Evolved's Bottle Rockets are mini vibrators with one speed of vibration. This one is the "Nova", which I call my little unicorn because it looks like a mini unicorn horn. Mine is white and has a spiraled shaft. Since the Nova is small both in girth and in length, it serves best as a clitoral stimulator or for shallow vaginal penetration. The insertable length is about the length of my pointer finger and has just about as much girth as my thumb. Even though Nova looks like it could be fun for anal penetration, you should steer clear; there is no flared base and it's so short that it could easily get sucked up and then you'd end up with a not so fun trip to the ER.

Nova, like the other Bottle Rockets comes packaged in a clear plastic bottle shaped container. It's a really cute package and would make an excellent gift choice. The bottle is also nice to hold the vibe in if you want to. Since it's made of plastic, it won't interact poorly with other materials and doesn't attract lint, so you might find that you don't really need something to store it in. It's such a fun looking little bottle though that I like to keep it in there.

As I said above, there is only one vibration speed to this little Unicorn. The speed is adequate, but I like choice in my vibration. Which, if I really think about it, is a bit strange. I almost always use the highest setting, so I am not sure why I feel the need to have more than one choice, but I do. I just like to have the option available I guess. The vibration that is offered is strong, but kind of on the buzzy side, not very deep. I also would say that it's loud enough to be heard through covers, but definitely not through a closed door.

Made out of ABS plastic, the Nova is compatible with any lube and easy to clean. You can use mild soap and water or a toy cleaner. It is not able to be sterilized, so use a condom if you will be sharing this vibe. The Nova is waterproof, which means not only can you bring it into the tub or shower with you, but it's also easier to clean since you don't have to worry about any moisture sneaking in. It takes only one AA battery and doesn't seem to be a battery hog. I love when vibes take only one AA battery, I'm always able to find one of them laying around the house! The battery compartment is at the base of the vibe underneath a screw on cap. The cap has an o-ring to help keep moisture out.

I use Nova as I would a bullet or an egg with the added benefit of being able to slip in a bit of vaginal stimulation. The spiraled shaft feels wonderful twirled over the labia and clitoris, but the texture is almost completely lost when used internally just about of the thin shaft. I find the vaginal stimulation to be best as a tease and not for attempting to fully climax from. This is especially nice during partner sex because it can be easily slipped in and out. I haven't even needed lubrication or anything with it.

This bottle rocket is also thin enough that you could use it between you and a partner during sex. It is hard plastic though, so it does have the potential of poking unless it's positioned right. The length being longer than a bullet is nice in this situation because you can position the vibe between you (I like to do this with me on top) with the tip pointed down and resting on the clitoris with the control button up at the top near the pubic bone. You can then easily turn it on or off without having to really reach down between the two of you. This is a big plus for me because sometimes enough is enough and I'm done with vibrations and just want to feel the motion of my husband and I. Being able to turn it off without having to pull away from him is pretty awesome and allows us to completely stay in the moment.

Overall, I found Nova to be a great teasing vibrator. There are those that almost always result in orgasm and then there are those that get you in the mood, but can't always get you where you want to go on their own. The Nova is hit or miss on its own, but I do love it as a teaser. It's definitely more a partner toy for me. That way it's some nice vibration and a little texture and my husband can make up for what the Nova lacks. In this situation it's win/win!

Would you believe that this little Unicorn is still going strong on its first battery? It's absolutely amazing that it hasn't even lost any power. Now, I do have to say that it doesn't see a whole lot of use. It isn't my first choice because the vibrations aren't so intense and they're a little bit on the buzzy side, but it does see some action and the battery does get a fair work out.

I would still recommend this one for a beginner, because it's a little mild, but not really weak. It's super quiet and it's small but not as small as a bullet. You can use this for some light vaginal penetration or as a clitoral vibrator. Because of that it's pretty versatile and it's also well made. These are things I would say are a great choice in a first vibe. I actually wish my first vibe had been something cute like this rather than the huge hot pink jelly vibrator it actually was!
