I bought the Bottle Rocket Nova more than five years ago, and it was my first vibrator. It isn't very expensive at all, so it's a great way to learn about vibrators before you buy one that's more intense or has a daunting price tag.

What I love most about the Bottle Rocket Nova is how adorable it is. You can't really tell it's a sex toy. It comes in a plastic bottle with a base that holds the toy upright. What I initially tried to do was to pull off the top like a soda bottle cap, which of course isn't the correct way. You must twist the base to open it.

There are textures on the toy, but they don't really add anything except in terms of aesthetics. The material is silicone, which is soft and prevents it from getting too cold in the winter before you're ready to use it.

It's powered by a single AA battery. If you travel abroad, that's extremely useful, because you won't have to worry about getting an adapter or a voltage converter to charge it. Just bring along a couple of extra batteries.

It isn't too noisy, but it also isn't very powerful. There's only one speed/intensity, and the vibrations are pretty weak, coming from the motor in the tip and rippling out slightly throughout the rest of the toy. So you can potentially get vibrating stimulation all along your labia, but this toy is really ideal for precise clitoral stimulation.

You can insert it into your vagina if you want penetration, but it's pretty slim, so you probably won't get much out of it that way unless you're very sensitive or don't need much girth to get off. It may actually be good for anal penetration because it's not very big, although I haven't tried it myself so I can't attest to that with certainty.

To wash it, I just use water and soap, as it's waterproof. It's easy and convenient.

The beautiful thing about the BR Nova is that it's extremely reliable. Whereas many high-end vibrators tend to give out after a year or so if you use them regularly, this one is still going strong over five years later. I still use it when my nice ones are no longer functional or out of charge, because all you have to do is pop in a single AA battery and it's ready to go.
