#EdenLit - Club Meeting - August 13, 2012 @3 pm EST

Contributor: Airen Wolf Airen Wolf
The time of the meeting has officially been changed so please take note of the time change. We will be meeting at 3 pm eastern instead of 7pm eastern! Thank you all for being so understanding!
This month we had a HUGE number of posts and most of the community has given some really nice feedback. Here's a clickable list for those who are interested in reading through them quickly before the club meeting:
Little Star by ScarletFox
Geisha by ThornRose
Ode To The TV by Woman China
Moving From The Dark Into The Light by Izzaba
Titles And Words by Airen Wolf
Did I Just Dream Of The Guilty Pleasures? by Izzaba
Sex And Lies by ThornRose

Sadistic Adoration by ScarletFox
On Going Submission by Mistress M

WOW! Poetry really sparked the club this Month! I'm kinda thinking that we need to have a place for poetry that is a little more formal. Like a sort of static topic choice? Maybe with it's own themes? Something to think about since we seem to be very excited about this form of expression. What would you guys think about having a few workshops dealing with the writing of more structured and formal forms of poetry?

We have SO much to talk about this month that it is going to be a hopping and exciting meeting. Keep an eye on SexIs as we will be featuring a writer there every month. SO exciting!

Remember about the time change and bring your thinking caps cause we are going to be discussing, working things out and just plain redecorating our club house!

Yup, Poetry seems to be a major draw! Maybe we can get the open topic better explained so our poets will feel at home. If only there was a club manager who could do this for us....

Welcome to the August, 2012 meeting of the Eden Lit Club

We have so much to discuss! Have you seen the Eden Lit write up in SexIs? Eden Lit Club So our featured writer this month is Woman China. She has been an avid contributor for most of the time Eden Lit has been around. Congratulations and thanks!

Each Month we will be featuring a writer on SexIs and sharing with their readers the excellent work we do here. The featured writer will have exerpts of thier work posted and receive 1,000 points.
How do you become a featured writer, you ask? Well, it's simple...you write and post your work to the Eden Lit Club forum. Then you attend meetings, make suggestions, and simply be an active member! Simple as that.

Now let's talk about the work this Month. So I guess Poetry is a very popular form of expression in our club! Should we have a separate topic for poetry? How can we showcase poetry so people feel confident about posting their work?

I think the poetry really took of well, too. Maybe it should be a permanent fixture.

I agree, I really liked the poetry. I think it should become a topic that we can do each month.

I could see a permanent poetry place here!

So maybe expand the topic choices? Open topic and poetry as static choices?

That sounds good.

Do you think we should have suggested poetry topics? Or would we like to learn about different types of poetry? What would be the best method to learn new forms of poetry?

I think building a short lesson plan describing the poetry would be neat.

I would love to learn about different types of poetry that would be fun, but I am always eager to learn anything new to broaden my writing skills.

I could do that! I prefer free form poetry but I do actually know how to write more structured forms.
Perhaps a series of how-to guides?

Ok, I can get to working on that. I have a sort of start to a grammar guide. So poetry and what else? I know we had an interest in character development.

It happens to be a specialty of mine...as well as setting the scene. I'll work up a guide for that as well.

Thank you! That is the one thing that I really like about poetry, I really am able to let a lot of things just pour out sometimes.
