Amethyst - double-ended glass dildo by EdenFantasys - review by Bethy Cassatt

I'll admit it, I like temperature play all over the map, but my favorite thing in the world so far is that low-down and comfortable temperature of glass when it's been sitting in my cute little toy box out of the rays of the sun all day. The Amethyst is perfect for that nice cool touch down yonder, and with such a loving shape and in so many amazing colors, how could one pass up such a classy addition to the cave of wonders?!

The Amethyst is, despite it's name, made of glass! However, be wary, as many others have said, this is not the bullet-proof kind and the Amethyst may sadly break if one might drop it while over concrete or hard tile! Invest in some nice, soft mats for the bathroom, because if you take this to the tub, it might slip like the proverbial bar of soap out of your hands.

The texture of the toy itself is sleek and cold, with that smooth surface you've come to expect from falling asleep on the windows of the bus on the way home. There's no surprise velvety cover or bumpy add-ons. What you see is what you get. The glass makes this a phenomenally fun toy to clean, so use it with any lube desired!

The double-ended toy is the best toy in my opinion. What can you do with such versatility? Have yourself a real good time!! The hooked end is just the right curve, both bent and gentle, making it great to hit the g-spot. The head is smooth, not pointy, allowing for pressure to be applied to your happy-place without a painful pinching or poking feeling.

The reverse end is what I'm truly raving about when I say that you're getting the best of both worlds - so much bumpiness! There is not a prevalent texture to the glass itself, just two spherical objects with an ovular head, so your lady bits can be spoiled with the fluidity of the movement that the form makes. The very tip of this side is also gentle and easy, making the experience of using the ribbing that much more enjoyable.

Now, what really makes this toy great in my opinion is that when you're using either end, the one left outside is a great handle!! The bumpy side makes it easy for lubed fingers to find a place to hold on to, and when you're riding the wavy seas, the ovular point to the curved side acts as a stopper so no matter how slick your hand has become, you won't loose a hold. That is just plain ingenious! The Amethyst makes fast and slow play easy and fun, without fear of hitting yourself in the leg with your own toy when you loose grip.

What can I say? I found love in my little package of green glass! I can't speak more highly of this toy than I already have. It is what it is and there's just no denying it. Everything about it makes for a gentle and appealing performance, OR for something rough and tumble, depending on what you want.

The performance truly depends on you and your wants and desires:

Do you want moderate texture? You got it!

Do you want a slick and clean feel with moderate pressure on the holiest of holies? You got that too!

Do you want to pump that piece of glass until you're pretty sure that the only thing lubing that toy is your
own sheer tenacity of orgasms and precocious love of glass inside you? You can have that feeling too!

Do you want something both fun but non-intimidating to use? There it is!

Do you want a surprisingly great cat scratcher? ... Well, yeah, I just tried that too, and it worked. (My cat is weird) And on another note, pet safe!

Like I've said, glass is easy to clean no matter what you put your baby through. It's nonpourous and works with any lube you prefer, however, remember that this is glass. It's apparently non-tempered so if you drop it, you're going to be left waiting for the UPS to ship you a new one and for your significant other to help you pick up the glass shards.

I've recently discovered that, while it doesn't hold pet hair nor does it hold lint, for some reason it can have dead skin cells adhere to it. I was just playing around with it, my hands being rather dry right now, and I looked down to notice small, white flecks on my Amethyst as if static electricity were an issue. I doubt this is a big problem for anyone, but it might be a bit distracting or tedious. If your Amethyst is dry, I suggest avoiding using a tissue to wipe it down, as it seems dust likes to stick to it.

Besides that, just keep it in the nice, velveteen bag it comes with in a nice, safe corner of your toy-box, with nothing that is too heavy or with hard edges nearby that could fall on it. (As a giant paranoid, I'm keeping my steel dildo separate and outside of my box for fear of a day I move and the box shakes and my Amethyst breaks...)

When my Amethyst came to me in the mail, all there was were the toy and it's velveteen bag. There are no instructions, but I wouldn't really fret over that, it's rather self-explanatory to use. Many have complained that the bag used to be much nicer and padded, but the bag itself is plush and keeps it out of most obvious dangers. I will not perform a drop-test to find out how affective the bag is, however, and may no one have to figure that out. Maybe choose to invest in a nicer bag with serious padding, but it's good enough to use for moderate travel, to put it in my toy box and to leave out in the living room. If you're going on a gargantuan journey and you're on a tight budget, I would wrap the Amethyst in bubble-wrap two or three times and then put it back in the velveteen bag-- that should work out just fine. But if you're perusing India and just can't keep the Amethyst in your carry-on, maybe it's best to leave it at home.

This has personally become one of my favorite toys so far. I can't really say more than that-- it's been a real pleasure to be taken around the block a time or two by my Amethyst. It is a great toy to help introduce people to other glass toys out there, and while it's not the wiz-bang-iest of the lot, it has great potential to stay on my favorites list for a long time to come.
