Use

The We-Vibe Salsa is a bullet vibrator that is best suited for stimulating the clitoris. It will also work in many toys that have a bullet hole, turning them into an insertable vibrator. It's a seriously powerful little vibe, so it's a great choice for those who want the most power in the smallest size.

Material / Texture

The Salsa is constructed of "100% body-safe PC-ABS thermoplastic" according to We-Vibe's website. It's completely smooth save for some raised lettering near the base that says "Salsa" on one side and "We-Vibe" on the other. This slight texture shouldn't be bothersome in use, and in fact it creates a bit of a grip which is nice, because grasping the base is how you'll be holding the Salsa in use. The very bottom of the Salsa is a kind of soft material, and it feels a lot like silicone. There are also two metal nubs on the base on either side of the power/function button; these nubs are what connects the Salsa for recharging.

Design / Shape / Size

The Salsa is 3.25 inches long, with a circumference of 2 inches. It's pretty small, and this is a good thing in that it doesn't get in the way when using an insertable toy at the same time, but it's also potentially more easy to lose. I've misplaced it a few times to find that it had fallen behind my bed, which is a pain to move so I can retrieve it. So make sure to keep an eye on it, even when it's on a nightstand or other flat surface because its round shape makes it prone to roll away.

The tip of the Salsa comes to a point, which is great for those who love pinpoint stimulation. Using the point is a bit too intense for me, so I slant it when using it to get a broader surface.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Salsa is pretty easy to operate, as it only has one button. Pushing it once turns it on, and it remembers what setting it was last on. Press the button again to cycle through the vibration intensities and patterns. Hold down the button for about 2 seconds to turn it off. It will also turn off if you are on the last pattern and push the button again.

There are four steady vibration intensities, and four patterns. The cycle is as follows:

First vibration intensity
Second vibration intensity
Third vibration intensity
Fourth vibration intensity
Slow(ish) pulses
Roller coaster
Fast pulses
Cha Cha (It kind of goes like, bzz bzz cha cha cha. Bzz bzz cha cha cha.)

The Salsa is also not very noisy. This is great for those of us who need privacy; I never worry about anyone hearing it if my door is closed. Even if they put their ear to the door, I doubt that they could hear it. If you want to make sure though, having some music going or having the tv on will cover any sound coming from the Salsa.

The Salsa is also rechargeable. It comes with a little globe that is magnetic, which the Salsa's base clicks to, and that has a jack for the wall outlet. It takes about an hour and a half to charge in exchange for half an hour of use. I usually get a little longer than that because I don't normally go above the second vibration setting.

Care and Maintenance

Caring for the Salsa is super easy since it's waterproof. Plastic is non-porous, so soap and water is the simplest cleaning option. If you want to make sure that it's as clean as possible, you can also wipe it with rubbing alcohol. I suppose you could also wipe it with a 10% bleach solution, but my concern is that it might be harsher than necessary for cleaning the Salsa; I'm not sure how plastic does with repeated exposure to bleach.

The included instructions say to only use water-based lubricant with the Salsa. I think this is because, like I said, the base seems to be made of silicone.

Packaging

The Salsa came in a nice cardboard box with a plastic insert that holds the Salsa and its little charging globe that connects to the power cord. Also included are the instructions and a storage bag. The storage bag is of rather low quality, so I think I may have tossed it. The packaging also isn't very good for storage, so I recycled it.

Experience

The Salsa is an amazingly strong and rumbly clitoral vibe, considering how small it is. This makes it very convenient if you like power but don't feel like having to hold a larger wand-style vibe, or even something like the Eroscillator which needs to be plugged in for use. It's so strong that I only ever go up to the third vibration intensity, and rarely at that. I like starting on the first intensity, and going up to the second as I get closer to orgasm. It works great when using it with a dildo or with an insertable vibrator. When I'm not using my Eroscillator or my Smart Wand large, I'm using my Salsa. It's also perfect for traveling with. Another thing that I really like about it is that it's made of plastic. This is great because there is no drag (like silicone has), thus no need for lube, making one less thing to worry about if you're feeling spontaneous.

I recommend the Salsa to anyone who wants a convenient and powerful clitoral vibrator.
