The crystal jellies anal toy is made from jelly, and cannot be sterilized in boiling water, and should be kept out of the microwave as well. It is somewhat rigid, pliable and soft with no sharp edges, all good features for beginning anal play. It is difficult to find anal toys that are firm, yet pliable and soft. This one is all of these desired features. I use a silicone lubricant, and plenty of it too, I believe there is no such thing as too much lube. It may take a few attempts to get it all the way in, or most of the way in, but when inserted fully it will stimulate the prostate, and repeated attempts can generate fluid flow, the pre-cum.

There seems to be a bit of an odor, but I feel it will dissipate over time, and not be an issue. The odor is not overpowering, just noticeable. I think the odor is best described as rubbery.
