Mio - my Winner

Mio is designed as a vibrating cock ring - primarily for use by us human males. Secondarily you can obviously add vibrations to your favorite dildo - especially the realistic variety. As you know penises come in all shapes and sizes - but I only have one - modestly sized one for this review.

Run of the mill vibrating cock rings do nothing for me - so I have settled on using non-vibrating cock-and-ball rings like my favorite Gear Essentials Omega - the heavy steel feels awesome to both my partner and I.

Traditional cock-only rings are generally made with cheap jelly material and small low-power vibes. It's easy to understand why - the design challenges are formidable - but give kudos to Je Joue they have pulled off a near miracle - a body safe silicone vibe that is both comfortable and relatively powerful. Add to that it's rechargeable and fully waterproof and you have the definition of a high quality sex toy in the early 21st century!

Some people are interested in cock rings as a novelty or enhancement - but like many older men, I'm look for something akin to a sexual aide - and Mio woks great for both. I'm going to convince my urologist to write me a prescription!

By restricting the outflow of blood c-rings help older men achieve erections easier, the erections tend to be harder - and even help make one a little larger. Not fake penis pill larger - just a fraction that your spouse will no doubt appreciate - mine sure does! Best of all - I can stay harder longer after orgasm.

Because I'm so happy with my Omega - I actually bough Mio to see if I could add vibrations to my wife's favorite Vixskin dildos - Johnny, Maverick and even Outlaw. And indeed Mio is able to be stretched enough to slide onto all three. Although the vibes do radiate - they are not strong enough to be useful at least for my wife.

The silicone on all of the Je Joue vibrators is a relatively thin matte finish with a little drag which is useful for keeping things in place. If you need a small amount of lube to put it on - don't over do it because once on, you will want it stay in place.

Like all all high quality silicone - there is no odor but there is a seam that runs through the middle of the toy where two halves have been fused. The seam caused no discomfort and did not interfere with using the product.

The top portion that has the vibrator is plastic covered in silicone - the ring that stretches to hold it in place - is solid stretchy silicone. It's a fair question to wonder how durable the elasticity of the silicone will last - I can't answer that question definitively - but the quality of construction leads me to believe that it will last a good long time.

The ring stands 2.5" tall x 2" wide x 3/4" deep. The ring that holds it in place is 1.25" but can be stretched to at least 2" - I was able to put it on the Vixskin Outlaw.

The top has the sealed buttons to turn it on and off - that are also used for charging - making it 100% waterproof - an important consideration since due to it's placement that it will easily be covered in lube and or bodily fluids that would damage unsealed electronics.

Since I am modestly sized - the toy easily stretches for the 1.5" that I need - yet holds tight enough to assist with maintaining an erection. It's easy enough to place the vibrating section in any orientation - a full 360 degree capability - it is likely that you will place it at '12 o'clock' to help stimulate your wife's clitoris or '6 o'clock to vibrate your balls - but hey - maybe you wear hat askew - and your cock ring to!

I use it in the convention 12 o'clock position and the slim 3/4" profile is comfortable for my wife.

The Mio has 7 vibrating patterns and 5 power settings that are accurately described on the product page. The patterns are changed by a separate button situated between the + & - buttons. 35 options is a bit much - but you should be able to find one - or even a few that work for you. I - like my wife are easy just give me powerful steady vibrations - honestly this is more for her than me.

At a level 5, Mio is both powerful and quiet. look it's not Hitachi Wand powerful - but for it's size it packs a pretty big punch.

Like all Je Joue products - the sealed buttons can be hard to push - so if your going to be making frequent changes while wearing the Mio - it could get a little clumsy. We go straight to level 5 and leave it there.

General care and maintenance is generally easy - except for one major flaw. After use just wash with soap and water - fully immersed if you like. The fatal flaw is that for some reason the Mio will not hold a charge between uses. This means that you have to know you want to use it several hours ahead of time and be in a position to plug it in.

If not - you'll find it's dead after having been in storage for a day or so. We have several other rechargeable toys including the Je Joue Mimi and have never had this problem before. This is a serious flaw.

Je Joue's packaging is first rate. It comes in a nice box - suitable for gifting and storage. However, if you are a minimalist - you'll consider it over done.

We took a chance on Mio for two reasons - first to add vibes to several dildos. Although it worked in principal - the vibes were not strong enough to be useful or interesting. With the dildo fully penetrating, the clit vibe would reach the intended target - but my wife likes me to thrust the dildos - taking Mio out of direct contact - eliminating the stimulation.

The second purpose was to use it on me (as designed by Je Joue). I can give it a 50-50 vote for efficacy here. As with the dildo - if I am in doggie or missionary position and thrusting the vibes contact her clit only briefly on each thrust. However - my wife loves cowgirl - and this is where we found that Mio shines.

With the ability to grind on the vibe instead of my pubic bone - there was a lot more good going on - success for Mio!
