The Amante is a waterproof, remote controlled bullet (more like an egg) from the Couture line by California Exotic. It is made of silicone over hard plastic and features various levels of steady vibration as well as some fun patterns. This toy can be inserted or used for external stimulation. The vibrations should be strong enough for most users and can be felt easily inside of the body.It is a pretty thick bullet, so it may require some warm up for beginners when using internally. This toy is not safe for anal use because it is small and has no flare so it would be very easy to loose.

This toy can be used anywhere, and can even be worn out in public for even more fun. It would also be fun for couples play with a partner controlling the vibrations so that you get more of a surprise as they change the functions.

The Amante is made of smooth silicone that has a little bit of a matte feel to it that covers the plastic body of the toy. There was no smell and no taste. The texture of the silicone feels nice when the egg is glided across the clitoris and labia and it also makes insertion pretty easy only requiring a little bit of lube. Because there are no ridges (except for where the cover to the battery pack is located, but you don't feel this), the smooth texture is nice for most users who enjoy this feeling.

The remote to control the toy is made out of plastic.

The shape of this toy is something like a cross between an egg and a traditional bullet with a small retrieval cord made of silicone. I think that it looks like a giant purple sperm cell or maybe a giant pill with a tail. The shape is easy to hold in your hand and rub along the clitoris or labia, but if things are really slippery then holding by the cord will help make sure that it doesn't slip right out of your hands. The shape and size of the Amante also work well for insertion and then keeping inside of you much like you would do with a kegel exerciser.

The Amante is thicker than all of my other bullet/egg vibrators but about average in regards to the length of other bullets/eggs. It is 1 1/4 inches in diameter and 2 3/4 inches in insertable length. It is not a very intimidating size, so most users should be fine with external and internal use. However, it may require a little lube for those new to insertable toys.

This toy (and the remote) is small enough to make travel easy and is very simple to hide in a drawer or any where that you might put a bullet vibrator. I do think that if this were left out in the open then most people would know its use simply because of the shape and the fact that it has a separate controller.

The Amante is controlled by a wireless remote. There is a designated on/off button and a separate button to control the vibration levels and patterns. It is very easy to use this toy. The only negative about the remote is that you have to cycle through all the patterns to get back to the one you like.

This toy has 3 different vibration intensities:low, medium, and high, as well as 4 different patterns: a pulsation that increases in speed, a normal pulsation pattern, a pulsation pattern at a higher intensity,and a pulsation pattern that includes 3 short pulses and one long. You can feel these vibrations throughout the entire bullet. When keeping this inside of me as a prolonged warm up I preferred the steady medium intensity vibrations. However when using it externally on my clitoris or internally when approaching orgasm I preferred the increasing pulsation pattern the best.

I do not think that this toy is particularly loud when on most of the settings. However, the high can get noisy when using it externally.

I had no problem with water or lubricants getting into this toy when I cleaned it or when I used it inside my vagina. I also used it in the shower, but it was inside of me during this time.

This toy is powered by N and 12V batteries (all 3 included). My remote for this has already died, and now I have to hunt for a replacement battery. This is my main complaint of this toy and this is also one of the reasons I tend to stay away from toys that use these type of batteries.

The Amante is very easy to clean and care for because it is made of silicone and is also waterproof. To clean I simply wash it in warm water in soap (be sure to check that the battery cover is securely on the toy first). Toy cleaners or wipes can be used, and also a 10% bleach solution to sanitize. I would not recommend boiling because this will ruin the motor of the toy and you will not be able to enjoy the Amante anymore.

I store mine in the box that it came in because it keeps everything in one place. I am in the process of getting a box for storage, so once I get one this toy can go in there with the rest of the collection. It is not very large so it can be kept in a drawer or on a night stand for easy access.

Like all other silicone toys, the Amante should only be used with water based lubricants so that it does not get damaged.

The Amante comes in a box that has pictures of the product as well as information about its use, so it is not discreet. The Amante and the remote come nestled in a form fitting cardboard piece that makes up the top of the box. Underneath this you will find more detailed instructions and the included batteries for both the bullet/egg itself and for the remote. I would not suggest giving the toy in this box as a gift unless the user is aware that they are getting a sex toy.

I find that this box works very well for storage because it holds the toy and remote in the top and the batteries in the bottom. However, if you need discretion then I would suggest storing it another way.

My favorite thing to use the Amante for is prolonged foreplay. The vibration patterns make for a great warm up for more intense fun later. It is very comfortable to leave in for periods of time because of the shape, and it did not require a lot of lube. I prefer this use to clitoral stimulation with the Amante. It also felt really good to keep this inside while using another bullet on my clit! The amount of vibration was incredible, and I am not someone who uses vibrating toys on a regular basis.
