The We-Vibe Salsa will replace all your bullets and probably some of your smaller insertable vibrators and 'outie' clitoral vibrators. Primarily, female-bodied power lovers will swoon over the Salsa. For me personally, it was the dream my clit was dreaming all along!

I would use the We-Vibe Salsa much like any bullet, but the possibilities are really endless with a high-powered, multiple-function, rechargeable and waterproof bullet. Stimulating just your clit would be like vanilla ice cream, a delicious staple you can't complain about: but don't forget getting sleeves for your Salsa (it's just about standard shape and size), shallow vaginal penetration, as well as nipple, perineum and anal teasing. Don't use the Salsa for any anal penetration, however, as it's small and unflared. It's strong enough to tease larger areas like the inner thighs, stomach, buttocks and even semi-erogenous areas like your toes and feet if you're into that!

The Salsa will work just about anywhere you want it to. It's waterproof, so tubs, showers and pools are new play zones, especially since most other bullets can't go there. I've found that it holds a charge quite well, so extended play sessions are definitely made possible! Additionally, the Salsa is so quiet, it's easily drowned out by my other toys that rate at 3 bees. At its very loudest, the Salsa breaks 2 bees but its vibrations are at a lower frequency, so they don't even carry a far distance. People with roommates, parents or kids, rejoice!

The We-Vibe Salsa is made of glossy finish plastic, which makes for a very hard surface that doesn't absorb any bit of its vibrating power. When I opened up the box, there was zero taste or smell to it, just a shiny, sexy machine.



Since the entire body of the Salsa is smooth, hard plastic, there's obviously no texture to feel during use, which makes it great for beginners and advanced users alike but it's also about as slippery as a bar of soap. Combine that with vibration and it's like a rodeo for your fingers. If you hold the Salsa with your fingers loosely wrapped around it, it will rotate and vibrate out of them. This sucker is strong!

The Salsa is shaped much like a standard bullet, with the straight up-and-down body and the slightly tapered tip. The color I received was cherry red, which is just gorgeous.

The no-frills design really lends itself to versatility. The tip transmits vibrations for pinpoint stimulation, but the entire body rumbles, which means you can use the tip directly, lay the entire body across your vulva or shallowly penetrate (vagina only!) to stimulate the clitoral cuff, vaginal entrance and inner labia. The lack of texture and small size make the Salsa perfectly and immediately accessible to beginners and seasoned toy users. The Salsa even caters to those who want extended play in the form of teasing with patterns as well as those who want a quickie.

The single button makes it easy to turn on or off (hold to turn on or off, one click to go to the next function). Like all one-button toys, you must cycle through the functions to find a particular one, but this wasn't too onerous for me. The Salsa, like the We-Vibe Touch, will remember what function you were on last.

The Salsa is quite small at 3 1/2". For reference, this is about the length of a woman's middle finger.
It's also very small in girth, around 2". Compared again to a finger, this makes it thicker than one, but not as thick as two fingers.



The small size makes the Salsa so easy to have around, hide or travel with. A white, satin, drawstring pouch is included for this purpose.

Much like its friend the We-Vibe Touch, which I also own, it has a characteristic set of steady plus patterns:

1. Low, steady. Very deep and rumbly! (1 bee)
2. Mid-low, steady. Still rumbly. (1 bee)
3. Moderate, steady. This seems to be in between buzzy and rumbly.
4. High, steady. Higher pitched, a little buzzy.(2 bees)

This is where the Salsa shines! I've never been much for patterns, but the Salsa charms me like no other. I think the key is probably because the Salsa can deliver both rumbly and buzzy vibrations. In fact, going from its medium-low function to the the high seems to involve a switch over from deep, low frequency vibrations to the higher-pitched, surface vibrations. This makes pattern play a truly unique experience.

As I mentioned above, the Salsa is quiet. The rumbly vibes are the truly whisper-soft ones while the buzzier vibes are a bit louder. Underwater, this toy doesn't lose any power!

I noted in my We-Vibe Touch review that a significant flaw is the loss of vibration power with pressure. This does NOT happen with the Salsa, I'm very happy to say!

A little light can be seen at the charging area and in the body, towards the end when it's in use. It's pretty discreet and very charming, since it pulses to the 'beat' of the functions. In a normal, lighted room, you can barely see it.

Because it's waterproof, the Salsa is so easy to clean. The manual recommends soap and water, but its non-porous surface also lends itself to a quick and easy wipe down with a toy wipe or other wet wipe. You definitely shouldn't be using the Salsa for any anal penetration, so extensive cleaning should be unnecessary. More thorough cleaning could be accomplished with a bleach solution, but not by boiling or by putting the Salsa in the dishwasher. These methods would surely harm the electronics.

The manual recommends water-based lubes only, but since the Salsa is plastic, I imagine silicone or oil-based lubricants are an option. The same caveats apply, however, for these other lubes: if you use the Salsa with silicone lubes, don't bring in other toys to play that are silicone; if you use the Salsa with oil, be aware that it will break down condoms. I would stick to what the manual recommends.

Storage is so easy. Here's a peek at the full package, which is typical of We-Vibe and so handsome:



The molded plastic insert is perfect for storing your Salsa, since it won't rattle around and you can keep its charger and the manual with it. Keeping the Salsa away from other toys, however, is not really an issue since it's made of hard plastic. It plays well with others!

I have heard complaints that the Salsa's magnetic charging port is finicky. I don't think this is true. The Salsa clicks into its circular adapter easily and somewhat firmly (similar to a Mac's charging port). I've never had a problem setting up the Salsa to charge and coming back to find that it's disconnected.
