For good reason: the one of a kind Flip open case is revolutionary when it comes to cleaning, and it also allows Tenga to design extraordinary textures for your penis to enjoy. The Flip Hole Red continues the innovation with a unique texture full of ripples, nubs and ribs, all designed for one thing...pleasure!

The Red, like all the Flip Holes, takes a bit longer to get ready for use but that time is worth it. First you have to slide off the cap and open it up. Add some of the included lube (You get three samples), close it up and re-install the cap. Now you are all set: plunge your penis into the opening and let the delightful texture caress and stimulate every inch you have. Three "buttons" on the outside allow you to adjust pressure/suction for a truly unique experience.

One of the best things about the Flip Holes is the ability to open them up for cleaning. No other stroker/masturbator is as easy to clean or dry. Once dry you can install the cap to cover the entrance, which keeps dust/hair off the toy and ready for use next time.

Tenga uses TPR silicone for the Red; this is a body safe material with no phthalates or latex. The material is soft like jelly, but still firm enough to feel every rib, ripple and nub. You will find a slight chemical smell and taste but that will fade with time. Tenga advertises that you can get fifty uses out of the Flip Holes, but I can vouch for many more than that: the Red will surely outlast other toys in the price range.

The texture - this is something that is hard to explain, because Tenga adds so much to the Flip Holes. First you have the entrance: this looks like an ordinary 3/4" hole. Just inside the hole it narrows down to 1/2' before the inner texture begins. We have to pause here and say that you get two sides of different textures.

One side starts with two fang like protrusions. These, when the toy is closed, fit into matching recesses on the other side to provide a tight entrance. They also act like a squeegee to help keep the lube inside. From there on is penis nirvana. One the one side you start off with 31 rectangle shaped nubs arranged in a grid like pattern, followed by two half moon shaped ribbed sections. We end this side with a "U" shaped ribbed section with the bottom of the "U" greeting your penis first.

On the other side we start off with a similar grid pattern of square shaped nubs but these are slightly smaller, with the center row of nubs shaped like the other side. These smaller nubs cover the first two inches in the center, but also run along the sides of a somewhat oval shaped dome that has small, soft ribs. Confusing eh? Well here, see for yourself.


What is great about the two different sides of texture is that you can turn the toy to provide different stimulation to your penis. How many other toys give you this kind of versatility?

The hinged sides are what set the Flip Holes apart from the others and give the toy its name. The cap has two long "legs" that have grooves that interlock with protrusions along the sides of the case. When you store the Red, the cap covers the entrance; during use the cap holds the two halves together. You can also use the Red without the cap for a less tight feel.

Aside from the wonderful flip open design are the three control buttons on each side. These allow the user to vary pressure to different parts of the penis and can also create some suction. The first button, by the entrance, will give a tight feel during penetration or to the base of the shaft during use. The second button when squeezed before penetration (or after) will create a suction like feel. The third and last button applies pressure to the head of the penis. You can use them singly or all together depending on your wants.

Depending on the lube used and whether or not you use the buttons, you will hear some slurping noise during use. Nothing that a blanket, radio or closed door won't fix.

Depth wise you get six inches of usable space; longer guys may want something longer, but with all the stimulation you get from the texture you may not care. The Red will take up to 1 3/4" diameter with ease; larger if you do not use the cap. There is approximately a half an inch of space between the two halves when closed, so small diameters will still enjoy the Red.

Once again the design of the Flip Holes is unmatched when it comes to cleaning. TPR silicone can be cleaned with any toy cleaner or antibacterial soap and water; just make sure to clean every nook and cranny. After you rinse it off, you use the cap to prop open the two halves for drying. Of course you can use a lint free cloth/towel to dry it off as well. The two "legs" of the cap fit in the crook of the hinge and hold it open so that air can circulate around the texture. This also allows any excess water to drip off. When dry, slide the cap on to cover the entrance and store wherever you like. The outside, around the buttons, has the same TPR silicone material exposed, so be careful not to let it touch dissimilar materials.



TPR silicone only works with water based lubes, so no silicone or oil based lubes please. Tenga provides three samples of their "Hole Lotion" lube to get you going right out of the package. You get: Wild, a thin lube for a "Feel every nub" feel; Mild, which is a bit thicker and lasts longer than the Wild; and Real, an even thicker (think anal lube) lube for those marathon jack off sessions. Each sample will last multiple sessions, so as far as lube goes you will be set for some time.

Don't confused by the word silicone and think that the Red can be properly sanitized. Sharing should only be done with a condom to keep those nasties at bay.

For those that are not familiar with the Flip Hole Black I took a picture so you can compare the textures of the two. As you can see the Red has less texture: this is great for those guys that like a little less intense texture.

Oh how I love my Flip Holes. Having tried the other big brand, I can tell you that I will choose the Tenga first every time. You see, I like texture, and the more the merrier. The material used by Tenga is great for this, plus there are no worries when it comes to using soap for clean up. The flip design can't be beat for cleaning ease as well.

For me the Red is a lot less intense than the Black, which makes it great for long drawn out sessions; no thirty second climax here. I thoroughly enjoy using the buttons for a different feel, with the middle one being my favorite. The suction is by no means a "Suck start a Harley" feel but feels quite good, especially during climax.
