This toy is great for vaginal penetration, and would also be great anally. I have not used it anally, but it is flared enough at the base that it should be fine. Since it doesn't stimulate the clitoris, I prefer to use it in conjunction with a clitoral vibrator--it's fantastic and has me at an orgasm in no time.

I don't know that I'd recommend this or any glass toy to beginners since it is an unforgiving material and can cause painful bruising when thrusting too hard, but I did find that the curved end of the Amethyst was ideal for gentle thrusting. It's also not a huge size or very thick around (particularly on the curved side), so I wouldn't recommend it for people who like a lot of girth or length to their toys. I think it'd be perfect for someone new to glass toys and wanting to experiment with different textures, particularly since it's two toys in one (bulged end and curved end).

Glass is great for temperature play, but remember not to freeze it, since it can crack due to sudden extreme temperature changes. Putting it under hot or cold running water is fine and definitely adds to the "glass experience!"

This was my first glass toy that I got and really loved. The color is beautiful--I got the green one and it's very similar to the green of a glass beer bottle. The glass is very smooth and not prone to chipping or cracking when cared for properly.

The entire toy is approximately 8" long. I love that it is double-ended so that I can choose what experience I want. I usually used the curved end, which is about 4.5" in length and has a realistic head that hit my g-spot perfectly. There's not a lot of girth to this toy, which initially disappointed me, but I find it pleasurable enough that I don't even notice that it's not very thick.

The straight end has three bulges with a flared base (which starts at about the middle of the entire toy). I don't particularly enjoy the bulged end quite as much, but I could see how it would be pleasurable anally. It is an interesting texture and would be a good buy if you're someone who likes different toy designs.

I LOVE the curved end, it feels great on my g-spot and I don't have many other toys that hit it quite so perfectly. If I were re-designing it, I would maybe make it a tiny bit thicker, but that's just my personal preference. I find that it performs very well, regardless of the fact that I normally enjoy toys that feel a bit more "filling."

Glass can be a bit of a pain to store since you obviously have to worry about it getting cracked, but I keep mine in the velvet bag that it came in and have not had any issues. If you're somewhere where it might be dropped, it's better to put it in a case or padded bag so that it will be protected from breaking in a fall. I don't store it with any heavy toys, just to be on the safe side.

Glass is a dream as far as safety and cleaning are concerned--you can use soap and water, toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution. It's compatible with all lubricants.
