My only real complaint is the control placement

All in all, I think this is a fantastic toy that's totally worth the money! With 7 power levels and 5 vibration patterns, there's something for everyone. It locks for easy travel/ storage, is rechargeable, & comes with a beautiful satin pouch in an elegant box. The only potential downsides are the fact that it's not waterproof, it's completely rigid (so you can't bend it to fit your body better), and it's easy to accidentally hit the controls during use.

Use

The Lelo Gigi is a vibrator that works wondrously for stimulating the G-Spot, clit, nipples, and really any other part of the body you could desire. With 7 vibration speeds and 5 vibration patterns, it's got something for everyone!

Although this toy is advertised to be for women, it can be used all over the male or female body. For the male body, we've discovered that one (fun) way to use it is to place the head underneath the scrotal sack while performing oral sex. You can really use the Gigi anywhere on the body that you want to add some stimulation.

Sadly, this toy is NOT waterproof (only splash-resistant), so it can't be used in the bath/shower/pool.

Material / Texture

This toy is composed of silicone, white plastic and metallic silver plastic. The head and shaft/neck of the toy are made of velvety smooth silicone. There is a flat metallic silver plastic band around the middle, and the base of the toy is plastic. The control pad is plastic, and the stopper/cover for the charging port is silicone with LELO stamped into it.

This toy is relatively smooth, except for small ridges where the silicone fits against the plastic. Also, the controls are raised and bumpy.
The Gigi is completely rigid (not even the slightest bit of give to it), mostly smooth, non-porous and odorless.

The Gigi is simple enough for a beginner to figure out, but high quality enough for a more experienced toy user to appreciate and enjoy.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

The Gigi has a relatively straight-forward design.
It features a gentle upward curve and a slightly wider, flat-faced tip in order to make g-spot stimulation easier. The neck/shaft of the Gigi is narrower, widening out to a wider, attractively rounded base, with the controls on the front. At the bottom tip of the toy, you will find the charging port, covered by a strip of silicone with a nub that acts as a stopper for the charging port when not in use.

The Gigi measures 6.5" long (4.5 insertable inches) and 1 1/8" in diameter (3.5" in circumference). The face of the Gigi measures 1.5" long and 1" wide. The control pad is approximately .75" in diameter.

The Gigi is a relatively small toy, so it wouldn't be intimidating for beginners. More experienced users may be a bit disappointed at the size and inability to customize the shape (like you can with the G-Ki), but with all the different ways you can use it, I think beginners and veterans alike will find that they love this toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

With the vibrations originating directly in the head of the Gigi, it's easy to focus stimulation with pinpoint accuracy and power. Although I fall somewhere in the middle when it comes to experience with sex toys, I find this toy to be impressively powerful, especially considering how small it is! The highest vibration setting is powerful enough that it will actually numb the area of use if kept there too long, at least for me. I haven't had many toys, but this one is (and probably will continue to be) one of the strongest toys in my growing collection.

The controls are rather simple. The "+" button turns the toy on and increases the power level. The "-" button decreases power and can turn the toy off. The up button cycles upward through the vibration patterns, and the down button backtracks through them. The actual "OFF" button is in the dip between all 4 buttons, and has no label. It can be a little tricky to push, but that will fully shut off the toy.
Setting 1: steady, solid vibration
Setting 2: long-ish slow bursts
Setting 3: closer, shorter bursts
Setting 4: close, short bursts
Setting 5: roller coaster

There is an LED light around the controls that glows red to alert you when the battery is getting low, flashes white when it's charging, and glows steady white to tell you when it is finished charging.
Sadly, this toy is not waterproof (only splash-resistant), so it can't be used in the bath or shower without risk of damage.

Although I wouldn't say it's quiet, it's also not overly loud. It has a noticeable buzz, but isn't so loud that you have to worry that you'll be heard through the walls.

By pressing and holding the space in between the controls until the LED ring goes dark, you can lock the controls of the Gigi so it won't accidentally turn on during storage or travel. To unlock the toy, simply press and hold the space between the controls (again) until the LED light comes back on.

Personally, I think that this toy has a fantastic battery life. I can get at least half a dozen (sometimes more) sessions out of it before it needs to be charged again. Of course, they're usually short sessions, but still! That's impressive! Though, the instructions say that the Gigi's battery should be completely drained and then charged once a month.

A few things I've noticed about the performance of this toy:
-The location of the controls is a bit annoying. If you're not careful, you'll hit them and change the settings during use, which can be an unwanted distraction.
-If using the "-" button to turn the Gigi off, be sure to hold it down until the toy is COMPLETELY off. If you don't hold it down, then sometimes the toy will continue rumbling just slightly (almost un-noticeably), which will put a drain on the battery.

Care and Maintenance

Because the Gigi is not waterproof, you need to be careful when washing it.
I've discovered that the safest way to do it is hold the bottom (plastic) part of the toy in one hand, with the head tilted downward. This way, no soap/cleaner/water can run down toward the charging port and controls. You can then use your free hand to wash it with your intended cleanser.

If you don't feel comfortable putting a non-waterproof toy under water, you can also use toy wipes. Wipes are nice because they allow you to clean the whole toy, not just the silicone section. That gives things a more sanitized feel, like you haven't missed anything.

The Gigi comes with a beautiful, perfectly sized black satin pouch that it just fits oh-so-nicely into, which prevents it from collecting dust/lint or coming into contact with other toys. I've heard so many horror stories about toys melting when stored in contact with other toys that I immediately put the Gigi back in the pouch after it's been washed and dried. I have never experienced a toy melting when left in contact with other toys, but I don't want to risk it.

Because this toy is partially composed of silicone, it should only be paired with WATER based lubricants. Using oil and silicone (or even silicone/water hybrids) could potentially result in damage to the coating, making the toy unsafe for use.
    • Be careful when cleaning
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The Gigi comes in a relatively flimsy tealish-blue and white box with a glossy finish. The box features pictures of the Gigi as well as some info about the toy within.

When you open this outer box, you will find a rather elegant-looking, more heavy/dense cardboard black box, completely plain except for the word LELO in silver print on top. When you open the black box, you will find the Gigi, nestled within a velvet coated compartment. Below, there is another compartment that opens to reveal a very thorough instruction manual, a charger, a satin drawstring pouch, and a small packet of water based lube.

The outer box (teal and white) really isn't worth keeping, but the black box works wonderfully for storage if you have the space for it.

    • Good for storage
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

The Gigi was my first higher-end toy, and I'm definitely feeling spoiled! After a thorough search and struggling to decide, I finally went with the Gigi, since it was within my price range and looked to be rather versatile.

Upon its arrival, I rushed to get it out of the packaging so I could charge it and try it out. To be completely honest, I was surprised at how small it was! I'd been expecting it to be 7 or 8 inches long, not 6.5!

I've always focused more on clitoral stimulation, so a toy completely focused on the G-spot was new to me. I wasn't sure what I was doing.

Initially, I lubed the toy up and inserted it, wiggling around until I felt a little tingle. [hm, that must be the right spot...] I felt a bit silly, just holding the toy there, so I tried some thrusting. [well, that's nice... but this will take forever if I just do it that way!] I slid it out and pressed against my clit [ooh, I like you!], but didn't want to miss out on the g-spot experience. I ended up shifting the toy back and forth from my g-spot to my clit, then kept it on my g-spot when I knew I was about to orgasm.
[Huh... So THAT's a g-spot orgasm...]

I wasn't overly impressed. Since then, I've mainly used the Gigi for clitoral stimulation, with occasional g-spot stimulation. I guess I'm just not a g-spot kind of gal! That's alright, because the Gigi is really great to use on my clit while having sex with my partner, or during foreplay.

Another use I've found for it is holding it underneath my partner's testicles while performing fellatio, which REALLY gets him riled up!
Follow-up commentary
This is one of my top vibrators (right alongside the Uma). Really, it is just such a lovely little toy, we keep it in the top drawer where it's easily accessible.
Like I said before, my only complaint is the placement of the control pad. When you're in the middle of pleasuring yourself (or being pleasured), the last thing you want is a major distraction like the toy turning off or suddenly changing settings!
