Clit or Miss

While the Sqweel 2 is certainly one of my more interesting toys, I like it for its concept more than its ability. Still, it offers some variety...and even more if you purchase additional accessories. It's just important to note the difference between a tongue lashing and a tongue teasing before buying this toy.

Use

The Sqweel 2 is a one-of-a-kind toy that mimics oral sex. The particular wheel (the original wheel) included with the Sqweel 2 specifically mimics a kind of lapping of the tongue. Although the settings are supposed to allow the tongue to move forwards, backwards, or to flick back and forth, the sensation offered is basically the same. Though the Sqweel 2 maintains that it's a clitoral stimulator in its owner's guide, the flicking sensation of a fake tongue is bound to be useful for nipples as well. Also, although I don't have the equipment to prove it, I would imagine that there are a few guys out there lubricating this toy up for use. I would like to say that I have used this simulator with more than one partner, and I was told by multiple men that it's too odd to be a turn on for partner play. Both for that reason and just as a preference, I find solo play to be the best option for the Sqweel.

Material / Texture

The cover of the Sqweel 2 is made of a hard plastic, while the actual wheel is silicone. Silicone was an obvious choice for a more realistic tongue-like feeling, as well as for its non-porous benefits. However, the fact that the silicone wheel doesn't seem to separate completely from the plastic parts means that the wheel can't be sterilized...there is always a plastic piece in the center of the wheel. Silicone also has no smell to it nor does the plastic for this toy. Yet, silicone does have some drag, and this is where I see many reviewers make the note to use A LOT of lubricant with the Sqweel 2 in order to keep from rubbing your clit raw. At least this lint-magnet material is well protected with a plastic cover snapping over the wheel.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The Sqweel 2 offers the ability to switch out the wheel, which means that the Sqweel 2 must come apart. For this reason, there are four pieces: a pink plastic cover for the top,a white cover that can be unlocked and comes off of the side, the wheel, and the piece with the power button. Luckily, the design is fairly easy to understand. It just doesn't make cleaning this toy a very simple process. This is especially true when the tongues must be well lubricated and the lubricant gets down into the base as the tongues spin.

The tongues themselves are about an inch long, and there are ten of them (though only five are exposed at any given time). The tongues do curve slightly, though with how flexible they are, I'm not necessarily sure that a curve to the tongues offers any improvement.

While there really aren't competitors for Sqweel 2, I'm not going to say that the design is flawless. The idea behind the design is fantastic! After all, the market for women who want to be licked nightly has to be a large one. That being said, the Sqweel 2 in no way, shape, or form, compares to actually having my clit licked. I haven't tried the original Sqweel, but I'm hoping that the fact that there is a Sqweel 2 means that this line will continually be improved upon. I also haven't tried any of the other wheels for this product, but I feel that a different wheel could possibly be a great improvement for this toy.

The Sqweel 2 is not discreet nor is it stealthy. I'm sure that the Sqweel 2 can be heard through a closed door and through thin apartment or dorm walls. It's also odd looking yet if I sent a picture of it to 5 people, 4 would know it was some kind of sex toy. Finally, it does turn on VERY easily, so if you plan to travel with it, take the batteries out!

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are two buttons on the Sqweel 2 that are placed smack dab on the front and can easily be found. One is a power button, which is much to easy to accidentally press. Both buttons light up blue when the power button is pressed. The power button also must be held down in order to turn this simulator off. The power button is also in charge of the 3 speeds for this toy. The button to the right of the power button is what changes the wheel function from clockwise to flick back and forth to counterclockwise. The buttons are so close together that it is easy, in the heat of the moment, to press the wrong button.

The Sqweel 2 is not waterproof, and therefore special instructions are included for cleaning (check the care and maintenance section). The battery compartment MUST stay dry, which is probably why the batteries are loaded from the back where lubricant won't drip down into the compartment. 3 AAA batteries are required.

The major performance issue that I find is that the tongue stops completely with even mild pressure. This product is really giving the impression of a light tongue flicking versus licking. The problem is I'd much rather be licked with enthusiasm than tongue teased.

Care and Maintenance

The Sqweel 2 comes with an owner's guide. Though it looks like this multi-paged instruction packet, only two pages and a small paragraph of warning are actually in English. The warning just clarifies that this isn't a medical item, and don't use on inflamed or broken skin. Then, there is a page on how to use Sqweel and another page on how to care for sqweel. It's broken down with drawings with these instructions (not exact wording):
1. Slide the switch to unlock the cover. Remove the cover.
2. Take out the wheel and wash in warm soapy water or with toy cleaner.
*Wipe inside of Sqweel with damp cloth. Dry case and wheel before putting them back together.
*Take the batteries out if not using the Sqweel for more than a few days.
What I do is take the Sqweel completely apart and then wipe down everything except for the wheel (thanks to the lubricant slinging) with a damp cloth followed by soaking the wheel in warm soapy water for a short time, and I will tell you that it still doesn't feel hygienic to me. Still, storage is just unbelievably easy. I take out the batteries and always store all of my batteries in a bag in the fridge together. The Sqweel itself comes with a cover that means that this toy doesn't have to be stored in some bulky packaging.

Last but not least, water-based lubricant is recommended, which has its advantages and disadvantages. Water-based lube is the easiest lubricant to clean up I find. This is especially valid for a toy that kind of slings lubricant. Yet, water-based lubricant often needs reapplied as well, and since this toy must stay well lubricated to keep from rubbing you raw, it's important to choose a lube carefully. I recommend Sliquid sassy booty formula which comes in a bottle with a pink label.
    • Easy to store
    • Hard to clean
Follow-up commentary
Since my original review, I've started to like the Sqweel quite a bit more. I've learned to not skimp on the lube, and I plan to add all three accessory wheels to my collection in order to switch it up sometimes. I just wish it could handle a little more pressure!
