O2 Adam - realistic dildo by Tantus - review by Greenleaf

The Tantus 02 Adam is a slim, sharply curved, and very lightly textured, insertable dual density silicone toy. Adam is suited to internal penetration, or use in a harness. The 02 Adam sits nicely in my harness, due to the flared base, without drooping - but he does like to twist around at awkward times. Adam also works well with my Liberator BonBon. Its flare is useful again in this regard, keeping Adam snug and secure in the BonBon's pocket. Adam is safe for anal use (again with that super useful base!), and the plush dual density silicone helps prevent any sudden jabs or uncomfortable prodding.

The dual density silicone of Adam was a big selling point for me. The outer layer is squishy, soft, silky and lovely to touch, while the core of the toy is made of a firm, stiff silicone to help the toy maintain its shape and to mimic the "real thing". The head of Adam is made entirely out of the softer silicone, and is shiny and slick, whereas the rest of Adam has a matte texture. While the head has quite a bit of drag on skin, the shaft isn't quite so clingy. Silicone is a marvelous, body-safe toy material - easy to sterilize, durable, and it's non-porous, so it doesn't harbor bacteria.

The Tantus 02 Adam is fairly long, slim, and sharply curved. The inner core of firm silicone takes up much of the thickness of the toy, leaving only a very thin layer of squishy silicone on the exterior. This coating is also asymmetrical, with the "top" (inner portion of the curve) being very, very thin. The head is all squish though. The curve is designed for G-spot or P-spot stimulation. Adam is semi-realistic, with a frenulum and some very light and vague veins present, but it is largely a gentle approximation rather than trying to be true-to-life. I find the glossy-smooth head and the matte shaft to be visually appealing without hitting my "too realistic!" button.

Alright. We're finally getting to the negative point of the review. Adam is a well-made toy, don't get me wrong - but the shape will not be for everyone, and it's not for me. The curve, while it looks perfect for G-spot stimulation, just did not work for my body. It always felt like it was prodding me too high up, or hooking into me unpleasantly. Adam was too slim for my liking and too firm as well, since the outer layer of squishy silicone was so thin in places - which defeats the purpose of buying a dual density toy in my opinion. I was completely unable to thrust with Adam because of that darned curve, and was left extremely frustrated and underwhelmed with the experience.

The Tantus 02 Adam is made of high quality, 100% silicone. Silicone is a wonderful material that is both easy to store and easy to clean. To store Adam, simply wrap it up in a cloth or Ziploc bag to prevent any chemical reactions with other toys. To clean Adam, dunk him in the bath with some gentle soap or a toy cleaner, boil it, or put it on the top rack of your dishwasher, without detergent. Never use silicone lube with a silicone toy, as it can cause permanent damage to the toy.

The Tantus 02 Adam came packed in a moderately sturdy, clear box. The box is labeled in large font with information about the toy and Tantus. Adam came in a rather large package compared to the one my 02 Mikey came in, with a clam-shell insert. You could store Adam in its packaging if you really wanted to, but the excessive size did not make that a good choice for me.
