Minivibe Bubbles - g-spot vibrator discontinued by Fun Factory - review by lexical

The Minivibe Bubbles from Fun Factory is a short, thick, deeply ribbed vibrator. It is intended to be used externally or inserted vaginally, but is unsafe for anal play, since it is without a flared base or much of a handhold to speak of. Its bulged, curved shape applies pressure to the "roof" of the vagina (where the g-spot is), as well as the "floor" of the vagina, which is a unique (and not all together pleasant) sensation.

This toy is made of smooth, matte, high-quality silicone. Silicone is non-porous and hypoallergenic. It is a bit of a lint magnet. It has a very light smell, which is only detectable if you put your nose right up to it. It has no taste. The material is quite plush and squishy. It is somewhat flexible, but I would not recommend bending it too much, as doing so may damage the internal components. This type of material and texture is one of my favorites, but the shape of the Bubbles is just too much for me.

I was drawn immediately to this toy because of its design. Its shape is light-hearted and fun, with a softly ridged texture created by the "bubbles". Its curved, blunted head is just the type of shape that my g-spot loves. I have other insertable vibrators that work just fine for me, but I had to have this one. Or so I thought. The Bubbles is shaped like four bubbles connected to one another. It has a very short, small, black plastic handle, which is practically useless for maneuvering the toy. It barely gives you anything to hold onto, which is a huge point of frustration for me with the Bubbles.

If you know that you enjoy dramatically textured toys, this one might be perfect for you. It helped me to discover that, although I find these shapes visually appealing, my pussy just prefers smoother designs. The bumps and crevices of this toy are just far too intense for me. The curve does put pressure on my g-spot, but the texture makes it impossible for me thrust with it the way that I would need to in order to enjoy the stimulation. Also, the opposite side of the curve puts painful pressure on the back side of my vagina. I just do not enjoy having this toy inserted, let alone thrusting with it. Doing so is actually somewhat painful for me, even with lubricant.

I feel that if the Bubbles was just slightly narrower, it would be excellent. I normally love girthy toys, but the shape of this one combined with its thickness is too much, especially with its blunt tip that does nothing to ease insertion. The first bubble is 1 1/2" and the second is 1 5/8". When you're inserting this toy, it is really more like 2" in diameter, because of the blunt shape and the sudden curve. It is definitely a challenge to insert. It is nearly 6" from end to end, but it only has about 3 1/2" of insertable length, if you still want to be able to access the controls.

The controls on this toy are placed on the front part of the shaft. They are a large + button and a smaller - button, built into the soft, plushy silicone. They make a soft click when pressed. They are really fun to use. Unfortunately, if you insert it beyond the third bubble, those buttons are going to be inside of you and completely inaccessible. That means you're stuck with the setting you chose before you put it inside you.

Holding the + button turns the toy on a low, steady vibration. There are nine levels of steady vibration, which you can cycle through by using the + and - buttons. If you hold the + button, the vibrations will ramp all the way up to the strongest. If you release it and then press it again, you will find the patterns. The first is a slow thrumming, followed by a medium pulsing and a rapid pulsing. To turn the toy off or switch back to the steady vibrations, hold or press the minus button. Holding the - button down will cycle down through the vibration settings to the lowest one. In order to turn it off, you must release and then press the - button again.

The vibrations are a little too buzzy for me, despite the fact that they are quite powerful. It is fairly quiet on the lower settings, but can be heard through covers on the higher settings. The vibrations are located primarily at the center of the toy, rather than the very tip, which would have made it better for just riding and grinding on it as an alternative to thrusting.

Since this toy is completely waterproof, you can easily wash it with soap and water or wipe it down with toy cleaner or wipes. It is easy to care for, but should be stored in a pouch that will protect it from all the lint and hair it wants to collect! Only use water-based lube with this toy, since silicone will damage the toy's surface.

The Bubbles uses Fun Factory's neat Click 'n' Charge charging system. To use this type of charger, you simply line up the Fun Factory logo on the toy with the logo on the charger. Its magnet is supposed to hold it in place. Fun Factory recommends that you charge the toy completely before its first use. You will know the charge is complete when the red light on the charger turns off.

This toy came in the usual sturdy, attractive cardboard box with magnetized doors, chock full of information. Unfortunately, my friend was helping me clean up before we went away on vacation and the box was thrown away before I had a chance to photograph it and type up the details.
