My personal opinion is that the twisted pleasure is for vaginal use only. There is a base, but the base is so small that it isn't truly safe for anal play. Not to mention that the texture is a little extreme and quite rigid for anal play as well. However, feel free to look at my picture of the base and to decide for yourself.

With that little warning out of the way, the texture of the twisted pleasure makes it an extremely appealing vaginal toy. Though it isn't curved for the g-spot, with the right aim and maneuvering, it certainly can stimulate mine. I've also found that angling the toy to let the texture run along the top or sides (versus aiming straight and thrusting), is particularly satisfying. It also protects your cervix from getting hit head-on and bruising. This is also why I like to twist the twisted pleasure versus full-power thrusting it. The texture is intense enough to make a difference, but when used vaginally, I don't think that the twisted will intimidate many beginners. If anything, it would be the rigid glass material that would.
As another way to use the twisted pleasure, I squeeze my vaginal muscles around it while kind of gently and shallowly thrusting it. This does intensify the texture, and it also makes my orgasms much stronger if I do it right before I hit my peak.
Finally, the twisted pleasure makes a fantastic partner for temperature play. Either warm or cool it...I use a warm bowl of water or my fridge. Generally speaking, I find that cooling the item is more satisfying than warming it, but beginners might relax more easily with a warmed toy.

This item is made of glass, which is a 10/10 on EF's safety scale. I prefer glass toys for both their beauty and the fact that they can be sterilized. However, they are also non-porous, hypoallergenic, latex free, and phthalates free. Basically, the ingredients don't irritate individuals the way a jelly toy or other item lower on the safety scale might. Glass also has no smell or taste, which will please those with a sensitive nose. For the texture, EF calls the twisted pleasure ribbed, but I'm not sure that's the way I would describe it. The texture is an upraised swirl on the item, not a row of ribbing. The twists can be felt during any kind of vaginal penetration, but they become more noticeable depending on the position and also if you squeeze down on the toy. The head is smooth and tapered. The glass does not have any give, so beginners may be dissuaded for that reason. The texture by itself will not be enough to dissuade many beginners.

This is not a toy with a lot of girth. The texture does make it feel slightly larger than it actually is. I LOVE the texture of this toy, and I love experimenting with it. Having one toy that can provide different sensations without vibrating is truly unique. However, the base on the twisted pleasure almost seems pointless. It is so similar in size to the rest of the toy that it just isn't safe. Then again, for a toy with this kind of rigidity and texture, anal play is best left to the pros anyway.

I'm very pleased with the performance of the twisted pleasure. It works the way that I want it to work for me. The base isn't the best. As previously mentioned, I don't feel that it is safe. However, it also is not substantial enough for me to feel safe using this item in conjunction with a harness. The texture and girth are just right in my opinion...if it were given more texture, it would turn a lot of people off, and if it were given more girth it would also intimidate those who aren't texture fanatics.

Clean with a bleach solution, by boiling, on the top rack of the dishwasher, with soap and water, with toy cleaner, or with toy wipes. Basically, this item is super low maintenance when it comes to cleaning. Just remember, if sharing the toy, it must be sterilized and not just cleaned unless a condom is used. It is compatible with all lubricants. The only thing that is slightly difficult is that this item is breakable, and therefore, it cannot just be thrown into a drawer. Wrapping the item in the bubble wrap and typical red drawstring bag that it comes in works just fine. If the item sits in a sunny place for awhile, it can absorb heat. If it sits in a cold place for awhile, it can absorb the cold.
