The Blue Swirl has been previously reviewed in depth by many knowledgeable users, so this brief article will focus on the toy's gender play and anal uses.

While not specifically designed for anal use, the Blue Swirl can be used this way thanks to its slim profile, moderate length and flared base. The shape fits into the semi-realistic category with a clearly delineated head and shaft. The head tapers nicely and the bevel is very smooth; this makes inserting it into your bum easy and should be comfortable for even beginner anal users. The texture on the shaft is a highlight of the toy. These swirled ridges provide noticeable stimulation whose intensity is somewhere in the light to moderately-light range. The flare on the base is rather small in diameter which can cause some of the problems listed below.

The Blue Swirl's size makes it a great warm up for ass play for moderate to experienced users. The small flare, however, can be problematic for more intense play; measuring in at about 1.5", the flare doesn't do the best job of keeping the Swirl out of your buttocks. I wouldn't recommend vigorous solo use and would advise informing partners of its limitations. Basically, be careful.

As far as harnesses are concerned, the flare once again can cause some issues. For a strap-on harness that uses O-rings, the Blue Swirl's flare is too small to fit the standard ring that comes with most models. Quality O-ring harnesses similar to the ASLAN or Outlaw Leather lines will allow you to switch the standard ring for smaller or larger sized rings that are purchased separately. Once a smaller harness ring has been swapped in, the Blue Swirl works perfectly. Other harnesses that use a built in elastic ring, such as the SpareParts or RodeoH may have a slightly harder time holding onto the Swirl. I can confirm that the Swirl can be used in the SpareParts line for light gender play, however, I can only theorize that its functional with the RodeoH as well. The RodeoH ring appears to be somewhat smaller than the Spareparts, so I would assume it should work. Harder and more vigorous thrusting can cause the Spareparts to lose hold of the dildo.

I love the Blue Swirl for starting off the night. Its very affordable price makes it an easy addition to any toy box, and its functionality will ensure its continued use. Its elastic O-ring harness problems can be mitigated by placing a cock ring around the base prior to inserting the Swirl through the holder. All of the other features mentioned by other reviewers such as its ability to hold temperature, rigid structure and easy cleaning make it an awesome toy.

The Blue Swirl still finds its way into about 50% of my play sessions as a warm up toy. Its simple effectiveness guarantees it'll stay there too!
