Athena - double ended dildo discontinued by Luxotiq - review by unfulfilled

The Athena by Luxotiq is a luxurious glass toy and is my favorite glass toy to date. The wonderful curve to Athena makes it great for g-spotting or vaginal play. Luxotiq claims on their website that the Athena is "becoming of the contours and desires of the body." It has two ends that can be inserted, but it is probably too short to work with two partners inserting it together.

It does not have any flared base, so I would not recommend using this anally.

This can be used solo or with a partner inserting it for you. I use mine alone, but if you have a partner willing to play with you make sure that they know glass is a harder material that has no give at all and to not thrust too vigorously with it as it could potentially bruise ones cervix.

It can be used in any water setting that you please.

Glass is a great material for temperature play, so if you like temperature play or are wanting to experiment using temperature play, the Athen has that option as well.

I find it best suited for those who like smooth glass toys and not those with textures. It's also best for those who do not require a motor to be stimulated.

No matter how you use it, I think you will agree with me that the Athena is a wonderful addition to your toy box.

The wonderful Athena is made of Pyrex glass. According to Wikipedia Pyrex is a brand of borosilicate glass that is more resistant to breakage when dropped. However, make sure to look over your toy carefully for any cracks or chips before using for the first time. If it happens to break, it will break into larger pieces instead of shattering everywhere.

Glass rates a ten on the Eden safety scale so it is one of the safest materials that you can get. Glass has wonderful properties such as it is non porous, hypoallergenic, latex free, and phthalates free. Glass is also completely odorless and tasteless.

As I mentioned earlier glass is a wonderful material for those who enjoy temperature play. All you need to do to change the temperature is to put it in a warm or cool glass of water. It came to me already cool. I do not suggest putting it in the microwave or freezer.

Glass has no give to it at all so it is not for those who prefer flexible toys. The Athena is completely smooth and has no texture to it whatsoever so it is not recommended for those who appreciate texture in their toys.

The Athena comes in two color options pink and blue I have the blue and it is a very pretty dark blue color which I love. It is double ended and has a smaller end and larger end to suit a variety of needs. The larger end has an L written into the glass. It has a curve to it which is great for g-spotting.

Glass varies from piece to piece so my sizes may be different than your sizes and I know they are different that what the product page mentions. For my Athena it measures 9" long from end to end and 10 1/2" if you measure with the curve. The small end measures 4" around and the large end measures 5" around. The curve measures 2 1/2" around.

I feel that users of all experience levels can appreciate Athena and its wonderful sizes. The small end is best for those who prefer thinner toys, and the larger end is best suited for those who like thicker toys, but not something that is too thick.

Athena doesn't look like a realistic penis, but I can't think of anything that I'd consider it to be besides a sex toy. As I mention in all my reviews, if discretion is important to you, I would suggest keeping this put away.

If you were going to travel with it, you need to pack it in some sort of bag because this did not come with a bag. I have not had any issues traveling with it inside one of my Jopen bags. It is a perfect size to fit in a medium sized purse or bag.

I have no complaints whatsoever about the Athena. It is a great size and weight for me and is very easy to handle. I did not have any issues with the weight like I do with the Pure Wand so I can use this for longer periods of time. I really enjoy the rounded tips of the Athena and the smooth material of the Athena felt wonderful while inserted.

Athena is not considered to be harness compatible and it does not have a suction cup so it cannot be used for those purposes.

I love glass toys because they are so easy to care for. You can submerge this in water and not have to worry about a thing. You can use antibacterial soap and water, toy cleaner, or toy wipes. You can also boil this for no longer than 5 minutes or use a 10% bleach solution to ensure it is sterile. I normally just use my Eden wipes or soap and water when I clean my toys because I am the only one that is using them.

This is quite a nice package for a glass toy. It was packaged in its own white box, with white satiny finish over padding. It also included a pink glass wipe cloth similar to what you get at the eye doctors for your glasses.

I grabbed this when Eden was having a crazy Thursday sale and it was 40% off. It had been on my wishlist forever, but I hadn't had a chance to order it yet. I was so glad that I finally had the chance to order this and lucky for me that it was on a great sale. This was my first more expensive glass items that I have purchased, and I am so glad that I did.
