Amethyst - double-ended glass dildo by EdenFantasys - review by roskat

The Amethyst is a double-ended glass dildo with a wonderful curved shape for G-spotting. One end of the dildo is slimmer with a bulbous head while the other end has three bulbs and a narrow ridge. Both ends provide somewhat different stimulation. This makes the toy a great introductory piece for those new to glass material or a good addition for seasoned glass lovers.



This toy can be used vaginally as well as anally. While this toy doesn't have a flared base, the curved end makes it harder for it to accidentally get sucked inside the ass. But obviously use care while using this anally. Glass pieces can become extra slippery when wet or lubed up so make sure you have a good hold of the toy. I find both ends suitable to hold on to as handles.

The dildo is made out of solid Pyrex glass which is a very safe material. It's silky smooth, completely non-porous and the toy doesn't have any seams to it. Glass feels absolutely amazing as it slides so easily inside. It's obviously a rigid and unforgiving material so care should be used as it can became uncomfortable if used with too much force. Nobody likes a bruised cervix.

You can sterilize this toy completely so it's suitable for sharing between users. This is also especially important when going between anal and vaginal use. Glass pieces can be cleaned very easily: use soap and water, toy wipes, 10% bleach solution, boil it or wash it in the dishwasher. Whatever suits your needs.

Any kind of lube can be used with glass. Glass is also an amazing material for temperature play. The easiest way to cool down or warm this wand is to place it in a bowl of water. Or just run it under the faucet for a few minutes. If you're heating this toy, test it on the inside of your wrist before use so you don't burn yourself.



My toy has couple of flecks inside the glass. I think they might be air bubbles. But they can't be felt on the surface. They don't affect the use of this toy so I don't really consider them an issue. You can see them in the photo above.

The bulbous heads on both ends of this dildo are 3.5 inches in circumference. The two other bulbs on the straight end are slightly thicker with 3 ¾ inches. Total length of this curved dildo is almost 8 inches. The slim shaft is about 2.5 inches in circumference. The measurements can vary a bit from toy to toy.



The Amethyst comes in four gorgeous colours (purple, pink, blue and green). I have the green one. There aren't that many green toys around so when I first saw this, I knew I had to have it. The shade is a beautiful emerald when the light catches it. In dimmed artificial lighting it can look almost black. I took most of my photos in natural light so that the colour would show as correctly as possible.

Even if this toy isn't shaped after an actual penis, it's quite obvious what it's meant for with the bulbs. So it isn't exactly that discreet.

I like the Amethyst but I also have the Deep Wand G which I prefer over this. While the curve on the Amethyst is considered very good for G-spotting, I find the Deep Water G more pleasurable. I can also hit my sweet spot with that toy even if it's not curved that much. And I can thrust with the Deep Water G – the more extreme curve of the Amethyst makes it much harder or even impossible. The straight end with the bulbs is fine for thrusting.



I also think that this toy is just too slim for me for vaginal use. It doesn't give me a filled up feeling at all (the bulbous and thicker straight end is better for this). The narrow head of the curved end and the shaft is much slimmer than on the Deep water G. At least for me this makes it considerably more difficult to rub my G-spot effectively. I wish this toy was thicker with a more bulbous head similar to the one on the Deep Water G.

Pyrex glass is a very strong and durable material. Even if you accidentally drop this toy it will most likely survive the fall without damage (watch Toy Time Tim's test on Pyrex glass). If it breaks, it will break into chunks. But obliviously you shouldn't go around hitting this wand on hard surfaces. Even though I'm careful when storing this toy, I run my fingers on the surface before each use just to make sure the toy doesn't have any cracks or nicks on it.

With glass you should also try to avoid sudden extreme changes in temperature. This could possibly cause some damage to the toy.

These dildos don't come in an actual box packaging. The wand came wrapped in bubble wrap and it was placed inside the red velvet storage pouch. Both of my SSA Glass pieces came shipped this way to the other side of the world. Neither were damaged in any way so the bubble wrap did provide enough coverage. No instructions come with the toy.



The velvet pouch isn't padded so store your toy carefully. It does have a drawstring closure but does not come with the metal clip you see in my photo. I added that to my pouch to make it much more secure. The pouch is also machine-washable.

I'll give this toy four stars. It's a good toy but the head is too slim for G-spotting for my taste. It also doesn't make me squirt quite the same as the Deep Water G does. But it's a good glass dildo nonetheless, and I can recommend it as long as you take notice of the size.
