Everyday Hand Lotion Lives Up to Its Name

EOS delivers a nice, moisturizing natural lotion in an adorable but somewhat small, recyclable, and easily portable package. It comes is several different scents and is great for an all-over moisturizer, though it is kindest on hands/elbows. It's not the most amazing lotion in the world, but if you're looking for something to carry in your purse to keep your hands soft, this is the one for you.

Pros
Moisturizing, natural, organic, soaks in well, does not leave a greasy/slick film.
Cons
Runs a bit thin, could be more affordable, and not hypo-allergenic.

Use

While the name suggests this is primarily for protecting and healing your mitts, this lotion is great to nourish and hydrate your skin all over, as needed - externally, of course. It has a light, pleasant scent and comes in a cute pebble-shaped container that should easily fit into most purses or totes. It is, however, not hypo-allergenic, and contains no SPF UVA/UVB protection. It is otherwise a solid hand-cream. The price is a bit steep in my opinion, but one I'm willing to pay, as EOS has not steered me wrong yet.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The lotion's formula is a bit on the thin side, but not so much that it's going to all come pouring out of the bottle at once on you, or anything like that. A little of it does go a long way and it smooths on easily. It soaks into your skin relatively quickly, without leaving any sort of oily or filmy residue afterwards.

Taste / Aroma

I didn't taste it, given that it's a lotion meant for external use only, but it comes in several different scents: berry, cucumber melon, and "nourish". I've only tried the berry scent so far and I liked it quite a bit. It had a nice mixed-berry smell that didn't come across as artificial or overly sweet. The smell isn't terribly strong but it's definitely there and it does linger for a while, should you be scent-sensitive or around those who are.

Performance

EOS Everyday is a decently moisturizing lotion. A little dab of it does go quite a long way. It spreads readily and evenly, and absorbs into your skin quickly. It lasts well for a few hours, even on my dry skin, before reapplication is necessary.

It's definitely not the richest lotion I've ever used, but it does what it's meant to. If you have incredibly dry/chapped hands and are in need of seriously extreme moisture, this probably isn't for you. But if you want convenient lotion to keep your hands smooth, it'll probably work for you.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Allergy concerns
    • Long lasting

Packaging

EOS really does seem to have consistently interesting packaging and the Everyday lotion does not dissapoint in this regard. It comes in a small, flat, pebble-like oval tube that's made of recyclable plastic. It opens via a pop top that's secure enough to not really worry about busting open should you toss it in your handbag, and the overall size and shape makes carrying it with you easy as pie. The label is kind of flimsy but can be peeled off without problem. Flimsy sticker label aside, it's a very efficient and novel little bottle, though getting the last bits of lotion out of it might be troublesome.
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Recyclable
    • Travel friendly

Special Features

As with other EOS products, this is all natural, mostly organic, and in a recyclable container. However, it is not hypo-allergenic, so if you've got allergy concerns you might want to check over the ingredients list and do a spot test first.

Personal comments

I'm something of an EOS fangirl and the trend really continues with this. It's not the most powerful or moisturizing lotion but it does work well for me. And despite not being hypo-allergenic I've had no problems with it on my ridiculously sensitive skin. The packaging is handy and cute, though I do wish you'd get more for a lesser price. It's still a very nice lotion that I'll buy again.
