sticky-like and is a lint magnet. It still has good qualities.

Then you'll see both the Form 4 and Sue. Sue is a great value for what she is. In fact, she could be placed on the same line with the Touch and Siri. It is waterproof and strong. However, Sue feels a bit unfinished. She doesn't scream luxury like the other vibrators, but she is a one of the greatest values on the list. After that i place the Form 4. The price/value factor pushes it towards the back of the list. It is strong and quiet, but it can really numb your hands. It also doesn't give the option of more pinpointed stimulation. The charge can be a bit finicky and less discreet as well. Also, for the price, it would have been nice to have a pouch for it.

Don't go anymore right on the list. The other vibes are just not that great. They are not bad, but are not as intuitive, strong, or well constructed overall.

As an Insertable

For this one, I'll compare the following toys: Form 4, Bimini Flash, and Sue. I rank them as follows:

1.Flash
2.Sue or Form 4

Again, price versus performance is what knocks the Form 4 down. Why spend 150 bucks on a small internal vibe when I can spend less than two thirds of that for the same functionality? That really is the case here. The Flash is strong and has most of the same features. It doesn't have as long a battery life or a power indicator, but it does the job. Sue, again, is multipurpose like Form 4. The ranking between Sue and the Form 4 is very close. If pricing wasn't as large a difference I would have the Form 4 coming out on top. If the Form 4 was not as refined as it is, it would rank much lower compared to Sue. I think the buttons is the biggest difference. Sue's buttons can be a pain to push.
